Who: Leah of Hel (
scarygirl), Loki Laufeyson (
not_a_troll) and Kanaya Maryam (
mcfussyfangs)
What: Sleepovers and makeovers
When: Day 661? After the safety blanket event
Where: Leah's room
Rating: PG-13
Leah didn't pay attention to most of what occurred on the network. It came frighteningly close to the internet, and she'd already taken the measure of the internet and dismissed it as a collective of idiots validating each other's idiocy in an endless and vicious cycle she had no interested in contributing to. She only looked when she had nothing else to keep her occupied, and she certainly didn't bother to keep track of Loki's additions to that endless void.
Actually, that was true. Leah felt she spent enough time listening to Loki without looking for what he said to other people. Which she might have great cause to regret, if she knew what he'd been saying about her to other people, or what he'd been planning behind her back.
Case in point- Leah had no idea that he'd goaded Kanaya with tales of how terribly unfashionable she was, or plotted with her to do something about it. (As though it were Leah's fault she only had one dress!) She'd remained in perfect, blissful ignorance, enjoying the solitude after the awkwardness of feeling stuck...to him... which mostly involved sitting, in her room, and doing nothing. Just as she'd always done in her cave.
Completely unsuspecting.

Still, considering her lack of a job, Kanaya's brought all that she can, which is mostly various colors of sheets and curtains, which are basically just swatches of fabric anyway. She's also brought a cheap, portable sewing machine and plenty of gumption and know-how.
The latter doesn't cost money.
Still, before she barges in (which she is firmly against doing anyway because rude) she turns to Loki.
"Did you remember to tell her we were coming?"
no subject
"She would not mind." Loki shakes his head. Leah would mind, actually. "It is important for her to meet new people. It is also very important to have her hair adorned with ribbons. And a multitude of dresses."
He flashes Kanaya a bright, sincere smile before he moves to knock on Leah's door.
"Leah I have come with a visitor!"
no subject
She just had hoped that maybe, after his relentless messages and all the time they'd been weirdly drawn to each other (though that enchantment, at least, hadn't been his fault), he might give her at least a day before tormenting her again.
"You what?" she says through the door, loud and already with an edge of irritation under the surprise. And when she opens the door, it's with her body determinedly blocking the way in, her eyes narrowed suspiciously. "What are you doing now, Loki?"
no subject
When Leah answers the door brimming with irritation and suspicion, her caution is given validation.
To say that Kanaya is angry would be going a little far. So would the words 'irritated' and 'upset'. Mostly she is just mildly annoyed at the inconvenience of being an unsuspected visitor. Possibly a little irked with Loki, judging my the deadpan stare she is sending his way. Still, there is a time and a place for being a bit petulant, and now is not it. Now is a time for introduction, and if fate wills it, ~*~fashion~*~.
"Hello. Leah, I presume?" she says, tilting her head in as a form of acknowledgement way. "I am Kanaya Maryam. Your friend has... Well, I am sure he can adequately explain the situation. Can't you, Loki?"
no subject
"Now I am judging the looks on both your faces I think I have quite some explanation to do, yes? Beacon Kanaya, this is Leah of Hel. Leah only possesses one dress and one hair do, therefore she is in dire need of more dresses and a new hair do. Perhaps one that goes with a new dress!
I have not told Leah this because of the most important 'surprising factor' but apparently she is not quite willing to be surprised either. Alas. My apologies you have to witness this, Kanaya."
After that he turns to Leah.
"Leah, this is a surprise. The most important thing about surprises is that they are surprising. I cannot tell you that you will receive a surprise because that takes away the entire element of being surprised.
But apparently...you are not fond of surprises either. Not even fashionable ones."
no subject
That was the look of an ally.
"It's very nice to meet you," she said to Kanaya, her voice perfectly even and pleasant; just to show Loki she could switch it off if you wanted. "Come in, if you like." And she held open the door just a bit, to let Kanaya squeeze inside.
"You," she added to Loki, switching it back on. "Are not welcome. And if I find you loitering outside the window or in the hall next time I come out, I will pummel you until your face is nothing but a bruise."
no subject
So, of course, she nods.
"I would be more than happy to come in. If you wouldn't mind, however, I would like it if Loki explained himself beforehand."
She offers a sort of curtsey to Leah in apology. The other girl seems like the sort of person she would like to get to know, and she is not nearly as unfashionable as Loki implied. Her dress is nice and her hair is well-maintained. Hence Kanaya's desire for an explanation.
She turns towards Loki and sets her posture to that of a stern custodian chiding an unruly charge, raising herself to her full height of TALL.
"What were you trying to do," she asks him.
no subject
"Er...if I am correct this is a fun-for-all make over instead of glaring at a certain dashing godling for things he has not done."
Finally he tries to make a soothing gesture with his hands. Actually there are no ulterior motives besides Leah getting a new dress and perhaps something fun with her hair. Of course this could backfire...
"You could at least put a little bit of trust in me, Leah. It is al just 'fun and games' and...friends."
Yes, he pouts.
no subject
Actually, that is not true. She does believe him- that's what's so unfortunate about it. She believes that he's at least telling some kind of half truth, and that this was probably one of his motives. It's just that she also believes that he has others, ones he will conveniently not mention if they get him in trouble, and it's those she doesn't trust.
"Thank you for the introduction," she said coldly. "And for meddling in my life, and tricking us both. I am sure that will give us plenty to talk about, without you."
Even though really she knew, if he hung outside the door long enough, she would end up letting him in sooner or later. Not even because she wanted to. Because it was less annoying if she did than if she didn't. But he deserved the lesson first.
no subject
"Loki, as sure as I am of your... conviction, perhaps it would be best if, in the future, you planned less unexpected surprises at the expense of your friends."
She nods, standing up and backing away, turning towards Leah and offering an apologetic look.
"Again, I'm sorry. It was not my intention to offend."
no subject
"You did nothing to offend me," she says, and she even smiles a little bit. "I am sorry that we met this way. You may come in, if you want. I don't see why this should spoil anything you had planned for the evening."
no subject
Assisting this motive are others, such as the heaviness of her things and the general manner in which Leah conducts herself being absolutely intriguing. So Kanaya lifts her machine a little higher and nods to Loki.
"I will see you later, and we will have a discussion."
Then she proceeds to slide past the small amount of space Leah has left for her to move into her apartment. Girls night it is?
We can keep going while we wait for Mari I guess
"- did he really tell you all of that?" she said, leaning against the door after it closed (just in case he tried to get in).
Kay
"That is indeed what he told me. I wouldn't have come if I thought he meant to do you harm, or inconvenience you in any way. While I do not mind meddling in the affairs of my friends in some ways, I would not do that to a stranger."
