Yes, but to a much lesser extent.

[And here's where it gets a bit complicated.]

Welllll, Time Lords have this sort of trick which helps them to sort of cheat death. They can do it a certain number of times. Not only does this process heal their bodies, it...changes them, physically. I mean entirely--different face, body type, personality type even. We're still the same intelligence deep down, just a bit of a different exterior. You follow?

Yeah, I think so. But how is that possible?

[She's not going to say it's impossible, because technically she herself should be impossible, but here she was, but she wanted to know how it worked.]

Think of it like there's a kind of energy inside your cells which when they sense the body is dying, this energy is released throughout the body--healing the injuries while forming a new one to do it. And since you're here apparently, you'll see a few of my past selves running about, and at least a future one that I know about.

[This is actually the first time he can recall having to explain regeneration to anyone in a long time. He's hoping the part about his other selves won't be too much for her.]

Yes. All of them have different faces and they're all me--the Doctor. And, when you think about it, we're a bit of a colorful bunch I suppose.

Good question. That's a very good question. It shouldn't be possible but somehow we're all here mostly. I think there are certain rules of reality that don't apply to this place--or so I'm told.

For someone that never stops, you're doing an awful lot of standing around right now, aren't you? Doesn't this count as an adventure? A new world? New things to see? Well you've been here longer. I've barely gotten the chance to even look around yet. You going to show me around, dad?

Welllll, I may have been here longer, but it doesn't mean I've seen everything there is to see. And I was exploring before I ran into you. I mean, hello! Last time I saw you...you know.
