What: CUPCAKE WARS.
When: Days 24 and 25 (January 19-22)
Where: Cupcake making within the individual houses, judging in the Castle Plaza.
Rating: Worksafe? IF THIS CHANGES, LET THE MODS KNOW? I don't really see why it would, but...

[Come the morning of Day 24, a small wooden table will appear in each house's kitchen. Upon it lies a simple piece of parchment, explaining the rules.

[The Cupcake Wars have begun.]

[What. A mess.

Sora's got the kitchen littered with ingredients from peanut-butter, to chocolate chips, to gummi bears and jam and fruit snacks, to a whole heap of other items that have no business being in cupcakes.

Even more unusual is how many bags of flour he's got out on the table. It looks like he's bent on making enough cupcakes for all of Asgard and then some. Or at least attempting to make the largest cupcake ever made. Winning this cupcake contest will be a piece of cake! If he doesn't burn down the kitchen first.]

[Feferi only has a vague idea of what cupcake-making involves; living underwater for most of your life makes baking in general pretty difficult to learn about. But Sora at least looks like he has an idea of what's going on. Well, it's all really colorful anyway! She picks up a handful of gummi bears.]

Are you going to decorate the cupcakes with these? I'm not shore how to make cupcakes, but you've got a lot of cool ingredients! Can I help?

That's the plan!

[He sets down another bag of flour, dusting off his hands. He blinks a little, noting the grey skin, the horns. And then dismisses it, after all, he's seem some pretty bizarre things in his day.]

Sure you can help! I've never really made cupcakes either, but it's gotta be just like baking a cake, only they're tinier! Have you made those at least?

[Feferi's gotten pretty used to seeing humans around; it's good to know not everyone is going to immediately comment on her being a troll.]

Hmm... I know someone who makes things like that. I used to live in the ocean, though, so I never really got to bake much at all. It's hard to bake anemonething underwater!

[She doesn't seem at all deterred by this, though.]

It can't be that hard, though! I'll follow your lead.

[A chuckle. Yeah, he doesn't think he'd have much luck cooking underwater either. I'll say!

[He's less distracted about her being a troll and more distracted on how he thinks she's about to say one thing, and then she suddenly says another. Anemona-what-now?...an...anything? Was she trying to say anything?]

Underwater... Ooohh, so you're some kind of mermaid or something.

[No fins to speak of. But that hasn't stopped Sora from getting around Atlantica.]

[Feferi giggles.]

I'm an aquatic troll! Usually I can breathe underwater, but not since I ended up beached here. I'm Feferi, what's your name?

Yup! Haven't really made a lot of cupcakes before, not from scratch. But how hard could it be, right?

Hmm. Having another person'll probably speed it up. So yeah, I'll take all the help I can get.

Have you ever made any cupcakes before?

I think so--but it can't be that hard. It's just like all the other baked goods right?

[ Nearby, Rika is already carefully trying to put some strawberry icing on the tops of her vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. Simple cupcake flavors, but it looks tasty! But she stops and can't help but notice the unusual amount of ingredients on Sora's side of the table.

She watches him a moment before saying something. ]

...Do you need any help?

[He blinks, peering on over to Rika's already finished cupcakes. They may be simple, but they're leagues better than what Sora might be able to do on his own. But Rika asking him if he needs help reminds him of what he's doing for the contest, himself.]

Yeah, sure! I'll need all the help I can get. If any cupcake's gonna get the judge's attention, it'll be this one!

[ She puts down her icing bag and totters over to Sora's side of the table. She can take a break from her cupcakes. This kind of thing is simple to her. ]

What kind of cupcake are you going to make? It looks like you're going to make a whole lot.

I'm not sure yet. There's so many things I wanna try at once, I haven't decided.

But my strategy's all about size. The bigger we can make it, the more we can put on a decoration, right?

[She recognizes that mousy brown hair! Geez, Sora looks really serious about this given all that food everywhere.

... She's assuming it's all food, anyway. There's a lot of things she's never seen before. And since Sora was cheerful enough with their last conversation Euri will wander over, picking up one of the gummi bears.]

Euri! [She gets a wide grin in return.]

Sure am. This whole cupcake contest thing sounds kind of fun, if you ask me. I wanna know what the prize is for winning...

Hey what's the big idea!?

[Sora's noticed the threat all too late and ends up a casualty of Selphie's dastardly deed. He wipes part of the batter off his face.]

Why I oughta-- [Only watch out! He's grinning now, and firing back with a spoonful of sticky green frosting, not quite realizing that if the other girl dodges it, he's likely to hit another innocent bystander cooking behind Selphie.] Ha!

No big ideas, real --

[Frosting... HORRIBLE TASTING FROSTING... in Selphie's mouth. Insert Selphie spluttering here before she's wandering over with a generous cup full of flour and pouring it over Sora's head.]

[Aw cripes, now he's just caked on with all this gunk and flour! This means war!]

[He's grabbing the entire bowl of frosting and moving towards his enemy. Unfortunately, some of that earlier cupcake batter's still on the floor and Sora's foot ends up slipping out from under him when he steps on it.]

[Next thing anyone knows, half the inhabitants of the kitchen end up crying out in dismay: most of them have been splattered with green.]
