Because life's not all herbs and bubbling beakers (Wide Open)
Who: Samantha Grey
samantha_grey and YOU!
What: Bored half-demons after work, wandering Gefion Park
When: Days 138
Where: Gefion Park
Rating: Let's keep it PG-13 or easier
Samantha made her way into the park, a moderately pleasant look on her face. Flopping down next to one of the larger trees with a good view of the lake, she sighed and closed her eyes, breathing a sigh of relief. "I needed this," she murmured, putting her hands behind her head and relaxing against the tree trunk.
Getting things set up over at the shop was taking a lot out of her. It was certainly pleasant work, and it gave her the definite feeling that she was actually doing something. At the same time, the occasional moment to rest up and take a break was helpful as well. This place was starting to make her feel optimistic, and that worried her. There were far too many nice people, folks who refused to believe the worst in her, who forgave her despite what she was. A part of her expected it to all come crashing down any day. And of course, there were other issues, but it wasn't like solutions would just drop into her lap, now was it?

It was during this particular jump that she noticed someone was occupying the tree she was about to bounce off of and promptly lost her balance, missing the mark and landing right next to the other girl.
Now she was both frustrated and embarrassed and it was clear as day on her face. She flinched a little and looked away red faced.
"S-sorry... Didn't see you there..."

There was a grunt and a sigh before Samantha sat down again and shrugged. "Don't worry about it. I'll count it a blessing if I'm keeping quiet these days enough that people don't notice me," she said, a smirk on her lips.
There was, in the air, the faintest whiff of sulfur.

"I wish I could have something like that... not being noticed that is."
no subject
"Wish I actually had it, but most of the time I seem to draw too much attention, so I wouldn't ask me for pointers," she added before closing her eyes and looking up. Only then did her claws slip back into her fingers.

After all, if she could find a way to keep people away from her, it might be for the best. Nonetheless, Satellizer looked to the side a bit curiously and then back to the grass.
"Taking a break I guess?" she asked offhandedly.
no subject
"Busy enough getting my shop set up, so figured it would be good to take a moment and relax before I worked myself crazy. What about you? What's the deal with the crazy jumping around?"
no subject
"Pardon, I was just curious since I haven't met many of the people who have set up shops here." She figured you had to be pretty settled down to do so. And she hadn't heard from the last one who had offered her a job, she figured he might have found a way back to his world.
"I-In any case, I was simply training some more. The coliseum works great for combat, but it doesn't do much for me in the stamina, speed and direction department. The park is good enough for that unless I go out into the forest."

She laughed at her own expense, seemingly amused by even her own paranoia. "As for practicing your aim, speed, and ability to react to tight, unusual terrain, I suggest alleys too," she added. "Don't do it alone, but you ought to maybe look into working with city terrain. most of the fighting's been in town."
no subject
At the suggestion, she looked up in thought and nodded. "Huh, you're right, that would make more sense... I'd just have to do it when there's no one around." And not just because someone might get hurt. The fewer people, the better.
no subject
"Yeah. Street fighting isn't helped that much by trees, though the thicker parts might not hurt especially if you get caught in a basement somewhere fighting around support beams."
Someone had experience with street fighting.

"It's a good thing to keep in mind, thanks for the tip."

Her father wasn't here. It was as simple as that. The spirits of six or seven dead demons were also not whispering in her ears. That sort of helped avoid going crazy nearly as much.

"Yeah... I wouldn't blame you either. I know what it's like." she paused and looked over at her for a moment. "Is there anything that could, you know, calm you down if you ever need to be? Maybe... maybe I or someone could help when something as such happens."
no subject
"I've got a few people watching for signs. If we get this figured out, I'll have them tie me up ahead of time and hopefully that'll take care of it," she added, shrugging. "But I know that side of me... I wouldn't bank on it."
She always got loose, and the longer it waited, the worse it got.
no subject
"It's not something that's easy to deal with... Maybe there will be a way to contain it better in the secrets this place hold."
no subject
She sighed and shook her head, wrapping an arm around one leg and putting her chin on her knee. "If it came down to it, timing and catching me off guard could win the fight one on one, but that part of me knows what I know, and she's willing to fight really dirty. Don't get cocky and bring backup. It's better that than over-estimate what you can do and end up in my claws."
no subject
"I've been a capable fighter since then and I give my word that I will do my best to help you if such an event occurs."

She nodded at the statement. "A fight that's not from an enemy but an ally should be viewed differently than the prior... I would try to take the best steps to assuring your safety and that of others."

"I... hope I'm not overstepping my grounds... am I? I just... to the normal population sometimes we're treated as such 'monsters' as you called them since technically we're bred from the same cells that the monster we hunt have... It's the only way we can fight them."

"At least there's that... let's hope that it stays as such and you can continue keeping it under control."

"I'm... I'm sorry for having intruded on your break. The time should have been used for relaxing and... well not other things." She hesitated for moment before looking back to her.
"I don't believe I introduced myself... I'm Satellizer L. Bridget, and if you ever need any assistance you may call on me if you so wish."

She nodded, "You as well."
Satella looked back once more as she left, wondering what was the girl's story... Then again, she wasn't willing to share her own so it would have been hypocritical to ask.

Cheriour approaches slowly as soon as he recognizes her- he's not friends with her, no. The relationship between them is a mutual want for the safety of Asgard, really, but that doesn't mean he's not curious at all as to find out more about her.
"Having a nice day, miss?" He says, curtly, bowing his head as he does so. It is always nice to be polite, even to people you don't know too well. " I hope I'm not disturbing you."
no subject
"Not really. Grab a spot if you want to sit for a minute," she said, motioning vaguely to a patch of grass that wasn't inside her comfort zones personally. "Day's alright. The apothecary's coming around bit by bit. Should be up in no time."

Demons and angels were enemies, that he knew for a fact. But here, where demons could be like humans or be born through entirely different means, or even mate with human women and produce offspring, he had been unsure to jump so hastily to that conclusion.
And Sam was certainly one of those beings who made him question that.
He looks pleasantly surprised. "Apothecary? Oh, how interesting! I haven't seen one of those in a long time. When will it be finished?"

That was partially true. She'd also preferred a place that was more magically active than others to help her work... at least as soon as she began making sure all of the other focal points in Loki were fully active as well.
"There's another one run by the locals around here somewhere. That and the Yakuzen Clinic's stores that I help out with are about the only ones I know off the cuff."
