Don't wait for a knight in shining armor (Open)
Who: Samantha Grey, Eve Samson, Matsuri Kudo, ???, any would-be rescuers and you
What: Someone's gone nuts again.
When: Day 142
Where: Around town
Rating: PG-13. If a side-scene goes Mature, I'll make a note of it.
Samantha lurked in the shadows of the city, dressed normally and grinning in a way that wasn't healthy for anybody involved. the demon licked her lips and sighed. She was reasonably certain that she had just missed Eve visiting by a few minutes, and there would be others around the city trying to verify that she was alright and not insane today. But, it didn't hurt that she knew exactly what she had told all of them.
Besides, all of those fools were still jumpy after the shadows incidents. That gave her the most delicious of ideas. It was time to find out just how smart these people were, not to mention how capable the natives were of defending themselves. The faceless had to be good for something.
(OOC: There's two planned scenes in this log. If you would like to help 'rescue' either of the maidens in distress, please contact
expy or
lookingfordragon. ???, feel free to pop in whereever or handwave his involvement however you please, since we've discussed things already. Samantha will be maintaining her distance from the event, so finding her personally will be difficult at best, since she will break it off if anyone tries and play innocent in the crowds. A final confrontation is more likely in the evening.
If you would like to simply run into a crazed Sam or another of her 'minions' after she's taken a little breather, drop me a line and feel free to post. She's being sneaky at the moment, but I'm sure we can figure something out.)

Attack #1 - Eve Samson
They really did need to have some fun. She kept out of sight as she watched her home from a window in a nearby building. Eve was bound to be by at some point, and she could send her a playmate...

Exercising a certain amount of caution, she goes on about her day in the usual way for the most part. Remembering last time, she makes a point to check in on the network periodically, in case another nasty post were to pop up. On her way to work, having made sure to take a route that would pass by Samantha's house, she pauses across from it. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, as far as she could see.
But that could mean a lot of things.

But, when she saw the girl coming by through the window, she just smiled. There was a faceless person in the street not that far away. They carried no distinguishing marks whatsoever, and with that lack came a nearly complete lack of will to stop her from doing what she did next.
She reached out and exerted her own will, taking over the stranger's body and sliding down to take a seat, out of sight. She closed her eyes, seeing through her victim's. Moving as stealthy as possible, she tried to catch Eve off guard with a grab for one of her arms. After all, she had an idea of a point that would be beyond uncomfortable for her to grab. That might catch the girl off guard...
And she never played fair.

Driven by instinct, she quickly elbows her assailant in the gut, stomps on their foot, and then flips them over onto the floor in a rather impressive maneuver. It was a mix of standard defense tips (particalarly, the kind given to women in case they should be assaulted) and reflexes she had picked up on during the past few months of her life, but she still couldn't help but to stare blankly when she realizes how immediate her reaction was. After a moment of staring, when she realizes what she's looking at, she purses her lips. This was a native, obviously, but that helped explain nothing regarding why they had tried to grab her arm. As far as she knew, natives this underdeveloped shouldn't be able to have maliciousness in them period.
Something was off here.

And while she did that, she made the man... woman... whatever's face seem to contort into the best impression of one of the taken she could remember. It couldn't scream, but it tried to muscle through the pain of being taken to the ground to wrestle with Eve, knee punching and arms reaching for her throat to wrap around the slender flesh.
For all that she didn't have powers, Eve was rather strong. However, Samantha was still enjoying the distant sensations that seemed to come through the person's body back to her, something to remember for the future. Could she enjoy the perceptions of more than one if she ever commanded them? Oh the decadence...

But it certainly didn't make them less of a threat.
She digs her nails into their wrist, grinding her teeth together as she tries to place herself into a better position, and then allowing her knee to slam into their stomach. It was one of the points that had been emphasized to her by her whatever he was, and one she certainly would take full advantage of. Another one was going straight for their senses. In other words--their eyes and ears. She didn't have the momentum or the faculties to make use of the latter, but she would certainly try to make use of the former, trying to press one of her thumbs into their left eye.

Pinned as it was, it couldn't head but her and had one of its hands gripped while her other was fighting with gouging out an eye. It reared back its remaining fist and started to aim blow after blow at her stomach to try and gain some momentum. Samantha knew it wouldn't be enough, not with her regeneration, but that didn't matter. She wanted it to feel as 'real' as possible, to make Eve feel like she was threatened, even though the strain of the fight was taking its toll.
She could last only a few more blows before needing to cut off the attack.
Attack #2 - Matsuri Kudo
Now, it was just a matter of finding her target.
Attack #2 - Matsuri Kudo
Plus she'd found some apples as well. Now she needed to think about what to do next, having some form of income would be useful is Fujimaru or Shiyo showed up.
The area was pretty quiet she could think things though here.

She put her hands behind her head and closed her eyes, looking for all the world like someone relaxed and enjoying the day, tail flopping lazily.
Through the poor man's eyes, she could see far more clearly. He walked over towards a nearby tree and tried to watch Matsuri surreptitiously from behind it, to give the demon a closer look through her senses. These semi-faceless souls didn't carry many individual marks, but they did have the advantage of being very weak willed...

Something felt off but she couldn't tell what. Maybe it was the gods or from not having her powers.

There was definitely something off about the situation. The man from behind the tree got out into full view. He rifled through his pockets, looking for something. He could feel a switchblade inside there and Samantha smiled off in the distance. He was resisting a little, but she was amused that he was the sort to have a weapon for self defense.
With halting, off-beat steps, the native started walking in Matsuri's general direction. The walk attempted to look casual, but there were halts and jerks, like the limbs weren't quite working right. It was a bit like watching a zombie film actually.

He doesn't look too good, he looked ill...
"Are you okay sir?"

slow posts
"Sir?"
She slowly draws her sword just in case.

Something wasn't right.
