I've always been the one carrying the burden because I can and I need to, not because I enjoy it. That's one reason I didn't ask you about this earlier, because I've been walking on eggshells to make sure you don't have some freakin' psychotic episode!" he yelled back, too angry to even keep eye contact at this point. It didn't matter how stupid his midset was, because he knew it was stupid, but thirty years of having it ingrained in his mind, body, and soul made it hard to think about doing anything else. His father had fucked them up good with his own secrets and passing the burden of being a dad on to Dean, even though he was just a stupid kid that should've been allowed to make mistakes and not worry about getting his brother killed. The worst part was that Dean knew this was Sam, even if it wasn't exactly his Sam, the one he'd lost to the pit. He knew that it hurt him because he had a soul, even if it was a broken one, but right now Dean just needed to get away before he started throwing punches.
