So Isaac isn't particularly happy, but he's going to go along anyway, even if he has his doubts. This is why they're here, right? And the sooner they fix all this crap, the sooner they can get back home- which seems like what Derek wants more than anything else. Besides which, Sophie is going, and Isaac has been getting stir crazy around here with nothing to do but practice and get better at using his powers, day in and day out. He's pretty confident in them now.
As the caravan starts moving and Isaac realizes that he didn't really bring anything to keep himself occupied (remember, they left at five in the morning?), he's going to make his own fun. After a few hours, he's going to start making small shadow puppets that blossom up out of the floor. Two little shadow knights on horseback, maybe six inches tall, and Isaac proceeds to amuse himself by having them joust across the floor of the caravan.
