What: A Wake/Undeathday party

Rating: Tentatively putting up an R merely for language and whatever else anyone might get up to.

Anyone affiliated with Scott, Stiles, or possibly more due to glitches and/or random oopsies will wake up with this in their inbox.

The back reads: Come celebrate the fact that we're not dead. Anymore. There will be food, drink, really bad stories, possible pantslessness (though I'm wearing 2 belts), and more hijinks than you can shake a stick at. The Wake will be held at the Roadhouse and should be starting around 5, but come at your own pace. Bring a story to share or some pie. Actually, screw the story, just bring pie.

Seriously though, Derek and Jackson can get lost.

Stiles has set up shop on the long bar, hoarding a bowl of peanuts and looking at the pint of beer in front of him as though it's both his best friend and his worst enemy. This night will probably end in tears and possibly horrible destruction if he chooses to pick up the beer and dr--

Too late. Mmm, beer.

It looked like Scott was checking out Stiles' ass, but he really wasn't. Scott was just confused by Stiles' decision to wear two belts. Staring wasn't helping Scott understand it any better, so Scott finally caved in and asked him.

"Dude, what is with the extra belt?" Was it to prevent any mooning urges like the last time they got drunk?

"To help keep my pants up. I find they have a tendency to slip when I'm drunk. Two should do it, right? Or should I have figure out how to wear three." He grinned, sliding the bowl over towards Scott before snagging a few more salty nuts for himself.

"At least I dressed up. What's this? Allison didn't see you leave like that, did she? Because I'm pretty sure she would have stopped this disaster." Red pants, Scott? Bright red pants? What is wrong with you?

Why Jo agreed to host a teenaged party slash wake she doesn't even know. But Scott had asked nicely and after hearing about the drama that went down with his and Stiles' death, she figured a party would do people some good. Not to mention she's always looking for a reason to get as many people as she can inside - she just likes watching over everyone, really.

But it is a party for Scott and Stiles, so Jo has officially given Allison (and Jackson) the day off. Meaning she's the only one manning the bar, and the only one she's going to let man the bar. She'll support underage drinking for the good of everyone's mental state, but she doesn't need anyone dying. Again.

So chances are if you're looking for a drink, Jo's the one to flag down. And if you have problems? Well, Ash will probably be asleep behind the pool table. If not, don't go checking one of the back rooms. Dr. Badass is not worth it.

[Dany recieved the oddest message from Stiles. Having no friends in common with him, she had no idea he had died during the battle. Worried about him, she comes to his strange party. She's usually not very social, but Stiles has been kind to her since she arrived, so this is the least she can do for him. She finds him drinking by the bar, though she doesn't recognize it as such, never having been to one before.]

Good evening, Stiles. I got a message from you about this... celebration?

[Looking over, he grinned as he saw Dany coming into the bar, arms open wide and maybe a little buzzed already from the beer. He slid off the stool and came over to give her a hug.]

Hey! You came! That is so cool! Look, I'm not dead anymore. I totally took an axe to the neck, but there's not even a mark. So we're celebrating not being dead. Have some peanuts.

[He was a whir of activity, trying to bring her over to sit by him at the bar.]

Stiles was dry and needed a refill. And look, there was a pretty blonde behind the bar. Maybe if he just sauntered up over there and ordered a beer, he'd get one. Scott had said there was no 'legal age limit' here, so hey, bottom's up, right?

"Hey, um... Joanne? Was that it? Sorry, I haven't actually, um, met you yet. I'm Stiles. Stiles Stilinski. Buddy of Scott's."

He was just going to so very casually slide his empty mug onto the counter.

Jo was finishing up putting away a couple of bottles of liquor when Stiles made his appearance, looking over her shoulder at him more amused than anything. Stiles? A lightweight? She never would have guessed.

"Just Jo." But she turns to him anyway, takes the three steps necessary to stand in front of him at the bar. "Nice to meet you, Stiles. Officially." Granted, she's met another version of Stiles. One she liked. But people change, a little more often in Asgard than most other places, and she's gotten good at cleaning the slate. "This-" she motions to the party around them, "was your idea, right?"

And yes, Stiles. She's picked up the mug and is currently filling it from the tap.

Hey. Hey! He is not a lightweight. He's just... not used to drinking yet. Give him time.

He looked around when she gestured at the bar, grinning and giving her an offhanded shrug. "Yeah. I mean, the whole dying part sucked, don't get me wrong. I don't want to do that any time soon again, but I figured it was the best way to stave off any wave of tears or pissed off friends that might give Scott some dirty looks for dying. It seemed to distract Allison enough." Which was good enough for him. "Irish people have wakes instead of funerals, right? Celebrating the person's life instead of standing around bawling at the fact they'd died. What better way to celebrate coming back from the dead than a wake?"

It was logical to him, okay?

[ the only reason derek shows up to a place where he's not wanted is because of scott. yeah, talk about worst reason ever, right? but this has to be done, and after their texting fiasco, this needs to be said more than ever. not that derek's looking forward to it, wants to really just pretend this has been said and done already, but...

he does have some pride. pride enough to see this through. scott had saved isaac, had given his life for derek's beta, and despite their disagreements, derek appreciates that. scott had been there unlike him, had taken the necessary steps when it should have been him. he'd failed isaac, and it's only thanks to scott that the beta's around.

he glares his way through the people, ignoring most who try to talk to him. now if only he could find scott. ]

[Ping. Was that a peanut bouncing off of Derek's head? It very well might be.

Ping. There was another one. Hah, this was fun.]

[ if you really think he's going to just. ignore that. then you're wrong, stiles, very wrong. he stops, turns, glares. he's here for scott only, should just go find said stupid teenager but then, this is stiles' wake too, isn't it? maybe he should say hello. ]

I'm surprised the gods wasted power to bring you back.

[Aww, look at that. The grumpy cat of werewolves was deigning to pay attention to him at his own deathday party. How sweet. He was touched.]

Yeah, well, they wasted some bringing you here. Seems only fair they balance out your utter sourness with a little levity. Seriously, can you at least try to smile? It won't hurt, Derek.

[Someone might also be a little itty bit drunk already.]

[ ugh, he'd never had the pleasure of experiencing this back home, but derek's come to hate it when you're drunk, stiles. very, very much so. ]

You really think this...party of yours is any reason to smile?

[ please. ]

Yes I do.

[He gave Derek a proud and pleased smile.]

Dude, we're zombies. We died and came back without resorting to Peter methods. I mean, the dying part sucked. It sucked hard, man, but then we weren't dead. I think that's a pretty good reason to be happy. There's beer and pie and peanuts. There's some music and Jackson's not here. It's a par-tay, Derek. You've been to one of those before, haven't you? Or do you not come out of your wolf cave except to growl at people?

[ zombies. right. ]

I don't have time for this.

[ is all he huffs. when is the last time he's been at a party or even had anything remotely resembling fun? he sure can't remember. probably back in high school before shit hit the fan.

but that's not derek anymore, and he's not here to celebrate stiles and scott. ]

Sure you do. You're here, aren't you?

[Look, Derek. He's making a feeble attempt to be nice. To you. On his deathday. There's even a beer being put down and sloooooowly scootched down the bar towards him.]

Have a beer. Have some pie. Just... I don't know. Try pulling the giant stick out of your ass for a change. You might be able to actually get comfortable.

[ this would be his cue to stomp off, but then stiles is pushing the beer at him and being...nice-ish, and derek stares with guarded uncertainty like the teen's just grown another head.

at least he doesn't just leave, right? a bit of eying between stiles and the beer later, he just shakes his head. ]

I don't drink. [ he can't ( couldn't ) get drunk and the taste is... nothing great. and he's just not cut out for this stuff. ]

Why not? I know Scott couldn't get drunk before, but he can now. Maybe a beer will, uh, help your disposition a little.

[And to be honest, drunk!Derek was something that Stiles was dying to see. Was he a grumpy drunk? A maudlin drunk? A (gasp) happy drunk? Oh, come on, Derek. Stop being a sour wolf.]

There's peanuts.

[Because that was clearly the way to entice Derek to drink, offer him a bowl of nuts.]

[ well, he doesn't want to get drunk. the thought of losing control of himself in any way doesn't seem appealing in the least, especially since he can't protect himself quite as well here like he could back home. it would make him...vulnerable, and that's something derek hale doesn't do.

he's really only here for scott...

but then, putting off that conversation might not be such a bad idea. so he sighs, steps closer to the bar, fingers brushing against the beer glass. ]

There's nothing wrong with my disposition. [ huff. ] And keep your peanuts.

Fine, fine. I won't share my salty nuts with you. [Snicker] More for me.

[But he grins when he sees Derek reaching for the beer. About freakin' time. He was beginning to think Derek might actually be allergic to fun.]

There's pie over by the buffet. There's other stuff by the buffet too, which is what makes it a buffet, but there's pie as well.

[ a look, stiles, have a look. B| ]

Why aren't you there then? [ a beer is enough, he's not about to actually get comfortable around here, thanks. for now he's actually failing to taste the damn thing though, and is instead just... looking at the gold liquid.

this still feels like a bad idea, but he still hasn't caught sight of scott. ]

Because I had half a pie when I got here and now I'm settling it with some beer. Figured I'd leave some pie for the rest. There's little sandwiches, too. Or hoagies. I can't really tell the difference. It's bread and meat and cheese and stuff. They're good.

[But not nearly as easy to eat as the nuts, which he kept popping in his mouth. So good. So salty. Such good projectiles.

He noticed the sour wolf wasn't drinking so he devised a genius plan to fix that. Lifting his glass, he clinked it against Derek's.]

Here's to not being dead anymore. And hey, Scott came back so that makes it totally worth it, right? Right.

[Then he took a drink.]

[ Allison still wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to do this - after all, forgetting the fact that Scott and Stiles had died rather than celebrating them coming back from the dead seemed like a much better idea to her - but they both seemed pretty excited about it, so. What's a girl to do?

She's definitely not going to be getting drunk tonight, though she might have a drink, because she's got a feeling Scott's going to be doing so and one of them needs to stay sober. So she just wanders around the Roadhouse, switching between chatting up Jo at the bar and mingling with the various people that showed up. ]

Allison isn't drinking tonight, at least no more than the one or two drinks she's already had, but that doesn't mean she can't sit at the bar and chat with Jo. Which is what she's going to do now, while Scott's off talking to someone.

"Thanks again for doing this," she says as she sits down, one elbow resting on the edge of the bar. "I'm sure the guys really appreciate it."
