[As he passes by, he accidentally brushes against one of the large stacks (apparently the great pastime of all Odinites is reading), and promptly straightens it before any of the books could come tumbling down.

Well, he was returning a book to the shelf. How could he not pass by her?]

Wouldn't it be easier to simply take books a few at a time instead of emptying the shelves altogether? Others may wish to read these books as well.

I don't need anyone at the moment.

[judgmental]

[Very well. She doesn't wish to reply. He doesn't even know if she can speak, as it's not unthinkable for someone to be incapable of it. He's not bothered by it, in any event.

He waits another few moments, and when the situation doesn't change, he rises. He's fairly tall, and it's not difficult for him to reach the jar.

Wordlessly, he takes it from the high shelf and sets it down on the counter before returning to his tea and his book.]

[Indeed, what is social interaction? A waste of time, unless it's advantageous to his greater goal...

Yuri does put in time at Odin House, because he doesn't want people to wonder too much about his secretiveness (not that they're likely to, but he's very cautious). He happens to be passing by in time to hear the voice call out.

He knocks politely.]

Anything the matter?

Our situation itself bears little resemblance to the stories. The names are the same, as are some basic qualities, but the similarities only go so deep.

The Æsir lived in Asgard, so where are they? The gods were never said to behave in this way.

[He nods.] You're quite right. Some found the gods in the welcome halls when they first arrived, but only the earliest arrivals. Since then, they've been scarce. Except for Odin's announcement, I don't believe they've been seen at all.

[judgmental]

[Sherlock froze Yuri's teapot, but Yuri doesn't particularly seem to care, instead defrosting the pot as well as the other things he needs with quick, careless movements of his hands, the flickering of flames faint and brief.

He then carries on as he normally would, making tea and breakfast, defrosting as needed.]

It never was going to cross my mind - the movies that the houses are stacked with aren't worth it in the first place. Though we might have to resort to those if nothing comes up.

[Miles glares at the pieces of the pane of ice he had created in the air. At least he could make them dissolve. Next, the bunch of icicles on the chair he had always practiced on would have to go.

Then he opens the door - oh, it was Yuri.]

I was...merely practicing, Judge Petrov. It seems I have learned a few new things about my power.

Do you not know the word efficiency? If I were to take books one at a time, that would be wasteful of one, the time I could be using to read other books and two, energy that I could be spending towards something else. In this case, reading more books.

But clearly, considering that you're simply standing there like a fool, minding other people's business instead of doing something more productive with your time, I would then think that you know little of efficiency.
