Pain is pain. Getting punched in the face as a vampire or a human hurts either way. The only difference is that the physical pain disappears all too quickly when one is a vampire, but it's different here. The pain stays with, and then -- and then it just keeps on hurting. Damon stumbles back a few steps and almost drops to his knees but he manages to right himself. The blood seeps out of the corner of his mouth and he wipes at it with the back of his hand before whirling around to grab Stefan by his collar so he can attempt to knee his brother in the stomach before shoving him to the ground.
They're almost equally strong because it doesn't matter that he's been feeding on human blood and Stefan's been on his diet of bunnies because blood only keeps them from desiccating and it serves no other purpose. But Damon's maybe a little more angrier, a little more determined to teach his brother a lesson.
"You could have gotten rid of me, but you were always too weak to do it back home. Now come on, brother." He waits for Stefan to make his next move. "Maybe I'm done being chivalrous. Maybe tonight -- I'll take what I want. If you don't stop me..." He wouldn't lay a finger on Elena, but he is so not done messing with Stefan.
