[Closed to Ianto Jones] The blare of the bracelet is alarming, as is the demand that follows, given by one of the 'gods' themselves, to get to the castle. Jack frowns and immediately fires off a private message over the network; Ianto's at work with Tosh, at the library, but they received the same alert and demand as well. There's a terse agreement that he'll wait at the house until the pair of them return, and they'll leave together, and then they disconnect.
In the meantime, Jack clears up the project he'd been working on, and checks in with Owen. Tosh and Ianto return, and when Tosh is ready before he and Ianto, who's getting Celyn, the dog Rose gave them awhile back, packed up, Jack sends Tosh off, with the promise to meet her at the castle. The only thing left now is to wait for Ianto to finish up and head out.
[Open to all: Immediately after the barrier goes up] He let go of Ianto's hand. He let go of Ianto's hand. He let go of Ianto's hand, and now the young Welshman is no longer at his side. He'd been holding on to the dog's cage with his left, to Ianto's hand with his right, as they made their way to the castle, because he'd be damned if he didn't make sure they got to safety for whatever the hell was coming, and then an entire group of panicked natives had all but slammed between them just before they hit the castle gate, with enough force that he'd had to let go. They'd had enough force, even, to drag Jack with them before he managed to grind himself to a halt a ways inside the gate.
Immediately, he'd started scanning the crowd, searching for those beautiful blue eyes, the always well pressed suit, and it'd taken him but a moment to find them- outside the gate. He'd called out, trying to push back through the ever growing, ever pressing, frantic crowd to get back to him, and then there'd been a shimmer of magic at the gate itself.
And then the water had come.
He didn't remember much after that, except the enraged shout that he had a vague idea had torn itself from his own throat as he dropped Celyn's cage and surged forward, struggling to get to the gate. Because he has to get through the crowd, he has to get to Ianto. He let go of Ianto's hand, and he refuses to lose Ianto like he'd lost Gray, all those years ago.
[Open to all: Anytime during the flood] He's watching the gate. Watching where Heimdall is holding the barrier. The barrier that's keeping the flood waters out, and the people in. The single thing preventing him from going out there to try and find Ianto, flood waters be damned. Anger courses through him, and it's threaded with heavy guilt and a self-loathing and hatred beyond words. Because the man he loves is somewhere out there in that water, instead of safe here inside the barrier, because he let go of his hand. And it's taking every single iota of willpower Jack has to not go out there after him. At his feet, scrabbling about her cage, Celyn whines for both her masters.
