the ceremony
The ceremony itself is a short, quiet affair. There is no need to speak to the Seven here, no need for the formalities of any kind of royal binding that might have required a lengthy discussion of vows or an exchange of lawmade contracts. Here, in Asgard, there is nothing but affection; Renly has been here for months, thinking on the matter, and Loras longer, thinking his lover long dead and perished. Their marriage is not something for alliances, for the watch of others, for them to judge and dismiss them as an obvious attempt to get a hand over another family. No, this marriage, the second and last Renly swears he will ever have, will be binding for the love that is shared between the two of them.

They exchange their cloaks, a rather muted affair as, in time with one another, they twist of the fabrics drawn by friends and offer it to one another's shoulders, sharing their Names and the protection of their Houses with one another. Their hands are bound, the Words are said and it is simply done -- far swifter than any other ceremony Renly has dared attend and one he had never dared think would ever come to pass. Too used to secrets, hushed whispers, rumour, being out in the open and watched with eyes that might judge him for his heart leaves him a little unsure, concerned, but he lifts his head and holds it high.

The Gods here care not, and he is already dead. What more can they do to him?
post-wedding party.
While the ceremony itself was a private affair, quiet and kept silent, for the most part, the party gathering is a little brighter. It is, admittedly, a little more muted than Renly might have onced imagined, the law on foods and entertainment limiting what he might do, but he doesn't much care. He is here, he is celebrating, and he intends to enjoy himself.

There is food, there is drink and, thanks to the implementation of technology beyond his imagining, there is music, too. The grooms dance, they drink, and they enjoy one another's company - and that of their friends, despite knowing there are some of those that are dear to their heart that are missing, taken from them by Asgard itself. (Renly would never admit to himself that he wished that, perhaps, Stannis could be here to see the event, both because he was the instigator and because he would rather love to rub the whole situation in his brother's face).

Renly greets his friends, his makeshift family (if he dares call it that) and, of course, takes part in spending as much time with those that offer kindness as he dares, but his eyes and his body are constantly drawn to Loras, drawn to his new partner's side, his hand never too far from the other man's. They are never far from one another, no longer willing to be parted now that they have pledged themselves.
