[ Was he supposed to be very bothered by being transported into a different world? He is surprisingly calm for someone who never have experienced time- or dimension traveling. But that's Yukihina for you.

He Slips out of his room, not even looking at his surroundings more than he already did the morning before. He took in enough expressions yesterday, anyway.

When he reach the stairs, however, he stops and trace his fingers along the rail in thought.

He might be over a hundred years, but he could not remember that he had ever had the power of controlling shadows. That was Rui's forte - and, well, her brother's, too, he guess. ]

..Rui's powers... does that mean she has mine, then..?

[ At least he still has his body as it should be - icy cold to the touch and he didn't feel any wear in it even though he hadn't actually slept any the more recent nights. ]

Her hat was back on, and she was infinitely more comfortable like that. She could deal with people learning her heritage soon enough, but life was a lot easier when it wasn't obvious. She'd give it a week to decide. Meanwhile, she was fixing something, and the smells of food sizzling could be heard coming from the communal kitchen.

Her head poked out of the doorway, looking down as she heard a voice somewhere in the distance. She couldn't tell what was said exactly, but her eyes narrowed in suspicion as they took in the young man. At the very least, he wasn't some monstrous thing. That was an improvement, at least in part.

"Neighbor."

[ He look up, and turn his head in her direction. Someone who also lived somewhere in this house, he assumed. ]

Hello.

[ Who she was, he had no idea about, however. Not that he much cared, but still. ]

This was not a house that she was finding was good at conversation. That suited her just fine, really. The less of it there was, the less stupid questions that she had to answer. At the same time, certain levels of pleasantries were helpful for avoiding the 'Hey, you' thing in a house filled with twenty or more people at any time.

God, she needed an apartment. Screw free food. She felt exposed with this many people around. "There's eggs if you're hungry," she muttered before her head disappeared back into the kitchen. The sound of toast popping in a toaster came just then. She didn't care what hour it was. She was in the mood for breakfast.

[ Remotely polite woman, enough polite to him. At least she's not throwing around insult upon insult, like ~~Code:Emperor~~ some people he knew did.

And as one who preferred to be by himself and didn't talk that much, it was just fine. ]

I'm not.

[ He was never hungry. Maybe that was something to be sad about, but he'd not been hungry even once after Heike killed him. He didn't really miss it, either. ]

"Fair enough," came the reply. It just meant there were more eggs for her in that case, and the dishes were entirely her responsibility. She flopped into a chair and salted the food liberally, a bit of butter on the toast. There was a crunch and she leaned back to look at him through the door again with a raised eyebrow.

"Coming in, or going out?"

[ He looked back at her again, and shrugged. ]

I haven't decided yet.

[ Didn't seem like there would be anything much of interest outside. Not that it was very interesting indoors wither, but anyway. ]

"Free country... or something," she said, growling and stuffing a piece of toast into her face. She wasn't going to be able to use that line in this place anymore, was she? That alone was an annoyance. It just reminded her even more that she was in another world, kidnapped and who knew what plots were roiling around that had brought her here. She chewed and swallowed, taking a swig of juice, trying not to dwell on what she knew she would anyway.

Don't know that yet.

[ And if it was, that would definitely be a first, considering he wasn't even supposed to exist in his own world. No proper freedom for the Code:Breakers. Which was why he preferred being a Re-Code, since they at least didn't follow Eden's rules. ]

"You always state the obvious? It's an expression. It means either option's fine, and you can do what you want," came a slightly annoyed response. "God, I'm going to have to learn a ton of new expressions, aren't I?"

I know it is.

[ Not answering the question, though, because it varies, really. Sometimes he does. ]

If you feel like bothering to do that.

"I prefer to know what a person is saying to me, or in my presence," she said, taking another bite and shoving it into her mouth to chew thoughtfully while speaking to someone in another room. She didn't continue on until she'd swallowed, thankfully.

"People use language to hide things from others they think don't know what they're saying."

It's not my problem if you do. [ He rarely care about other people, anyway. ]

If they do that a lot, I wouldn't bother with them.

Samantha grunted. "As long as they don't make themselves my problem, that works. I only trust that when I see them walking away," she said matter-of-factly. "But I'll agree that someone playing games with words isn't worth the time."

Hmmm...

[ So he finally settles on going inside the room as well. Not that he sits on a chair, though; he settle by the wall instead. ]

They tend to be annoying.

Samantha nodded towards a spot across from her. She was chewing on what looked like a sausage link and mulling over what to say next. Shrugging, she swallowed and looked at him. "I think that's a habit of people in general. We all get annoying at times, some just more than others. Liars are far from the only examples," she said.

[A shrug, again. ]

Well, they're the most noticeable ones.

[ And Yukihina knows and have met a lot of liars throughout the years. ]

"Yeah, they're up there definitely," she said, shoving some of the eggs in and chewing thoughtfully. She seemed to think about the situation a bit before swallowing and looked around. "Is it just me, or is there a whole lot of noticeable and odd running around this building?"

[ He thinks about that. Before talking to Samantha, Yukihina didn't really speak to anyone else. But he has seen the people running around the place. ]

I guess so. It's just to wait and see, I suppose.

"Yeah, I suppose. Hard to trust much of anyone in this place, honestly," she grunted and shrugged. Her eyes turned up to regard the man. He was just about as stiff as a board, and roughly as talkative. An eyebrow raised and she coughed once. "You're going to have kind of a tough time with this whole emotions thing, aren't you?"

[ Oh no, Yukihina is the most talkative there is. Only not. ]

Why?

[ He has feelings, just like anybody else. Just not.. very visible.. And he's still learning. ]

Reaaly? She cocked her head and raised an eyebrow, giving him a long and studious look. Admittedly, there were always the types who looked really cold on the outside and were practically boiling with emotions. Of course, she couldn't actually read minds, so she had no idea what was going on inside his head.

"Well, you seem more the deadpan quiet type, no offense."

...

[ Well... That was true... ]

None taken.

[ What did have to do with having trouble with emotions, though? ]

But I don't find being that troublesome.

She tapped her fork on the plate and scrunched her face a bit. Finally, with a nod, she took a sip from her glass and washed down the last she'd eaten. He had a point, or at least seemed to have one. Why should he be someone else?

"Yeah, I guess so. Just be whoever you're going to be. It's not like they've really given us any directions around here," she said.

I wasn't planning on anything else. And I wouldn't change even if I was told to.
