[OPEN] Change everything you are, and everything you were
Who: Ezio (
sicarius) and YOU
What: So someone's been asleep for his canon update and is now awake, and six years older. :|b TIME TO TROLL ALL THE PEOPLE.
When: Day 157!
Where: Odin, A Needle In A Haystack
Rating: PG-13 at most lmao
[Six years home. It was a struggle, an endless fight against the Borgia and the Templar. It brought work and success, draining any kind of touch it had against Rome and freeing the people against the taint of oppression. Ezio planned, strategized, built allies, and eventually ran the entire Assassin Order, teaching peace and training Assassins in the ways of the Creed. Now, here, it seems he has more work to do.
Depending on if you knew Ezio was asleep or not, you'll see him in one of two situations:
A. In the back room of the shop. He's been asleep there for the past few days, completely out and not even hitting him would wake him up. Now, in the early morning, just after sunrise, his eyes open and he realizes he's back in Asgard. He's quiet, doesn't make a sound, but he'll be sure to alert anyone should they be in the room, or nearby.
B. Later in the day, he's behind a counter in the store, marking off inventory, looking at the list before him. He's in modern attire, and looking spiffy as the owner. The shop is busy, but at a good pace, and one the Italian can keep up with. If you look carefully, you may notice the burn mark he has on his ring finger, on his right hand. But here you may find Middle Eastern culture, Italian flair, and a quaint mixture of both in this little part of Odin.
So come in, enjoy, visit. He's a gentle man, and one who smiles very easily, and often.]

A obviously
She's worried herself slightly mad over it, and it's made her angry at herself for getting this worried over some idiot Assassin, but she can't stop and so she's just kind of exhausted herself.
She's fallen asleep in the middle of reading a book on astronomy, a cup of tea on the table next to her long since fallen cold. Her clothes are wrinkled and she hasn't even thought about how her hair looks.
It's your welcoming committee, Ezio. Say hello.]
no subject
Softly, he approaches, careful not to disturb her or where she is, meticulous in avoiding something that will give him away too early. Then, he lightly places his forehead against hers, a grin on his face, and speaks in almost a whisper.]
Wake up, mia cara.
no subject
is that
she wakes up slowly, her eyes opening and blinking a few times as she regains consciousness.
...That's Ezio. Oh.
Good.
She sighs deeply.]
Did you have a nice nap?
[It's only mildly sarcastic. She's still a little bleary. She was exhausted, okay.]
no subject
If I did enjoy it, I cannot recall. I simply went home.
[A pause as he looks over his surroundings.]
Did you watch over me the entire time?
no subject
Most of the time.
Once Ichigo had found you and gotten you in the bed.
[Oh and there was that part when Malik showed up but she's... not going to mention that yet. She's actually momentarily forgotten about it. She's still not completely awake yet. Must have been sleeping more deeply than she realized.]
no subject
[Still, he allows Caterina her space, crossing his arms and giving her another grin.]
How long was I asleep, then?
no subject
[Aaand there, done stretching. She relaxes back into the chair, looking up at him.]
Two days.
[She's not upset about it at all.
Okay maybe there's a hint of bitterness there. She was really worried. Damn these stupid Assassins.]
no subject
[Again, he forgot about everything the second he went home. This place... he really doesn't understand it. He shakes his head.]
I am sorry to have worried you, mia cara. But I am glad I did not disappear this time.
no subject
So am I.
...how long were you... home?
[She doesn't like the way he said "I remember now."]
no subject
[There is a pause from when he speaks and when he looks back at her, the conflict apparent in his eyes.
He's not sure if he should tell her about the Castello. Or how she left after that. He hasn't heard from her in years.]
no subject
Six years is a long time.
She's not sure she wants to know.
She looks right back at him for a while, then sighs.]
No. Don't tell me. I don't want to know.
[Not if it involves that look.
She really doesn't want to know. So she looks away.]
no subject
Asgard has kept itself busy.
[An observation, more than just a question, really. But he's trying to understand what has gone on in his absence.]
no subject
Si. It's been something of a jungle, but that seems to be... passing.
...and we have some new arrivals.
[Ooooh yeah this is the part where she tells him. She's not exactly sure how she should break it to him yet though.]
no subject
[He doesn't sound surprised, more curious than anything. "New arrivals" usually means someone he knows, or at least is familiar with.]
no subject
Malik has returned, with no memory of being here before.
no subject
[It's said softly, but not as tense as he would have before. He's expected this to happen, but as to when or where, that remained unknown.
There is some comfort in him not remembering, however it does not provide much. It only means that Ezio will have to explain more, and carefully.]
If he does not remember, that makes it just as difficult as if he did.
no subject
[She shifts her position in her seat, smoothing out her skirt slightly.]
He came here, while you were asleep. He saw the shop, but nothing else. He's already spoken with Ichigo and Alice.
no subject
[Ezio pauses to think this over, jaw tightening slightly as he stands straighter. It's obvious that while he's bothered by this whole situation, he's actually a lot calmer than his previous self would have been. It's probably because back home, he is now Mentore, and runs as the head of the Italian branch.]
no subject
It's... strange, knowing that while she's been sitting here watching him sleep, he's been gone for six years.
Six years, and he's returned only two days after he left.]
No, he has not.
[He's changed, hasn't he? She can see it in his face, in his eyes.
She can't tell how much, though.]
no subject
Va bene. Though he has not seen it, I am certain he knows. If he comes again, I will greet him and show him what we created.
[Back then, he would have paced. Back then, he would have sighed and worried more. But now he simply stands, crosses his arms, and considers what may happen. Ezio realizes that the only way to establish trust and a good relationship with the Syrian branch is to be honest and open with his brothers, much more than he was when he first met them. Even if that means telling of his banning and acceptance back into the Order.]
no subject
He knows, but we have left the story for you to tell.
[She can't stop looking at him. The way he stands so easily, accepting the responsibility almost without thinking about it. She stands up, stepping closer to him, just. Looking at him. After a moment, she reaches up and touches his face with both hands, gently tracing a few lines that weren't there before.
The changes are subtle, but for her it's hard to take in, knowing the man who fell asleep and getting to know the man who woke up.]
...six years?
[It's almost not even directed at Ezio, as if she's repeating it to herself to make it make sense somehow.]
no subject
Six years, but I am still the same man you know, mia cara. I have not changed much.
[The differences are small compared to how much he has grown already here, he did not waste three years refusing to speak with Claudia in his arrogance. Yet still he is a different man, but it is not as startling or distressing as he believes it should be.]
no subject
But she can see he's right. He really hasn't changed dramatically, just... a little bit.
And now she is curious to know what happened. She sighs slightly and leans into him, just... glad to know he's not gone for good.
...but she's also jealous. He got to go home. Twice. And she's been here the whole time, never once getting to see her children or her city, just sitting around uselessly.
She hates being useless.]
I changed my mind. Tell me what happened.
