Who: Lancelot and Mithian
What: A knight and a princess talk about things.
When: Day 200
Where: The market.
Rating: VANILLA.
[ Mithian honestly does not understand the way some people act here. She is used courting, shy exchanges, walks and banquets, sometimes a feast or a ball of sorts. But here there is 'bars' and 'going for drinks', courting rituals she does not quite grasp. And her bewilderment is only magnified when she interacts with men who are interested in her. While most of them are mostly polite, there has been a time or two where they are quite crude.
And today, she runs into one of them. He is forward and bold, but when he deems it proper to try and press a kiss to her cheek having just met her in the market, he takes it a step too far. She pushes him away and starts down the street with with a growing frustration. So much so that she does not look where she's going and runs straight into a knight of Camelot, someone who is truly chivalrous.]

He blinks down at her, immediately coming back to his senses.]
Princess - I'm so sorry - are you alright?
no subject
I'm fine. I apologize, I was not paying attention to where I was walking.

[He inclines his head before her, taking note of the look on her face. She seems distraught.]
Has something happened, my lady?

Nor do I. Different worlds have different standards and it is difficult to understand at times. Would you like to speak of it?

[But for him to deal with it seems somehow easier - she is a lady, she should be sheltered from such behavior.]
Has anyone harmed you? Forced anything?
[Because if they did - they are in fact, dead. It's only a matter of time.]

She does pause.] Have some of the women been bold with you, sir knight?

[Her question creates a blush on his own cheeks; despite having talked things through with Raven, the memory of their kiss is still something he's quite apprehensive about.]
Different worlds will have different costumes.

[ She smiles at him and takes his blush as a yes.]
I suppose that is true, I am used to knowing the customs of other places but here... they are far different.

[He nods] It's quite an adjustment. May I perhaps buy you a cup of coffee? I can assure you no one will bother you while you are with me.
[He definitely looks threatening enough with a sword at his belt.]

[His eyebrows shoot up in surprise] I must admit it is one of my favorite things in this city. It is wonderfully energizing. [He offers her his arm]

Does this sort of thing happen often to you? [It's somewhat of a relief to know that he's not the only one who fell victim to modern habits. He wonders if the same happened to Arthur or Merlin.]

[It's not difficult to understand, he's sure he's missing so much more than what he catches and asks about. Life in Asgard can be ever so confusing at times.]
Although, it seems in another worlds or times gestures we take to be of love can be of many meanings.

[He nods] That is certainly the case with most. But I have found some gestures are given simply in gratitude or excitement.
[For example a full on kiss on the lips.]

[He smiles easily thinking of Raven; true their talk was anything but easy, the topics dark and frightening, but their feelings are. They have an instant camaraderie he's glad he did not lose.]

She had kissed me. On the lips.
[He'll just be looking on ahead at the road and not at her thank you very much]
