Who: Lancelot and Mithian
What: A knight and a princess talk about things.
When: Day 200
Where: The market.
Rating: VANILLA.
[ Mithian honestly does not understand the way some people act here. She is used courting, shy exchanges, walks and banquets, sometimes a feast or a ball of sorts. But here there is 'bars' and 'going for drinks', courting rituals she does not quite grasp. And her bewilderment is only magnified when she interacts with men who are interested in her. While most of them are mostly polite, there has been a time or two where they are quite crude.
And today, she runs into one of them. He is forward and bold, but when he deems it proper to try and press a kiss to her cheek having just met her in the market, he takes it a step too far. She pushes him away and starts down the street with with a growing frustration. So much so that she does not look where she's going and runs straight into a knight of Camelot, someone who is truly chivalrous.]

[His voice is certain, filled with conviction; he will not give up on her. She means too much to everyone he loves, to him. They will never be truly whole again so long as she is against them.]

[He feels so helpless, so useless, trying to convince someone when he knows nothing of their situation but guesswork seems nearly impossible. Yet again he finds himself resenting the Gods for the time from whence they chose to take him.]

[The hand away from hers clenches into a tight fist beside his body. Merlin's lived there without turning bitter, but Merlin has not lived there as long, nor was he of the royal family. Merlin's family knew and accepted him - his mother, Gaius, himself.]
Loneliness can create great horrors. But loneliness can be cured.

She cannot be lonely here.

[He shakes his head, he has no idea how to break through the walls surrounding her heart and it hurts so badly. She was the first to break through his insecurities. He wants to return the favor so desperately.]

[Oh look, the coffee shop at last. He opens the door for her and waits for her to enter, as appropriate for a gentleman to do.]

[He pulls out a chair for her, and waits for her to take a seat while the waitress leaves menus on their table.]

She will not listen to reason, that much I know. At least not from me. All she sees when she looks upon me is a red cloak of Camelot.

We must find some way to remind her that goodness still exists in this world.
