Writing mystery novels. Well, he couldn't well say that.

"I'm particularly good at synthesizing evidence, coming up with potential theories or motives behind the crime."

That wasn't a lie. Even though his theories were outlandish at times, sometimes he was right. More often than Beckett would care to admit.
