[CLOSED]
Who: Shion and Shu
What: Getting an arm replacement.
When: Day 100
Where: Sigyn
Rating: PG13
[The flood ended which meant Shu could get his arm that had been severed replaced. He'd been incredibly self conscious this whole time and while being operated on would be a pain it was something he needed to do.
For the time being he had just covered his missing arm with a long sleeve coat. However, it wouldn't work for a long time considering Summer was just around the corner. There was a determined look plastered on his face as he approached the counter. Then he asked Shion for to come meet him as soon as possible. Shion was someone he was well acquainted with so he didn't have a hard time communicating. After recovering his memories he would be able to do that much.]

Would you come to the back with me? It would be easier to talk there. [As opposed to the lobby....]

[They might attract attention too and it's better if they're in private. Then he waits for Shion to begin walking and would follow him soon after.]

What happened?
[There isn't really a delicate way to approach the situation, but at the moment, politeness is far from something on the front of Shion's mind.]
no subject
It's all in the past. We should focus on moving forward now.
[It was his own fault he got betrayed by everyone and it resulted in the loss of his arm. Shion doesn't need to know. Being able to move on means more to him than looking back in the past.]

Is it at the elbow? That would make it transhumeral. Do you know if it includes the socket? Was it properly amputated, or.... [He trails off, glancing to the side wall before stiffening his expression and looking back to Shu. His friend, his friend was coming to him for help. This wasn't the time to hesitate.] I'd like you to show me. I need to know the location.
I don't have the knowledge or experience to build a prosthesis, but I'm sure there's someone else in the city that does. Once you find that person, I'll try to install it. [However, his expression makes it clear that he knows very little about installing said prosthetic limbs. He's seen how they work, of course, and has a bit of knowledge on the subject since No.6 had always prided themselves on their incredible new technology and demonstrated it to the elite students regardless of their track, but nevertheless....
He frowns as if doing so will take back his previous statement.]
I'm not a doctor so I'm probably not the right person to ask, but if you get the procedure done, I'll be there. [Though he finds himself entertaining the thought that he may be able to pull it off if he reads a book on it. No big deal, right?]
I don't know if the technology here would allow for the creation of neurocognitive prostheses. They aren't as common anymore, but robotic or myoelectric prostheses would be your best options. Are there people familiar with that sort of thing here?

[Then he glances at the floor feeling a little uncomfortable. He doesn't want to go into detail about how he was betrayed and Gai was the one who stole the Void Genome. All of that resulted into the loss of his arm, and yeah no. He's not looking back. There's no time for him to think things over. That was something he realized on the front lines of battle as well. ]
After several minutes of hesitation Shu finally revealed his right arm. Or what was left of it at least. ]
Here. I'll show you.
[This was supposed to be his sin to bear. After what he'd done in Loop 7 asking Shion for help could be called nothing but inconsiderate. He felt that he didn't deserve anyone's help.
Carefully, he listened to Shion and made sure that he didn't miss anything important. His leader mindset was being put to use here. The leader front was something Gai did every now and then. Shu found himself emulating on occasion. All the technology seems fairly moderate. ]
Technology shouldn't be a problem. We can find someone. I can reassure you of that.
And then I took forever to tag. BUT I HAVE LOTS OF NOTES ON PROSTHESES NOW?
Transradial, then. You're fortunate that it's below the elbow. [Despite it seeming slightly out of place, he offers a small smile.] They'll definitely be able to do something for you. I don't know for sure, but I would think that someone here would know about prostheses. I couldn't do something like casting myself, but one of the doctors should be able to. [He's sure that there's someone here that can do that much. In spite of the fact that assistants such as Shion can replace broken bones with their healing power, the doctors here are extremely capable. Someone should be well versed in casting or molding.]
You're taking this well.
[If it can really be called that. Shu definitely seems.... different, and Shion has to keep himself from asking a barrage of questions. Now isn't the time for that, so he'll just concentrating on keep that slight smile on his face.]
THIS IS A GOOD THING..also i did a little research myself because WHAT DO THESE MEANN /cry
Sorry for troubling you.
[Entrusting this to a friend immediately after not seeing him for months made Shu feel somewhat guilty. As long as Shion was willing to help out it wouldn't be a problem. He felt overly demanding and decided it was best to let Shion handle the rest. ]
I just need to do what's necessary.
[Shu really had changed from when they last met. There's no longer any trace of hesitation that could be captured from his actions. He would seem much bolder after recovering his memories at home. ]
Can we start as soon as we find someone who can handle the process? Or is that too soon...?
I'm learning so much, wow.... AND I HATE THAT I LOST THIS TAG.
I can't say for sure, but since there haven't been many patients lately, I'm sure they'll be able to make time for you. I'll put in a personal request. [Not that he's in a position even remotely resembling authority, but....
Another few seconds of silence pass before he speaks up again, allowing his slightly forced smile to fade.]
Are you alright? [He doesn't really know how to ask properly, but his focus is no longer on Shu's arm.]
IT'S OKAY KERU! GO LEARN MORE ABOUT PROSTHESIS...
I can't ask you to do that for my sake. Surely you have more pressing matters to attend to.
I'm in your debt, Shion.
[The question had him thinking briefly. He wasn't alright. There were things weighing in his mind. It was certain that the apocalypse virus hadn't dissipated when he returned to Asgard. It could kill him if he wasn't careful.
Apocalypse Virus aside, he couldn't tell Shion about this. Not when there was so much he didn't know. Incidentally, thinking about all of this made him feel somewhat unsettled. Yet, that's quickly masked over with a stern look. He didn't allow himself to show any weaknesses. ]
I'm fine.
[He could do to be a little more friendly. Shion's smiling after all and he can amount to do the same. Return the smile back. Shion's a good friend of his and he wanted to show that he cared.]
JOIN ME ON THIS ADVENTURE, NAMI....
Don't think that way. You don't owe me anything. [He pauses briefly before his previously solemn expression shifts to a small smile once more.] Anyone would do something like this. Especially for a friend.
[However, it doesn't last long, and his eyes become more forlorn as he allows his smile to slip.] It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, but don't hide it from yourself.
ADVENTURES WITH KERU YAY
Thank you for being my friend.
[Shion's words seemed heavy to him for some reason. Perhaps he could tell that Shu had been uneasy for some time now. Tears made their way down Shu's face. Those tears were proof that something was wrong and he was only acting bigger than he really was. ]
ADVENTURES IN HIDEOUSLY LATE TAGS!
If you're going to thank me then it's only right for me to thank you as well.
[But as Shion realizes that tears have begun to slip down Shu's face, he steps forward and wordlessly places his hand on Shu's shoulder. Yes, he had done this before.... for a friend, the same way his own mother had done for him. Though he doesn't know if it will be of any comfort, the gesture seemed to come to Shion naturally and he remembered the warmth from his mother's hand. His own grip is firm but gentle and he hopes that some of his concern will somehow reach Shu. Questions wouldn't help at a time like this, and though Shion isn't particularly used to attempting to comfort others, it's the very least he can do for a friend.]
I'm sorry, Shu.
WOW THIS IS EVEN LATER
The warmth of friendship was something he knew he couldn't take for granted and because of that he fell silent for a few moments. ]
You shouldn't.
[Apologize for anything. Shu gave Shion a worried stare.]
