Who: Shion Uzuki and Varon
What: Bike building or the start thereof...
When: the day after the Cupcake Wars
Where: in a small alcove between Thor and Odin districts.
Rating: PG for language.
The early stages in building anything was to start with a plan. Varon had drawn up three sketches; one for the chassis design, another for the body and lastly the finished product concept. He never built a motorcycle completely from scratch before but he has worked with kits which really helped him with understanding how to put it all together. He needed the extra help and the expert mind of someone that knows how to draft up and create something from the very bottom. This wasn't Lego's.
Once he settled himself into work mode, he sent out a text to Shion explaining where he was and to bring a pencil. It could be some time so he made sure that he had something to eat with him at all times. He still cursed his fast metabolism. His backpack was always his survival kit but he felt like a glutton.
Still, there were more important things to worry about than some idiotic ability that seemed completely useless and out of control for the time being. At least this way, building something would help him focus and he hoped internally that Shion would benefit from this build too. He looked up just as he was about to take a bite of his apple...

"Hello there." She gave a short wave, and surveyed the surroundings. She appeared to be a little tired. In actuality she had slept well, but something about the lack of color left her feeling a little drained as well. She tried her best to appear completely normal, however.
"So, have you got anything drafted so far?"

He shifted his weight to sift through his backpack that contained various fruits and found his notebook. "Ah, shoulda stuck it in the front. Guess I was in a rush this mornin'." It was pretty much true now that he always seems like he's in a hurry.
"Let's see-" he paused for a moment, "Ah, here."
He flipped the pages over and shifted the front cover to the back. "Now, I think the most complicated part is the carburetor. It's got several valves in it that allows for airflow and restriction when the throttle is either open or closed. So there's gotta be a means for the cable to connect. The engine's simple enough. Then there's the tranny. I'm thinkin' of goin' chain drive."
He doesn't realize that Shion may not know about any of these parts he's rattling off. He was just excited to get started.

"What can I help with?"
Hopefully something she can handle. She can wing it with a lot of things, but she doesn't want to ruin someone else's project.

"Ah, how good are ya with clay?" Making a scale model can work too. At least it would give a visual representation of what he has in mind.

But she did have an idea. "I wonder if there's a library here... If we had a network more like the UMN, we could look things up that way, but since we don't, we could pick up books with some schematics, or even just pictures of the parts we need. It would be much easier to cast molds that way, don't you think?"

"I've only been there once but are you sure they'll have everything available for the build? I'm a bit worried that the gods might get the info mixed up." He certainly hoped that all of the information and schematics drafting would be there. At the very least, he'll learn it and he may be able to repeat it.

Working on the schematics was certainly going to be the challenge. Might as well roll up his sleeves and give it a try. "Any books on algebra?" Torque was another factor.
