I dug a hole so deep I'm going to drown in my mistakes (Closed)
Who: Samantha Grey, Merlin, Regina, Hisao Nakai and Ritsu Sohma, possibly one or two more... (PM if interested)
What: Someone has to stop her from making a mess of things...
When: Day 142
Where: A House in Baldr District abandoned during the last of the darkness days
Rating: PG-13, but Trigger Warnings for Violence, Classic Death Traps (Pendulum), kidnapping and the use of chloroform. Possibility of Character Death (Samantha only)
(OOC: Because right now, we're at five people in this thread theoretically, I'm going to risk just doing one big thread and a possible side thread for playing out Samantha's abduction of Hisao. The confrontation, theoretically, won't be a very long one. Loosely speaking: Hisao, feel free to reply whenever you wish, and let's do Bad Guys followed by Good guys followed by Bad Guys etc...)
Samantha stood there, amused at her conversations with a few people. She sent a private message to Ritsu, hoping that the silly, apologetic little thing would actually come by regardless of her public post earlier. He was, after all, quite impressionable and she knew for a fact that he didn't have the will to seriously impede her powers. Having access to a proxy would be helpful, given that she really didn't expect this whole gambit to work.
She stepped over towards the table in the basement, taking a look at her captive and smiling before she brought out the smelling salts. As she did, she looked up at the crude looking pendulum she'd constructed. It wasn't elegant, like the real thing, but it would do the trick. Giving the rope a little tug to untie it, she let it start to swing. The whole apparatus was a bit unstable, but it would do in a pinch hopefully. "Good evening, Hisao. You might want to wake up to see if your rescuers arrive in time," she purred.

This was what she'd warned him about, wasn't it? He'd accepted her invitation to meet up and he wasn't even sure what had happened. But he wasn't so dense that he couldn't put two and two together and come up with four - this was Evil Samantha's Night Out, wasn't it?
He could feel himself lurching from side to side and forced his eyes open - he was tied to some kind of big swing. Hows and Whys started to race through his mind but really, those were inconsequential when compared with the Who.
"Sam... Samantha.... Let me down." he said, doing his absolute level best to force some authority into his voice despite the fact that he was scared witless. His heart was racing - not fast enough to be a problem yet, thank the Gods, Medication and Morning Runs for all the improvement he'd made, but still. This kind of stress wasn't going to be easy on him for too long.
"This isn't you, I promise it's not. Let me down and I won't tell anyone, OK?"
no subject
But why here, of all places? How curious. Maybe she was so ashamed of him that she didn't want to see him in public. Yes, that made sense. He stopped at the door, and knocked twice. "Miss Samantha?" he called out, hoping he wasn't being too loud or interrupting anything important. "It's Ritsu... am I too late? Or too early?"

Leaning over while the blade whisked by the first time, a good foot above Hisao's body for the moment, promising that there was time yet. She ran her fingers along his ear and came close to whisper and flicker her tongue right there. "You know this is me perfectly well Hisao," she purred. "I've warned you ample times about what I am. Please... if they don't come in time, feel free to scream sweetly for me. You have such a lovely voice."
As soon as she could see Ritsu, she would unstopper but not drink the draught, reaching out with her will to try to take control of him. She wanted someone innocent involved in this to keep anyone who might have been not long behind him at bay.
(OOC: The good guys may feel free to enter. Hisao, post whenever you like. We'll go Regina/Merlin and then Ritsu/Myself if that works for folks.)

That poor guy - He already had a million problems just dealing with himself, let alone all this. He wanted to scream to warn the other boy, but really, what good would that do? Scare him? Make him run down here to see what was wrong? Or to just blame himself a million times for everything?
"Send him away, Samantha - you can do whatever you want with me, OK? Just send him home. He doesn't need this."
He struggled against the ropes binding him there but it was really no good at all - they were viciously tight and strong. Sweat was building on his brow and stinging his eyes, and he could feel his chest becoming tight.
"I'll do whatever you want - just don't involve anyone else."
no subject
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you had other guests." He said as he found the basement, and headed down. "Are they friends, Miss..."
... A pendulum. Hisao.
Hisao was under a pendulum.
Okay, if this was a nightmare, now would be a damn good time to wake up. Blood began to drain from his face, and the strength in his legs was fading. "Ah... ah... ah..."
sorry for the late tag
Comes the very bored voice of another half-demon. She's been watching for a few minutes, gazing upwards towards the pendulum. Well, that was new, she inwardly mused. She hasn't really moved an inch, but she couldn't help it when she recognized Samantha's voice over here. Very visibly, she gives a sigh, looking down at her spear, that she gives a small slap into her palm.
"Really, is there any other easier way for you to catch your prey, dear? You're starting to make us look bad."
no subject
He had a very bad feeling about all this, given what he remembered of Samantha's last venture through her other side.
"Samantha, we talked about this, remember? You can fight it."

"Aaaaany possibility someone can stop the giant blade that's swinging around above me, there? I would actually really appreciate it?"
He tilted his head so he could see a little better. Actually, he did sort of know one of them - her name was Regina, wasn't it? He'd spoken to her on the network a few times and got the distinct impression that she didn't like him much. Maybe this wasn't quite the blessing he'd anticipated it being.
no subject
"You'll have to forgive me, my dear watcher. I already caught this one some time ago. I've been meaning to see if anyone would come to his rescue, or if he would die of one fate or another first," she explained, tail lashing about behind her. "And I'm afraid, Merlin, that you're going to find I am far more ... lucid than I usually am at a time like this. It will take a better attempt than that to sway me."
no subject
But despite his fervent belief, he suddenly found himself hugging onto Merlin's arm in an attempt to stop him from going any further. "I-I'm so sorry!" Tears were already brimming in his eyes, but that would really be the only struggle the wizard would face - Ritsu's body was quite weak and frail, so pushing him aside would be easy. "I-I don't understand... what's going on?!"
sorry for the hold up, guys
Regina will make that pretty clear, especially to Merlin; it's nothing personal. After all, she likes to think that she knows best in this situation. She's like her, they have so much in common.
She can't connect with her through her senses, but at the very least, Regina is approaching her, setting her eyes on only her. She may come off as uncaring for the situation, but that's far from the truth.
"I really don't care either way, truth be told. I care more about our image. Our self-preservation . Isn't there something else you can do than to use... that?"
She gestures t Hiaso vaguely, "It's so boring. Listen to them, this is ridiculous."
it's all right <3
He doesn't try to break free from the grip just yet, as it's not tight enough to hurt. Instead, he gives the room a quick scan, judging if he has enough time to get to the unfortunate man strapped under the contraption if the blade does fall.
"Do you think you stop her?" Merlin says to Regina, voice soft, lips barely moving. If anyone in the room has a chance, it would be the only other person with demon blood in them, especially when his power does nothing for offense and he left his bow and quiver back in the house when he stopped by for a visit. Hopefully this other side of Samantha doesn't come equipped with enhanced hearing.
Totally fine!
Regina, that is probably not a word he would have used for this situation. In fact, he was becoming less bored by the second, considering the pendulum was swinging lower and lower on each arc.
no worries!
"Boring? A matter of opinion, though a little bit of melodrama was quite the intention on this occasion, I assure you my darling Regina," she said, sneering right back at her. I'm afraid though if you're hoping to protect our collective reputation, you'll want to speak to me tomorrow I'm sure. In the meantime, the clock is ticking for our little friend here. Although... I suppose we could just watch him die."
That might actually be fun. She reached over with a hand, standing such that she was still barring the path to the mechanism of the pendulum. Her one hand gently ran up underneath Hisao's chin while she used her will to try and have Ritsu body block Merlin into the nearest wall to keep him thoroughly busy. His days of ignoring the boy were nearly over.

She actually laughs. If this is actually going to stop, Regina knows she has to tap into her own demonic nature. For a second, the white on her eyes turn black, reflecting an almost animal-like glow in her eyes. But of course, the first thing Regina does is encircle around, like a wolf, slowly pushing herself further.
"Heh, then the lot of you better make due, otherwise it won't be my friend here making the mess!"
She makes a point not to give a hint other than licking her lips and without hesitation, Regina makes a bound towards Samantha herself, lunging at her to shake that hold off of Ritsu and the others.

Then, a chance presents itself. When Regina's sudden attack seems to change the situation, Merlin seizes the opportunity to break free from Ritsu's grip. It's temporary, he knows, unless he finds some way of incapacitating the other Traveler without harming him. Well, he'll deal with that when Ritsu catches him again. For now, Merlin makes a grim dash for Hisao.

To say Hisao sounded relieved was an understatement - he also sounded incredibly nervous. This thing was rickety and if it was handled the wrong way, he was deathly afraid that the blade could come down on him anyway. His face was white as a sheet and covered in sweat, rolling down into his hair.

The half demon could see her trying to pull away, claws snaking out and aiming to lash right back. She knew that this little game of hers was not going to end terribly well, but she wanted to at least try and make it seem like some effort was put into the fight. She didn't like going down easily.
That line about preferences, though, had her grinning low. "I've always preferred evisceration personally..."

Hit the floor, cover his head with his hands, apologize profusely, and cry. To be fair, he was still incredibly confused as to what was going on and didn't even know how to stop the pendulum or release Hisao. So he stayed on his knees, keeping his head down, trying not to get in the way, all the while being a loud nuisance.
lemme know if this is NOT okay
The somewhat taller, pale woman still comes down on her with her with such force, not even hesitating to sink her teeth, hard, into her flesh enough to take a small chunk out of her arm. Half-demons don't have a good taste, so Regina spits out what she's taken, blood already coming out of her mouth. Who cares if she looks demonic.
She is.
She doesn't smile, she just gestures to her, "Cod ar dy draed, ferch fach," Get up, little girl, she purrs, "I'm hungry."
TJ - Merlin's up after this
She was up on her feet in a split second, bounding at Regina, a maddened gleam in her eyes. She lunged with her clawed talons to try and wrap her fingers around the demon's throat and slam her down to the ground if she could manage it. One arm was decidedly less strong than the other, but she didn't seem to have noticed, her eyes filled with the unmistakeable look of arousal.
"I like you," she hissed. "But if you're really hungry, chew before you swallow!"
no subject
Forcing himself to turn away, Merlin takes a deep breath to steady his shaking hands and work at the ropes. He pauses every few moments to study the knotting to make sure he doesn't somehow make it worse.
"Almost done, I think," he says to Hisao quietly, trying to ignore the blade that continues to swing lower. "What happened?"
no subject
"She's my friend usually - she invited me over for coffee using the audio on her bracelet. I showed up and she slapped a rag over my face and I fainted. Then when I woke up... well... here we are."
no subject
Her face contorts to something else. Her body snaps a few times as a snarl comes from her mouth as her teeth become more akin to fangs as dark veins start throbbing in her face. The white of her eyes turn black. Her eye is filled with something else, something sadistic and unforgiving.
"Once more, girl, I dare you. I'll do more than than swallow, I'll tear you to shreds!"
That sudden spurt of demonic rage is momentarily as Regina grabs her spear in a defensive stance.
"Whatever it is that the three of you are doing, make it quick!" Regina's tone returns to normal; the previous display was more intimidation. A natural side affect of her mind just begging to end this a bloodier way. Thankfully, Regina can restrain herself for now.
no subject
He eyes the pendulum, which ominously slips another few inches, before giving Hisao a gentle push toward the door.
"Better go quick, and take the other one with you," he said, nodding toward Ritsu. "I should stay behind in case Regina needs help."

Why was her foot shaking?
"Oh hell..."
2 of 2
Collapsing to the stone floor, there was a twisted, if vapid, smile on her face. This had been an amusing little game. One more giggle and it looked like Samantha was losing consciousness.
(OOC: for simplicity, I think it's time Sam went night night. Too much and we would have gotten confusing. Any and all of you are welcome to post as you please in wrap up, or assume it.
Thanks, btw. I know multi-person threads are hard to manage. You guys actually did quite well with how many were involved. I appreciate it.)
