The spin wrenches his left wrist quite a bit and he hisses through his teeth, but considering the combined insanity of Anon and Cloud it's pretty much a damn miracle that he gets on a dragon in one piece and doesn't immediately fall off writhing in pain.
Of course, the stupid dragon hasn't even paid attention to him still, which says something about how little it feels threatened and immediately gives Cloud a sinking feeling. Cloud knows when something's not going to work (usually) so rather than be a complete maniac, he plays it as safe as a maniac currently situated on top of an airborne dragon can, gripping on with his left hand while using his right to take out his nail bat and bashing away.
It's not very long at all for the creature to take some notice of this and start twisting its foot to knock him off, at which point Cloud does the first smart thing he's done all this thread: cut his losses and jump off to the high ground, immediately rolling behind a convenient pile of rubble for the fire he knows will come. ]
