WELCOME TO ASGARD (part two) [OPEN]

 Who: EVERYONE!
What: Getting introduced to the city
When: Day 1, around noon
Where: The castle plaza and the Welcome Halls
Rating: Worksafe -- If this changes, please inform the mods.

[Welcome to the city of Asgard. Now that you've woken up and been given your welcome instructions (as per the FAQ), what will you do? There are a good number of other new arrivals being shown to the gates, and for today the plaza that surrounds the castle is open for mingling. You could also head to your Welcome Hall (details here) and meet your Housemates if you'd like. Whatever you decide to do, have fun getting settled into your new home!]

(ooc note: there will be threads below for the plaza and each House. Mingle and get to know your fellow Travellers! This is a continuations post, but by all means feel free to start new threads.)

[ Kaz will definitely be hanging out here today. After meeting his housemates? He needs the fresh air. He also needs to find someplace in town that sells cigarettes, but for now he'll settle for skulking through the crowd, looking for anything and anyone of interest. ]

((reposted from original thread, since it was dying out.))

[It's hard to say what one will see when they look at Mako Nakarai - she's feeling so many things at once that any one single emotion may be visible, or it may be a confused and confusing blend of all of them.

She looks lost, of course, as everyone does. She looks a bit dazed, occasionally holding her hands in front of her face and staring at them or smoothing said hands over her abdomen. She looks so deeply, deeply sad that she will apparently be starting a whole new life without her first, best and only friend, her mother.

Most of all, though, she looks sickly. She hasn't slept or eaten properly in days, and in that diminished state, she was forced to battle a giant robot and save the world. Her pudgy prepubescent cheeks hollowed out with hunger and fatigue, her eyes shadowed with dark rings, she stands in a corner of the living room and watches all of the other new arrivals mill about with apprehension. She doesn't feel strong enough to approach anyone yet; they may not know, but she still fears that they will somehow sense what the others believed - that she is not right, she is inappropriate - and will reject her.]

[there is definitely a certain robot tiny wandering around Loki house on this, the first day; not a cabinet in the house (besides, obviously, the ones in the bedrooms above) goes unopened in his exploration and investigation.

he doesn't appear to be looking for anything besides "what's there", and, once his curiosity has been satisfied (or thoroughly confirmed to be dissatisfied and likely to remain so), he only pauses in the kitchen long enough to make himself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or two before moving back in to the living room, where he settles down with - a chessboard, looking for all intents and purposes like he's eager to play ... himself.

say hi?

[ Well, this was new.

This young maid is wandering around the Freyr house, wondering what has become of everyone she knew. There was so much going through her mind that she'll bump into a wall or a door and apologize to it at the same time.

It was so different here than in the mansion back home. It intrigued her, yet frightened her at the same time. She would give anything to talk with someone, to at least know she wasn't alone in this place. ]

You don't seem to be one of the maids here... Excuse me, have you been brought here, too?

[identity profile] abandonedoath.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
--!!

[ Was that a voice she heard? She turned to the owner of the voice, relieved that there was someone else around here. ]

U-Um, hello there. Correct, I was brought here, you as well? Do you know what's going on?

[identity profile] eatscreepypasta.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I was brought here as well. I really only know a little beyond the basics, though.

[And Ayumi takes a deep breath, since this is going to take a while.]

We've apparently been brought here to "bring life to the city", and the people in charge have no intention of letting us leave until we achieve that. For that purpose, we're allowed to stay here, and everyone gets their own room.

As for how we're expected to achieve the goal we've been given... So far, we haven't been given any information beyond "live". Someone else who arrived here spoke to the person in charge of this place and uncovered that we're expected to find work while we're here, though.

Everyone aside from people brought here is... quiet. The maids around here will only speak if you talk to them, and will only answer things like directions. Attempting to get more detail out of them will just have them repeat what's in the letter, or just ignore you.

[And Ayumi sighs at this point.

Honestly, the maids around here are more like ghosts than people.

[Careful explanation or not, it was still rather confusing to suddenly be in another world without consciously being the one to move himself there. Especially when he had been several hundred feet in the air above his sleepy little town.

Iprottaalfurinn had claimed a small perch on the house, his legs wrapped around one of the porch rafters, and was doing a few pull ups to let his mind think freely. Stolla and Googie were not here- he knew that. So no help from there.

There were others here but they were neither children nor in danger so he avoided them for the moment. How odd.]

456...457...458...ah. This really isn't helping.

[He flipped off the roof and the porch, dusting his hands and poking at the crystal on his hat. Silent. Completely.]

[identity profile] abandonedoath.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
To live...?

That's pretty vague isn't it? Living is what we're doing right now, isn't that right? ...or are we perhaps... dead?

Ah... Well, what does count for working? I've only served at a mansion, so all I know is from working shifts there.

G-Ghosts? Oh my.

[Lirael might not have been too sure about this whole place, but she never could put off exploring, so here she is, poking and prodding about her new home. It isn't really very big, is it? Not compared to the housing halls of the Clayr, or the Great Library, but there's enough for her to stick her nose into, at least for now.

She's still wearing her rose-colored surcoat, embroidered with silver keys and golden stars, and she's still wearing her sword and the bandolier across her chest with all seven bells. Just in case. So maybe she's not entirely sure that they don't work here, despite not being able to reach the Charter-- the source of her magic. Maybe they're just for her own peace of mind. But they're not coming off any time soon.]

[There's a rather short girl - or maybe a boy? - wandering around the house. The letter had been clear enough, and the maid had been able to answer a few questions, but Hana still wanted to look around for herself. This place was nothing like Kyoto, but there was no guarantee Iemitsu or assassins weren't around.]

[If it was true, that there was no way back... What was everyone going to do without her? But for the moment, Hana was going to inspect the kitchen. Having a food supply was important, after all.]

[Same as before, he's watching everyone tickle in from his spot on the porch roof.

[All of these people are vastly interesting to Freyr. He's grown bored of the view from the window, but he's still here and there in the house, trying ot mingle.

If the last log is lagging out, you can post links to your previous threads and I'll continue here.]

[The more that pour in, the more he's sure he doesn't care what they do, individually. As the day goes on he's still at the front gate now and then, but mostly he's absent.]

[Despite his feeling his own fatigue, Aaron glances at the girl before him. She looks young and lost. It's an expression he's seen before, more than a few times on his travels prior to arriving in Rota and proclaiming that kingdom as his permanent home.

[Approaching her quietly and well within her line of sight, Aaron studies her intently. When was the last time she had a bite to eat? He nods to himself briefly and makes a small detour toward where kitchen and the bowl of bread he spotted on the counter. He grabs two pieces and returns to where she is, noticing she hasn't moved.

[When he reaches her, Aaron smiles gently and offers a piece of bread.]

Would you like a piece?
