[ he goes to the rooftop from time to time, to watch the stars and the moon, but also to take photographs of the night-sky since Kaworu is gluing them to the ceiling of his bedroom. While his cat Zadkiel hated to come along with Kaworu, his second cat (a kitten, actually) was more than happy to follow.

Sitting on the roof, the angel watches the moon with the kitten purring loudly in his arms after he took few pictures.

It's peaceful, like that. After such a big battle, it felt good to rest like this, under the stars.] ]

I did answer. "A natural satellite which is in synchronous rotation with the planet, formed out of the debris left over from a collision between the Earth and a foreign body". [ that's what he literally sees. ]

You... actually meant that.

[He shakes his head disapprovingly. That doesn't sound like fun, Kaworu. Not fun at all.]

Remind me to never play "finding shapes in the clouds" with you. We can't let all that evil imagination invade your brain.

[Jack is the first one to admit (and complain) that books aren't accurate when it comes to myths, but this is a little too much off in his opinion.]

Yeah, you know - looking at clouds and trying to guess what they look like. A dog or a shoe or whatever.

Ah- [ you can do that? Kaworu blinks, and if it wasn't night, he would immediately turn to the sky to do that. But alas, it's night.

Still he smiles. ]

Doing such things is really amazing. [ to him, it is. Because it is true when he says he doesn't have imagination.

Kaworu might actually have some if he tries, but it's never like a human. ]

[Jack is really confused - and a part of him may be feeling a bit of pity, too. How can someone live without imagination? It's important for games, to have fun. Jack wonders what would Sandy say, with him being a master of making up things.

And that thought makes him ask.] Can you dream?

[ Kaworu tilts his head curiously. ] I remember. My dreams are memories.

[ he doesn't really dream per say. ]

Even here in the city?

[The question is out before Jack even thinks about it. At home, he really didn't dream, either. But since the gods made him more or less human, his body has been different - weird. And he's curious to know how it has affected others.]

[ kaworu nods ]

Before, I didn't need to sleep, so I rarely did. Since I came to the city, because this body needs rest, I sleep every night. And I remember.

[2cool4guardian]

[Well, doesn't that sound familiar. Jack was in the group of "rarely slept" too, so this has his complete attention. Maybe he will be less defensive now.]

I don't need to sleep every night yet but... I think I'm dreaming. [He frowns.] Their changes to our bodies are really random...

I'd say they made us quite human in a way.

Does it bother you, these changes?

Noooo, I'm perfectly happy with them.

[This time is not only sarcasm in his voice, but also a lot of frustration and even a bit of bitterness.]

Of course they bother me! I don't know my own body!

[ Kaworu smiles simply at that, before he turns to his kitten again, petting it. ]

Do you dislike this place?

[Jack is about to answer, but thinks twice before doing so (mark this day on the calendar, fellows). He glances at the windows he checked on before finding Kaworu - all those children, and hell, even the adults too... everyone can see him here.]

...I dislike war. I dislike higher-ups how think they can do whatever they want with us.

[ Kaworu smiles. That's not really what he asked, but it's alright. ]

I... I don't know.

[Too many mixed feelings to get a good answer out of it. But it seems they have some things in common, right? Maybe Kaworu can do better.]

To be here or not, it doesn't matter to me.

However, I do enjoy this place quite a lot. I have learned much since I came here.

[Jack squints his eyes, not quite getting it. Kaworu, why so confusing.]

If you enjoy it then it matters to you.

I find joy in most things, to be perfectly honest. [ There is a reason why he is called a weirdo. ]

The place matters to me, but if I exist here or not, it doesn't. When I say it doesn't matter, I speak about my position in this place, not about my feelings for it.

Why wouldn't you want to be in a place you have feelings for?

Because it's not important. [ your staring, Kaworu is used to it. ] I'm not important, that's why.

And home isn't important either? [If it's not Asgard, there's some place this guy would like to be at... right?]

It is, but it can be without me. [ Kaworu pets the kitten once again ]

[Jack literally facepalms. He feels like they're going in circles.]

I'm asking how you are, not it. Like... the place you want to be at. That's more or less what you asked me.
