Fly me to the moon [Closed]
Who: Kaworu Nagisa and Jack Frost
What: Night time at a rooftop
When: Night of D284
Where: At the rooftop of Kaworu's house
Rating: G
[ he goes to the rooftop from time to time, to watch the stars and the moon, but also to take photographs of the night-sky since Kaworu is gluing them to the ceiling of his bedroom. While his cat Zadkiel hated to come along with Kaworu, his second cat (a kitten, actually) was more than happy to follow.
Sitting on the roof, the angel watches the moon with the kitten purring loudly in his arms after he took few pictures.
It's peaceful, like that. After such a big battle, it felt good to rest like this, under the stars.] ]

[ Kaworu looks down at his lap, Asariel rubbing against his hand as he pets it again. ]
Things like that.
[ the red eyes turn to Jack again. ] When you are young, you haven't met all the pain you will feel. It's not that you will feel all the pain it exists as you grow up - but as you do, you will continue to feel it through the years, more and more.
It's inevitable.
Thus, their imagination - the lack of it, as you call it - simply shifts to the reality they know and hope to make that reality better. Else it will just hurt. And no one wants to feel pain.

Not every single adult out there has gone through all that stu--
[Oh boy. Growing up and absorbing pain? He may know a thing or two about that, and he doesn't like what Kaworu is implying.]
You know how you fight pain? With fun. That's how. Not getting addicted to responsibilities. They're just making things worse.
no subject
But even so, doesn't it justify why an adult would no longer care for imagination? ]
Perhaps. But after a while., what you'd think to be an easy thing to realize, it's not. It becomes blurred and it's difficult to even think "That's it. That's what will make me happy".

He runs his fingers through his hair. A while? try three hundred years of no human contact, Jack thinks. Try that and keep laughing after it. He won't say it out loud though.]
They don't stop doing what makes them unhappy either.
no subject
They don't. [ there was a time when Kaworu didn't mind killing every human alive exactly because of that. Because they always try so hard to be happy to erase their pain, but it doesn't succeed because they still only feel pain; so why not just erase all of them and completely erase their pain?
There was a time.
After, Kaworu just came to love them deeply. ]
And sometimes, they can't stop it.
After so many years of living, they still don't know how to live. Everything is trial-error to them. But you see, there is comfort in what they know and there is pain in the unknown; pain that may hurt them even more than they are hurting right now.
And that's why they won't stop and they decide to reject the unknown. Even if there can be happiness in the unknown too, the simple idea of pain will make them reject it.
[ the angel shrugs lightly, smiling. ]
"Being human" is quite paradoxical.

[Sorry, Kaworu, he's an old man who thinks he's seen how everything works. Fuck humanity and all that jazz.]
no subject
Do you love anyone?

ha get itand for a moment he just stares at Kaworu. Damn it, why does he have all this... questions. Ugh.]...what does that have to do with anything?
no subject
I think it has a lot to do with it. With how people act, with how people are and how people think. Bonds with other people. The bonds they fight to protect, the bonds they want to keep safe. Bonds they don't wish to let go no matter what.
Would you throw yourself to the unknown knowing that the unknown may damage those bonds? [ Kaworu picks up Asariel that now seems to have woken up and was attempting to jump off the roof
dumb cat]It's true. It may not ruin them. It may even strengthen them. But the fear that otherwise will happen is much bigger than that. because they are so important to them; love is important.
no subject
If it's unknown, you can't know what it can do to your bonds.
[That may sound a little like self-defense, oops.]
no subject
But the fear lingers. [ Kaworu looks up at the moon. ]
No matter what sort of amazing things it may bring you, there will be that fear, wondering if you will damage those bonds.
no subject
And you said all that while looking at the moon. Irony much?
no subject
I'm sorry you dislike it so much.

Why are you apologizing for him?
