[ Lydia had been trying all that morning, her first attempt at using her power. She'd had nothing planned for the day, and it seemed to her that if they were going to be put in this 'war' situation that she needed to know how to be able to defend herself, even if she couldn't see how with 'ice magic' but she didn't want to be caught unaware.

Although when Lydia had used everything in her room that she actually dared freeze (which had taken most of the morning for surprisingly how little she'd used - just small things, she'd had a lot of failed attempts) she'd needed something else. Cue Stiles. Although she hadn't planned on telling anyone until she'd got a handle on it but, other than needing something else, part of Lydia wanted an opinion on it. She'd gotten it to work some of the time (and that was only with Stiles help) so, other than him being closest, it was why she'd text him. All she needed now was for him to show up ]

[ Lydia sat down on the bed behind where Stiles was working as she waited for him to 'work his magic' ]

Not so sure about everyone working there, though.

[He was working his magic, Lydia. It was just... slow. A single flame was hard to use to warm up the washcloth.]

I won't be. [Not even with her working there.] I'm going to look for something else. Something less... Isaacy.

I guess that would be an upside - less Isaac.

[ When she eventually gets another job (as this was supposed to be temporary) she would enjoy that, but for now she's finding very easy ways of dealing ]

One day I'll get that.

Scott said Derek worked there before, too, so avoiding the pair of them together is sort of a life goal of mine.

Hopefully him working there before doesn't mean he'll come back. [ Because she would like that very much, okay, extra less Derek ] It's a shame he couldn't just... disappear forever. [ And this is even without knowing all the crap that he's involved in. And her ]

So... how's it going? [ And for this she means the cloth ]

Yeah, that's something we're all holding our breath for.

[For all the good it would do them. When had wishing ever done anyone any good, right?]

[Meaning that the formerly frozen cloth was now an unfrozen but wet one.]

Great. That was faster than I expected.

[ Which actually isn't a dig at him just more a comment on how she wasn't sure how quick the powers worked, although it didn't take too long to freeze, but melting it could have been longer ]

I guess now I freeze it again?

[ What was the whole point of her inviting him around, but she was open to any suggestions ]

Maybe see if you can only freeze parts of it? Freezing the whole thing seems easy enough and you seem to have been practicing that, but try controlling it. Only doing the edges of it. Or half.
