Ain't no party like an S Club party
Who: Everyone!
What: Party!
When: Day 319
Where: Stride club in Freyr District
Rating: PG?
[ As advertised earlier in the day, the Stride club has been set up for a city-wide party. Entrance is free and unlike their usual days of business, it is not limited to teens or those perceived to be in their teens.
There are drinks (both with or without alcohol) at the bar with plenty of seats or tables for people sit around, as well as a dance floor with music provided by the two resident Striders. Off in a back corner is a gaming area- a selection of arcade machines as well as a pool table in the centre.
Have fun!]

But some...he hesitates and pulls out a picture of Jake English. Jake has his glasses off in the photo. He stares at the viewer with surprise written all over his face. He'd been cleaning his glasses when Dirk had taken the shot.] This is my best friend. He vanished too.
[As grissly and wild as Jake looks, he's such a pushover but Dirk doesn't say that either.]
He might be less of a hermit when he returns.

[Ones she's rather not dwell on the implications of, really, because even with that much information her mind is whirring.]
[His hesitation goes unquestioned, although perhaps not unnoticed, and she turns her eyes readily to the new picture - at least until that last part. Best friends, vanishing - and that 'when', they're things. she's quite familiar with, at the moment. She does not point out that 'when' is a rather hopeful way of putting it. Straightening,]
I'm sure that would be nice. He looks like an interesting fellow. You... knew him before coming to the city?
[That's the situation she'd very much prefer to assume.]

He leaps into things without thinking, and makes messes that he needs saved from but all around, he's a friend.
[He's imagined Jake being so much more than he is. He'd thought it was his guidance that would take him there. But that wasn't, isn't the case. They all have their journeys to take.
The path of a heart player is a journey of the self..]

[The laugh behind her hand is a kind one.] I think I know the type. That sounds a little like a-- [....] -- like someone from my world.
I'm glad. That you have such an important friend, I mean.
