[closed] am i a part of the cure?
Who: Pyro, Bobby and Rogue
What: Asgard's resident mutants convene over visions of the future.
When: Day 322, evening
Where: Just outside the Gate of Fog
Rating: PG-13 for Pyro, plus talk of violence
[Pyro's not totally confident that Bobby can get Rogue here, but he's waiting anyway, pacing in tight circles with his lighter out and dancing its usual dance in his right hand.
He's never trusted the gods before, and he doesn't know why he is now, but that vision has unsettled him enough that he has to report it to the others. If any part of it was true, and their future involves some kind of magic bullet that can suck the mutation right out of mutants, then he can't see any other way but for the X-Men and the Brotherhood to unite again. Yes, even without Magneto here, he's sure this is what he has to do.
He's haunted by it again and again as he waits: the picture of Mystique falling, her scales slowly peeling away to reveal a human form. A form she could never change out of again. It makes him furious, but more than that, it makes him feel sick. How could such a thing happen outside of Asgard?
(And then he hears Magneto's voice, almost apologetic but laced with steel: I'm sorry, my dear. You're not one of us anymore. That's when he really feels sick, and he tries to force it to the furthest reaches of his mind, beyond even where his parents lie.)
Clink-clink, his lighter closes. Where are they?]

You threatened her first.

[Close call, there. Bitch probably would've made Bobby walk away for good, and as much as Pyro hates needing anyone, he doesn't like the idea of being totally cut off from the mutants here right now. Not with what they know.]

I'll try if she will. Swear to god, I actually will. Things are different now. But you know I'll never take any shit from anyone.

He's exhausted with constantly being the mediator. All he ever wanted was to keep both of them in his life, but is it impossible? Still, with this new revelation, maybe there's hope. ]
Look, you're going through a lot. I know. But you have to understand how she feels too.

[He's pretty much through with the bickering too, at least for today. All he wants is to know that he's got at least one of his kind on his side here. After massaging his forehead wearily, he meets Bobby's gaze - his own is guarded, but without any hatred or anger. Those are never what he feels the need to hide, after all.]
Bobby. You said we'd be friends no matter what. I -
[I need that right now.]
no subject
Yeah. [ Lightly, he punches his shoulder. ] Why else would I be here, you jerk?
no subject
Not my charm and killer looks?
no subject
Too bad you don't have either.
no subject
This coming from you? We could always let our girlfriends fight it out. Might get a good catfight out of it.
no subject
You would like that.

[Bobby might notice a slight difference to Pyro's usual cocky grin - this time it's strongly tinged with pride. Affection, even.]
Nah, I wouldn't let it happen anyway. I've fought Euri before, and I wouldn't wanna have to deal with your long face until Rogue revived.
no subject
Like that'll happen.
no subject
[Whoa there, it's not time for that word yet.]
- was dating got mouthed off.
no subject
Besides, I don't think double dates are gonna happen anyway.

[He shoves his hands into his pockets, still grinning a little at the idea, and starts to head back toward the city.]
You're right again, though. Euri'll probably think of it eventually, but like hell I'm letting that happen.
no subject
Looks like you and Rogue can actually agree on something after all.
no subject
Still speaking just as casually, he glances sidelong at Bobby.]
She'll take it, huh?
no subject
Dunno. [ "Probably," is the more accurate answer. ]
no subject
He does manage not to say any of this, though.]
Sick. It's all fucking sick.
no subject
Yeah.

I called you both out to try and bring us together. All of us. Just so you know that.
no subject
I know.

[He drives a hand through his hair. The announcement of the trip to Vanaheim hasn't happened yet, but he's already feeling strange and restless from Thiazi's curse, and he's ready to take on the trains alone if it means getting some freedom from Asgard.]
If I'm off the grid for awhile, I just went to Utgard or something. Try not to worry too much. [With that, he starts to walk away.]

Hey! Wait up.
