We are never, ever, ever, getting back together.
Who: Naruto Uzumaki & Sasuke Uchiha
What: Things
When: Day 343
Where: Somewhere in some district.
Rating: PG-13 for dumb ninja bfs
He was still sulking. Only, it wasn't really sulking at all because he had a totally valid reason for moping around over the last few days. His last meeting with Sasuke had gone terribly, and adjusting to a life that didn't involve at least seeing his best friend for something to eat at least was taking it's toll on him.
It wasn't that he needed to spend time with Sasuke, or anyone else for that matter to be the happy, carefree individual that he tended to be. Only, he couldn't possibly hold on to that carefree feeling. There was absolutely nothing he could do to make Sasuke stop blaming him for what had happened, and by this point, Naruto was beginning to feel completely and utterly at fault, despite Gaara's reassurances, and those of the other people who had been affected deeply by the events of the previous week.
So, he's wandering through the city, trying to find something to occupy his mind with. He wasn't needed at the job he'd managed to get himself, and he vaguely wondered if that was because of all the mistakes he'd made the other day... perhaps he was on the hunt for a job, or to bump into a friendly face. Anything to make him stop thinking about that.

"Enough?" Though as riled up as he is, if Naruto says anything stupid again it will probably earn him another punch.
no subject
He glares, for just a moment, before ducking his head completely, a hand looped around his waist whilst he stares at the floor between them.
"Yeah."
no subject
He's also a little tired already. And Naruto looks so pathetic that the urge to keep on fighting gradually begins to fizzle away.
Still not going to help though.
no subject
He does tip his head to look up when the point seems to have made it's way home. He won't lie. He'd been hoping for a hand or something, but if it's not coming.
... He's just going to stay here and nurse his ribs.
no subject
"....You still owe me food." Because you walked out on him that other day, remember?
Sasuke lets out a sigh before stepping forward, finally having enough of the charity case still slumped on the floor in front of him. He holds out a hand with the silent assumption that he will help him up off the ground. In return for food.
no subject
Mostly, it's in response to owing him for food, but the surprise dies the moment Sasuke's had is extended toward him, making way for the barest smile. He can't be too hopeful, but he does grasp Sasuke's hand, tugging himself up to his feet and instantly groaning from the pain in his ribs.
"... Okay."
He lets go once he's up - testing his footing, stretching his back slightly before deciding that he can totally walk this off... but in this sort of slouched position, please.
"Where do you wanna go?"
no subject
"Somewhere that's close." It doesn't matter where, but it is unlikely that either want to trek across the whole city in this state.
no subject
Being bloody and beaten up doesn't count.
"Yeah--"
He actually turns to look around, before pointing off down some adjoining road. "There's a food place down there."
no subject
He's already started to walk in its direction. Silent, as usual, since there isn't much else to say on the matter.
It probably seems odd to others that they can go from shouting to fighting and then back to eating together all within the spam of ten minutes, but hasn't it always been this way between them?
no subject
Falling into step beside Sasuke is easy, even with one hand on his cheek, nursing his jaw.
"... Thought you might not punch as hard without chakra."

Luckily for Sasuke, Naruto is too busy looking out for this place to eat to notice the way he's flexing his hand, but he doesn't stay quiet for long.
"There it is! Awesome. C'mon."
That's a skip in his step.
Followed by a grunt as he doubles over.
no subject
He stops just in front of the fallen ninja, waiting for him to get up. This is so troublesome..
"Get up." He's holding out an arm, one Naruto can use to lean on or something until they cross the short distance to the restaurant. He has to actually get up off the ground first though.
no subject
"Owowowow. I'm up. I'm up. Oi." Shrugging it off has always worked in the past, and he tries an experimental step, happy when it doesn't hurt like hell.
He almost wants to yell, because what the hell did Sasuke do? Getting hurt sucks, no matter where you are, but everything just seems ten times worse here.
"M'okay. Just-- need to eat I reckon."
no subject
Hopefully they have napkins laid out so he can at least stop his nosebleed.
"This whole thing was your idea, idiot." Probably won't be so quick to offer himself up as a punching bag next time, right?
no subject
Whoa-- He lets Sasuke take him by the arm, shifting at least so that he can walk comfortably beside Sasuke.
"Yeah well... It worked right?" He doesn't really say it with the same gusto as he perhaps might have done, because they're both in a pretty bad way, but all the same... there is truth in his words. His 'challenge' accomplished what he'd hoped it would.
and he would totally do it again in a heartbeat.
no subject
Reaching out a hand, he pulls open the restaurant door to let them both inside.
no subject
He grabs the door, hauling himself inside and hobbling over to a table, only to slump down into the seat. "What's this place got?"
no subject
"There's a menu in front of you, moron." It's right there. On the table. Pick it up. He hasn't set foot in this place before now, how is he supposed to know?
no subject
Sweeping it up, instantly his expression changes. Except it's a grin that sends pain coursing through his face, and he reaches up with his free hand to press his fingers against his cheek in the hopes that it might make it stop.
"Ow. Ah, they've got loads of stuff." It's mumbled, but he sets the menu down on top of the table, shifting forward to slide it between them. "Steaks, burgers... noodles."
no subject
"Order me some noodles." He replies, already pushing his seat back and standing up before heading to the bathroom. Maybe it will look better once he has washed the dried blood off.
no subject
"Okay--" The menu has a bunch of different kinds on it, but he likes to think he knows Sasuke well enough to make a well informed decision on the kind he'd like to eat.
By the time Sasuke comes back... he'll have two glasses of water on the table, and two bowls of noodles coming right up. He's not nursing his own face any more, just pulling strange faces in an attempt to stop it feeling so weird.
no subject
He sits down again, content with not saying anything and simply sipping at the glass of water.
no subject
Instead, he mimics his friend, picking up his water and drinking a few mouthfuls. "Food better not be that long. I'm starvin'."
no subject
He'll just drink some more water.
