Equius was not one to give up lightly. He'd agreed to a playdate with his moirail after that entire fiasco with the croakbeasts and their mother glubbing blather, and by glob he was going on a playdate. He stood impatiently in the front hall of their shared house and proceeded to holler. Then he remembered. That's right. He couldn't speak.

This solicited a growl and rumble in his throat that produced no sound. That, in turn produced another soundless snarl, which led to a wordless roar, which led to a lamp being shattered and him having to draw a new one on a napkin before Nepeta came down.

Breathe...

Some sniffing on Nepeta's part confirms that though they may be called corndogs, there's still definitely meat in there! She points at them demandingly; yes, she wants one of those, and perhaps a second one too! That would do for a start, but she's already eying everything else on the menu in speculation.

He considered and then started pointing. It took a little effort, but two corndogs were acquired, along with a large order of fried frenchmen. He was trying to understand why you would fry a frenchman, but soon he saw a potato being broken into smaller, thin pieces and fried and it made some sense.

Humans were strange.

Nepeta wasn't thinking that humans were strange, she was thinking they were geniuses for inventing such tasty food. It's a good thing she still can't talk or the topic would be sure to start an argument between them. Instead she just focuses on shoving food into her mouth. Of course, that's the good part about being a troll - eating too fast wasn't likely to make her sick.

Oh, probably. The food, at the very least, was edible. There was ample flesh in it, which was advantageous, and the fat frying added to the flavor in ways he found pleasurable. Really, the main complaint he had over the whole thing was the naming conventions, and those could be put to the side for the sake of a good meal.

...however, he decided then and there that he wanted to ask someone about this.

Nepeta soon finishes her meal, sitting back and rubbing her tummy in blissful contentment. Not that she'd be quiet for long...

He patted her on the head, relaxing a little once the food was in his stomach. He needed to let it digest and settle a moment. That was the thing to do right about now, wasn't it?

Well, letting it digest does sound like a good idea. Equius seems to be settling back to relax a little, and soon Nepeta is crawling into his lap for a catnap. She's liking this going out on dates thing. They need to do it more often!

He chuckled very silently. This was definitely not a bad situation. Settling so that she could curl up there, he was happy to let her sun herself on her lap for at least a little while. He definitely agreed with this sentiment. They needed to do this again sometime.

Uh oh! Are those silent little snores happening? It seems like they are! She's a happy kitty with a full tummy and a comfortable spot to lie on, and when there's Equius there to watch over her, why shouldn't she have a little sleep?

You know what? He was going to allow those little silent purring snores to continue. If, after a while, she seemed like she was legitimately out like a light, he'd simply carry her quietly back to the house. No reason not to let her sleep on her way back, now was there?

Well, if nothing disturbs her then it's unlikely she'll wake up. Being picked up might jostle her a little, but she knows instinctively that she's in her moirail's arms, and so remains happily asleep in the knowledge that she's perfectly safe.

They would have to do this again sometime, perhaps after 12th perigree's eve. For the moment, he was going to be a good moirail and make sure she got back home safe and sound so she could relax. Poor little kitty didn't know when she'd gotten herself all tuckered out until it was too late.
