Who: Gerome, Henry, and Ryan
What: Sort-of-family dinners are great for awkward conversations.
When: Evening of 365.
Where: Ryan and Henry's apartment, Loki district
Rating: pg-13 at most? Will edit if that somehow changes.
There is about zero chance of this managing not to be awkward, Ryan's well aware of that. He barely knows Gerome, and the fact that Henry apparently had a child in some alternate timeline is still sort of sinking in. It's not that he can't see him as parent material--
It's just that it is really hard to see him as parent material when just the other day he was melting people. Gerome might have come off as a bit of a jerk so far, but alright, he's surprisingly well-adjusted, considering.
Still, he's sure he'll get used to it, once he's had more than just several hours to adjust more to the idea. The dinner came as just as much of a surprise as their relation to each other, and he's spent a good part of the day fretting over it- it's got to at least be decent, nothing is allowed to go wrong, because god knows the conversation's likely to and Ryan's not sure he can handle any kind of kitchen disasters on top of that. Thankfully it's all gone off without a hitch, everything is waiting in the kitchen, nothing is on fire and nothing is broken. He just hopes it stays that way.
But there's not much to be done about that now besides wait, and it's very nearly seven. He's taken to pacing, checking and re-checking the kitchen, making sure the door is unlocked for what must be the third time this half-hour.
