Who: EVERYONE in the mirror!verse of Asgard
What: A House Divided mingle log for characters in the mirror!verse. The log for the real Asgard is here.
When: Days 360 - 364 ( Nov. 21 - 30 )
Where: in the mirror-Asgard, all across the city
Rating: PG-13 with warnings for graphic violence. Anything that warrants an "R" rating should be taken to a private log, please!

[ When the Travellers wake up on Day 360, they will find themselves in their beds, in their rooms, exactly where they fell asleep the night before, but something will be quite obviously off about the city. For one, the colours are all inverted, as though the whole of Asgard has gone grey again and the only colour remaining is in the places that were previously without. Odd, but not terribly damaging. It may be discouraging to think that colour will have to be restored all over again, but worse things have happened in the city. At least the city is still intact.

Or perhaps not. As the Travellers attempt to go about their business, it will soon become obvious that its wrongness extends past poor decorating choices. The city is near empty of all other Travellers, and the natives seem wary to interact with the few that are around. Communicating with them is impossible; the spell that translates all communication into Asgardian is gone and leaving characters to either speak in their native tongue or find alternative methods of communicating. The bracelets are inoperable and cannot connect to the network for anything.

Before long, as the Travellers attempt to figure out what's happening, other differences will become noticeable. Some Travellers' forms will have changed to reflect their true bodies or natures in ways you may not have been aware of. There will be a compulsion curse urging people to tell each other secrets and truths they've kept buried deep. Most importantly for some, their abilities from home will be restored. Please remember that no canon abilities used in the mirror!verse can affect the real Asgard in any way. What happens in the mirror!verse stays in the mirror!verse. More Travellers will start appearing by the evening of the same day, which may or may not be a good thing.

On Day 361, those previously wary natives will become outright hostile, attacking the Travellers on sight by any means available to them. They might even follow you home and throw rocks through your windows or riot against your workplace. You are strangers in their land and they want you out, almost as badly as the Fire Giants do. And there will be Giants, as they begin to fall into the city alongside more of your fellow Travellers. They will arrive immediately bewildered and frightened, attacking out of base instinct and desperation. As both the Giants and the natives attempt to drive the Travellers out of this strange version of Asgard, the sky will start sprinkling dust in random bursts, but this is by no means as threatening as the guy coming at you with a kitchen knife.

The fighting continues to escalate through Day 362 as more Travellers and Giants fall into the mirror!verse. Dust continues to fall more frequently and large cracks can be seen running across the sky, a bad omen for the fate of those living beneath it, a notion that will become literal by Day 363 when everything goes off the charts.

The colours will blow out of proportion in random places, some appearing like overexposed photos while others fall into black and white or sepia, or a mixture of anything and everything in between. The truth compulsion wears off for some, while other start to feel compelled even further to profess their secrets to anyone that will listen. Frost Giants will begin appearing alongside more and more Fire Giants and Travellers. The city becomes full to bursting with things that want the Travellers dead, until even the city itself starts ejecting them. Those whose canon abilities returned will die painfully all throughout the day as their magic is rejected by Yggdrasil's. As everything begins collapsing, the sky comes down with it like massive shards of broken glass that shatter upon impact and immediately kill anyone caught beneath it, leaving empty dark holes where the sky once was. Everything is wrong wrong wrong, and there seems no hope of correcting it.

At least, not from this side of the veil. Your fate will be left in the hands of another, and what they decide may come to surprise you ... ]

Who: EVERYONE!
What: Bad Moon Rising: Week Four
When: Days 330-334 ( September 20-30 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13, with a warning for death. Anything higher or very graphic should be taken to a private log, please.

[ Things have suddenly hit a breaking point. Anyone left on the city is still on edge, hallucinating, having trouble sleeping. The Natives of the city are paranoid and terrified, since more of them seem to die every day. The gods have announced that some Travelers are more tainted than others, and that to cleanse their souls, that they must be killed.

On the night of Day 330, things hit their breaking point. The nine chosen by Thiazi and Corrupted finally cross a final threshold, and the tainted magic takes complete hold of them. Their god powers are gone -- they are focused now with simply attacking the city, and they are no longer attempting to hide who they are. ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for Week 4 of the Bad Moon Rising event! Characters are still experiencing vivid hallucinations, sleepwalking, and fugue states -- but the attacks on the city that had been happening at night are now happening during the day.

The corrupted must be killed for their souls to be cleansed.

There will be two sections of mod-headers for this log: one will be threads of the corrupted just attacking the city, and will not be the threads where they die.

The other headers will be where characters in the city (eg, everyone still in Asgard and not corrupted!) will have the chance to kill those attacking. There are no signups for this, and unless otherwise noted by the character, these are a free-for-all.

Other than that, feel free to make your own headers if you want to thread out the events of the week without encountering the corrupted! Simply make sure to include LOCATION and OPEN/CLOSED in the subject. Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions!! ]

[ Things have only gotten worse as the days have marched on. You are now beginning to lose time: one moment, you may be eating dinner before you find yourself standing over your shattered plate on the ground, with no memory of how this happened. The hallucinations are getting worse, and weirder and weirder things are starting to happen in the city. The weather is getting cooler, and as nightly attacks on the city begin, even the Natives seem paranoid and mistrusting. The symptoms listed in the plot doc effect EVERYONE in the city, not just the corrupted.

It seems as if new disasters happen daily. How are you handling it, and what are you going to do about it? ]

[ Starting Day 322 (September 6/7), Travelers in the city will notice apple trees of varying sizes springing up all over the city -- and we do mean all over, as while most of these trees will appear outside, some may show up unexpectedly in a bedroom or right in the middle of a shop! While some are quite small (and others incredibly large!), none of them will cause any actual damage. Special note for August: Some characters have been trapped in the castle for days and are just now being released with the melting of the ice. Those who arrive after the ice melts may notice that the city is very damaged in places. Windows are broken, some rooftops are sagging, and the Natives - gray and colorless alike - seem to be in a rebuilding phase. Asgard is very much alive, but will be limping along for a few days while it tends its wounds. Regardless, the Natives are as friendly as ever, and will treat anyone with a Traveler's bracelet on with deference and gratitude. The battle might not have been an incredible victory, but it wasn't a defeat, either.

Have fun!]

When: Days 303 - 307 ( July 31 - August 8 )
Where: At the heart of the city.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

(Edited to Add: There's a current EVENT LOG DIRECTORY here to make navigating the log easier!)

[ In the dead of night on Day 303 ( July 31 ), most people in the city will already be deep into sleep when a sudden crash rings throughout the city, the sound of a thousand glass windows shattering all at once breaking the silence of the evening. When the Travelers look outside to see what happened, the castle at the center of the city will be near completely hidden from view, the barrier surrounding the palace frozen over from what looks like a bomb of ice exploding over it. The ice is a bright, near-luminescent blue that spider-web crackles along the surface of the barrier and onto the ground surrounding it, spreading rapidly outwardly in all directions. Within a matter of minutes, the ice will have taken over the entirety of the castle and some of the surrounding buildings. Travelers are welcome to join panicked Natives as they run out in varying states of dress to hack and burn away at the ice in a feeble attempt to fight it back, but the magic furling the ice is strong and it will encroach upon the city at large by sunrise.

With Day 304 ( August 1 ) starting off on a high note, it will quickly become apparent that the city structures were not the only things under attack. A message of distress comes from Loki's bracelet right before the network as a whole is torn to pieces with a violent cry. Travelers will be wholly unable to access any facets of the network, including network posts and private contact posts. This leaves the Travelers very much disconnected as the ice continues a slow crawl towards the city gates. Travelers will have to spend the ensuing week in radio silence and old-fashioned communication methods as they combat Thiazi's attempt at taking over the city from within.

That is, of course, until she attempts taking over from without as well. On Day 305 ( August 3-4 ), a fleet of lesser Frost Giants will descend upon the city. They remember all too well when the Travelers managed to defile their own holy city, and they do not hold back in their retaliation. The battle against them will help generate heat and cause damage enough to fight back some of the ice, but it comes at the cost of fighting for your lives.

The attack will last until Day 307 ( August 7-8 ), at which point most every one of Thiazi's minions will have been killed or retreated. The Travelers don't have much breathing space to heal their injuries, however, as the ice still remains and though it is much slower in its crawl, it's still spreading across the city and there is no saying what might happen if it were to take over entirely.

It all comes to a head the evening of Day 307 ( August 8 ) when the palace, still covered in that thick, impenetrable layer of ice, suddenly bursts into flame. The fire is more golden than red, the heat of which can warm one's cheeks all the way to the city gates, though it feels no warmer than a nice summer's day regardless of proximity. When the fire dies down, all of the ice has been melted away, leaving dampened earth and an enraged king at the heart of Asgard. Something is changing, and the only thing anyone can say for certain is that this war is not yet over. ]

Who: EVERYONE, including 4th-wallers!
What: The festival and 4th-wall events!
When: Day 290 - 293 (July 4 - 11)
Where: All across the city!
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ On Day 290 (July 4), all of the natives will close down their shops and stores and instead set up booths and stalls all over the city streets. Bright lights and decorations will be put up across every district in the respective colours of their patron gods along with an underlying theme of Freyr’s dark purple and Freya’s rouge. The city will spring to life in celebration of both the twins’ return and the Travellers’ triumph in reviving them. The festival will last three days, with music, games, dancing and an impressive fireworks display every night, visible all throughout the city.

In the midst of the first night of celebrations (July 5), a small earthquake rumbles across the land. It is nothing terribly powerful or disruptive, only strong enough to shift glassware a bit or rustle the leaves. The natives will seem surprised but unalarmed and continue the festivities as normal.

During the night’s fireworks, people will begin to pop! into the world in arbitrary places. Guards and maids will immediately rush around to give these new arrivals temporary bracelets with grey stones to protect them from the Grey Sickness; be sure to take this gift, as there is no telling what will happen to you if you get lost to the Grey when your soul isn’t tied to this world.

Still, the festivities continue even in the presence of their unexpected guests. The natives will treat them with a vague sense of curiosity and confusion, but are otherwise as amenable and deferential as they would be with the Travelers. Hang out, have fun, and please, mind the carpet. ]

Who: EVERYONE!
What: Dokidoki Bishounen Return!
When: Day 286 ( June 26 - 27 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Three days after the revival of Freyr's "failure," yet another pulse will vibrate across the land as in the last time. It will start from the north and travel south, only this time, instead of simply shaking the plantlife, everything will violently bloom all across the city. Petals and leaves will suddenly blossom in abundance, some bursting free from their buds to rain down onto grass that seems just a little bit greener.

In fact, everything seems a little bit brighter. The Sun shines clearer, the sky is a cleaner blue, and even a few Natives recover colour faster than is the norm. Travellers will experience the same heavy beat within their chests as in the last time, but this time will be coupled with a temporary power boost! For this day and this day alone, everyone will be capable of one step above Level 3 as detailed here. These effects are temporary and will return to their normal state at the end of Day 286. They also are not without cause!

Several hours after the shockwave hits the city, the Gate of Fire opens and in walks those that were missed so dearly over the past few months: Freyr and Freya, hand in hand and looking somewhat worse for wear but one hundred percent, undoubtedly alive. With the return of life came the return of life, which leaves the scenery all across Yggdrasil to proudly announce Asgard's success in reviving their own. Take pride in your accomplishment, Travellers, as it is one never before achieved - though how the returned gods are received is up to you. ]

[ OOC NOTE: This is the mingle log for the Dokidoki Bishounen Return event! Please put the time/location in the title of your comment along with [OPEN/CLOSED]. NPCs will be hanging out for a bit but not terribly long, as Freyr’s still getting over his minor case of the deadsies and Freya has some disciplinary actions waiting for her in the castle. Feel free to ping us or their handlers if you’d like them to pop into a thread for a bit. If you have any questions or need any clarification on the temporary power boosts, please do not hesitate to ask! ]

Who: ANYONE going on the infiltration into Thrymheim and EVERYONE inside the city when the caravan returns!
What: The return to Asgard with Freyr’s soul ( meaning: a lot more travelling ).
When: Days 281 - 283 ( June 16 - 21)
Where: Asgard, Thrymheim, and the road inbetween.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Days 281 - 282 will be spent travelling again back through the terrain from before. Thiazi's minions will be hot on the caravan's tail, leaving them to messy skirmishes every time there's need to stop or they manage to interrupt the path forward. It won't be unmanageable, but it will be difficult, and though their numbers aren't great, it is strongly advised to clear off as many as possible for proceeding. The sooner you get back to the city, the better.

And not a moment too soon. In the dead of night on Day 282, Asgard's walls will come into view with three figures standing just before it: Thor, Jormungand and Fenrir. The caravan will race past them without pause, and the Travellers will be able to see the gods engaging whatever remaining forces there may be as they pass through the city gates into safety. Anyone healed enough or still within the city is welcome to join them in the fight, but the ones entrusted to the chest's delivery should continue on directly to the castle where Odin is waiting for it.

Travellers inside the city that aren’t getting involved in the fight should feel welcome to help with the caravan’s return. There will be injuries to treat, wagons to mend, horses to calm and attend. The Natives will come out to help as well, creating a general air of movement and bustling about as everyone tries to get things cleared out and settled.

By the sunrise of Day 283, all of Thiazi's tag-alongs will be killed and Odin, Hel, and Heimdall will depart the city through the Gate of Fire. The city will be kept on high alert during their absence, though no one can say for sure where they're going or what they plan to do with Freyr's soul kept securely in that box. Thor, Jormungand and Fenrir stay alert at the southeastern gate while Baldr, Loki and Sigyn guard the north. Several Natives across the entire city will stand vigil in the streets, praying silently to and for their gods’ and everyone’s safe deliverance. Everyone is awake, and yet everything seems terribly still in the silence, like one drop of water waiting to fall.

Evening falls with still no sign of anyone’s return, but around dusk, a heavy vibration will echo through the city, seemingly travelling from north to south and shaking any plant life along the way. Travellers will feel it pulse inside them as it passes, but it will be soundless and harmless, passing otherwise insignificantly. The gods return a few hours after that - but they alone.

Whether or not they were successful remains to be seen . . . ]

Who: ANYONE going on the infiltration into Thrymheim!
What: Lots of travelling and also rescuing Freyr's soul.
When: Days 278 - 279 ( June 10 - 13 )
Where: Asgard, Thrymheim, and the road inbetween.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Before even the first crack of sunlight over the horizon on Day 278, every bracelet in the city will give a quiet blip! as they activate with a short mass text from the gods:
The time to act has come. Gather at the Gate of Frost by the Sun's first rays if you will, and be prepared to strike at the heart of ice. There is no room for failure.
Exactly as the message implies: it's time to ship off to Thrymheim. Gear up in your best winter clothes and bring whatever weaponry you need; there are wagons thinly concealed and waiting for you at the southern gate that leads to the home of the Frost Giants. Inside the wagons will be those portable heaters that you guys bought in Utgard, along with spare gloves, jackets and scarves for anyone that foolishly believed summer might touch the kingdom of ice. Travellers can also find food rations to last a week alongside a generous amount of medical supplies that may or may not be a bit foreboding.

The caravan will leave at precisely 5AM, driven by the barest amount of Natives to keep travel at a minimum. Secrecy is of the utmost importance, and a severe silence will fall across the few sitting in the back of the wagons with the Travellers. They know the weight of this mission: if you fail, Freyr's soul will remain trapped forever. It is dangerous and no one's lives are guaranteed, so prepare yourselves for a fight quite unlike any other this far.

As you travel further from Asgard, you might notice the terrain getting a bit more uneven as the wagons move through undeveloped areas. There may be the odd village noticeable in the far off distance, but they are nowhere close enough to make out any distinguishable details because you don't want them distinguishing anything about you in return. These villages are few and far between, and grow even less in number the closer the caravan gets to Thrymheim. The terrain goes from rocky but arable to colder and harder, the temperature dropping increasingly as the earth grows solid and unforgiving, eventually peppering with light snowfall even in the midst of Yggdrasil's summer.

It will take two full days to reach Thrymheim travelling at as fast a pace as they can without wearing out the horses or catching unwanted attention. They will make short stops to feed and brush the horses, switch drivers, and allow for any necessary relief - but these breaks will last no longer than ten to twenty minutes at most. Simple meals will be served by the Natives thrice daily, and Travellers are welcome to attempt sleep on one of the meager pallets stocked up if they think they can manage it. Space is not abundant and neither is time. ]

Who: ANYONE going on the trip to Utgard!
What: A supplies run with one bonus a la carte spy.
When: Days 269 - 271 ( May 23 - 28 )
Where: Utgard
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Early in the morning on Day 269, several wagons will be geared up and at the ready by the Gate of Fog. The first two are more obviously intended for supplies, while the drivers of the last few will welcome Travellers to find anywhere comfortable to sit. A handful of coloured Natives from various districts will be coming along to assist in the shopping, though they're mostly content to stick to themselves in their own wagon for the duration of the trip. They won't have much to say to anyone that tries for conversation beyond simple pleasantries and a general air of gratitude.

It's a half day's drive to get to the city of Utgard, leaving the Sun just barely on its way back down by the time the caravan comes to a halt. This gives plenty of time to gather the things on the shopping list the drivers have on them. Natives will direct the Travellers to the things that are needed, such as bandages, food rations and the typical things expected for war efforts - though every now and again, very quietly, the Natives will check up on people to casually suggest that they might like to pick up a nice coat or two. Perhaps some sturdy gloves here or there, and a few portable heaters and the likes. Not overtly, not a great number. Just enough to give the general idea that there might be use of some warmer gear before long. If asked about them, the Natives won't say anything, only that it's always good to be prepared.

Day 270 will be left entirely to the Travellers' discretion. As promised, the Natives will hand everyone that helped out the day before a small pouch of seven silver runes and seven copper runes ( approximately $70 USD ) to spend on whatever they like. Remember that Utgard is a metropolitan city with higher technology levels than that of Asgard. You could buy a computer or radio here that would transmit and receive signals, but only within the boundaries of Utgard. Once it is brought back into Asgard, they will no longer function beyond having shiny dials and buttons. Travellers are welcome to keep anything left over from their allowances after they're done with their shopping.

On the morning of Day 271, the Natives will give the Travellers just a little while longer to look around while they make sure everything is packed securely and accounted for in the wagons before the caravan sets off around 10AM. There's another half day's travel ahead, and they want to be out of the woods before dark, so do try to be on time or wait for the next wagon!

Things seem to go off without a hitch, though, and the caravan will be moving right on time. The only thing that might seem a bit strange is that there is one Native that seems more interactive than the others. He might smile directly at you or ask some seemingly harmless questions, like how long you've been in Asgard for and what kinds of things you like to do during your day. He might comment how it's great that you're doing so much for them, and isn't it wonderful that we're in a time of peace? How long do you think it will last?

You can feel free to be suspicious about this "Native"'s behaviour, but as per the RNG, it will be Percival ([personal profile] sleeveless) that catches the spy! When it happens, the caravan will come to a halt and one of Heimdall's Natives will welcome Percival and a few others to come sit and guard the spy in one of the emptier wagons where none of the actual Natives will be at all inclined to give anything away, even by mistake. The mods will try to handle a couple threads for him. He won't have much to say after being caught, though, half because there will likely be several threads for him that we will have to devote time to and have because spies are such sour things when they get caught. :( No harm is to come to the spy or anyone else until Percival has had a chance to put up an open post on the network to discuss what to do with the spy. ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for the Your Friendly Neighbourhood Utgard plot! Please put the day/location in the title of your comment, along with [OPEN/CLOSED]. Also, if you haven't already, please check out the poll regarding how to handle Thiazi's spy over here.

edit: The IC network post regarding the spy is up over here! Let us know if you have any questions! ]
