Who: Pitch Black, anyone.
What: Pitch, returning to his 'lair', after he's liberated some books from the library.
When: D488, twilight
Where: Odin towards Hel District
Rating: PG, will update if needed.

[Pitch, having only gotten more paranoid in the last few weeks, chooses his 'errand runs' wisely. Always after dark, always armed with his favorite sword and who-knows-what hidden on his person, and always with a nasty look. Approach and be snapped at.]

[The mission for today: some books from the Odin library to pass the time, and he's stalking his way back to his room. So far so good.]

[Bunny's been working himself to the bone, on the City Patrol. He knows the threat of war, the proper, end-all-bloody-battle is looming ever and ever closer, like a dark cloud above them all. It's making him restless. He wants to protect them all, especially the children, but he doesn't know if they have the right numbers. The other Guardians, slowly ebbing away has made it even more worrying. They're a team, and there's less and less of them. It's making them weak.

The sight of Pitch pulls him out of his reverie, and he scowls. He will never believe Pitch on on 'their' side, he's been an enemy for far too long. He's just waiting for the Boogeyman to just turn over to the giants or something. He wouldn't put it past the guy.]

Still skulking in the shadows, then.

You're still here? All alone, abandoned by your 'friends'? No one to watch your back?

[Heh. Same old nasty chuckle, too. He just hopes the rabbit takes the bait this time, it's fun.]

[The barb hits home. Bunny hates being left alone, it reminds him too much of when all he HAD was himself. He never wanted to go back to that. His paws clench.]

It's not like they had a choice, and I don't need anyone to watch my back, Pitch.

Brave words, but I know it's a lie. You're alone and I'm not.

[He's probably lying too, it's just what he does.]

[Bunny lets out a scoff.]

Please, all you've ever been is alone, since you became you.

You've done your best to keep me that way and you failed.

What? You've got yourself friends here, now? Out of the goodness of your heart?

[Seimei had been one to visit the library frequently to inspect the selection of books and occasionally take one that caught his interest for the time being. Even when was supposed to be patrolling he would occasionally make a side trip, plus it was rather interesting to eavesdrop on the thoughts of those gathered in what should be a place of knowledge.

The sight of pitch however, was enough to peek his interest this time. Something about the boogieman called out to him.]

It's rather late to be checking out books, busy during the day?

Who are you, the Library Policeman?

[It doesn't matter if people can hear his jokes or not, he thinks he's hilarious.]

Best time of day in my opinion.

Of course I have, you berk. Why wouldn't I?

Because you're you.

[That, of course, gets his back up, he scowls his shoulders squaring.]

What's that supposed to mean?!

You're so touchy! You poor thing.

I think I've got a bloody right to be touchy. Why'd you think I can't make friends?

No redeeming qualities whatsoever?

[He says like it's as obvious as the color of the sky.]

To you, maybe. You don't know what redeeming qualities are.

Then why do you care what I think?

Because-

[He stops himself, takes a deep breath. Calm. Calm.]

You know what? You're right. I don't care what you think.

Out come the lies, because you do care, or you wouldn't be so snippy.

[And he wouldn't be having loads of fun pushing buttons.]

[Round and round they go.]

I'm snippy because you felt the need to insult me. [Even if he did it...first. Details.] Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

You started it. I wouldn't have said boo.

[That last bit gets him showing his teeth.]

Like hell you wouldn't. You always find some way to get at us. It's like your little game.

[He gives Pitch a sidelong look.]

And here's me thinking you'd at least have the decency to look like you're missing her.

I was--you little rat! You have no idea what you're talking about!

[Oops, Bunny. Someone had to have heard that, the way he's shouting now.]

[It's Bunny's turn to smile now, and it's decidedly not a nice one. There are few pleasures greater than ruffling Pitch's feathers.]

No? Looks like I know enough, mate.
