OPEN; THE NEIGHBORS CLUB WELCOMING PARTY

[mishaps]

Who: Anyone interested in attending the party announced a few days ago. Hosts of the party include Kodaka (mishaps), Sena (meatshields), & Yozora (playerkills). This also includes those who signed up for the speed friend making activity and other club members! Anyone who is even slightly interested in the club may post in the log (but please, only those who signed up for speed friending event participate in it!)
What: The Neighbors Club is having a welcoming party/practice party! Hooray for activities and welcoming back Kodaka to the club. Please ignore my fail of typing the event as speed dating as it is speed "friending" my bad!
When: A few days after it the initial party announcement post.
Where: The Neighbors Club Room located in Sigyn.
Rating: PG-13 AFAIK!


[Kodaka had left most of the event planning to Yozora and Sena as it was actually something that kept them busy. Kodaka knows when those two are idle and bored, bad things happen and they just end up fighting. He's actually surprised how much Yozora has taken this party thing seriously... and he's still shocked that it's technically meant for him. He's had birthdays with family members and school members, sure, but nothing like this; he's never had friends throw a party for him. He assumes Yozora throws the party for practice mostly, though.

He places a tray of onigiri (with various stuffings such as salmon, chicken, and picked vegetables.) down on a table next to a bowl of punch. There are cups and plates also on the table. He hasn't made this much food since he was back at home, and he actually doesn't mind. It's something for him to do, and without school and Kobato around, it feels like chunk of his life is missing.

He looks at his bracelet and realizes people should start coming in soon.]

They really don't, [ he says agreeably, but it's obvious by the way he's staring at the food that he thinks she's talking about the rice balls

he talks about the rice balls with more enthusiasm than talking about his jealousy ] and they really could use some more seasoning. Next time, they should offer more variety.

[patronizing]

You’re right. [ this is said while she’s still nibbling away, her expression looking thoughtful. in her head she was doing science, as in, figuring out what amount of grams the seasoning needed to be better. ] These need less grams of salt added to them, and -- [ here is the point where she starts rambling in scentific terms, and occasionally muttering things like “no that’s too much” or “that’s too little” ] They have a lot to be improved on.

[ his eyes are lighting up he gazes upon her with something like pleasant affection ] You're very adept at this. I didn't know that you cooked.

[ tell him more ]

[ the sparkling eyes are enough to knock her back, flinching in surprise ]

I-It’s not like I know how to cook or anything. [ she’s just too smart for her own good ] A-Anyway, schools teach cooking lessons as a rule. I just picked up on some stuff there. I know how to make coffee though.

[giver]

[ he reaches over to take her hand, but this time it isn't a meaningless gesture, but he grips it warmly and enthusiastically ]

That's great. It seems like you really learned a lot. But coffee won't do, we should make some good food together sometime.

[patronizing]

[ that single motion is enough to make her jump out of her seat, blushing furiously as she snatches her hand back. YEAH, LET’S SEE WHO CAN FIGURE OUT THE COUPLE NOW HUH ]

Th, Th— That won’t be necessary! Like I said, I only know a little!

[giver]

I see. [ and his composure is gotten again. he draws back his own hand, and reassembles his posture to the former stiff, upright, too casual to be casual position ]

It's good to know you're enthusiastic about school. [ said politely ]

[ she was so rude just then, she can tell. his posture gave her enough of a hint, and it was a given that anyone would be hurt by such a cold and arupt rejection. she should apologize ]

I'm so hungry. [ WAIT NO THAT'S NOT WHAT SHE MEANT AT ALL ]

[ chuckling with some warmth, and he pushes over more of the food ] Then you should eat. It must be a tiring day for you.

And you should tell me about your hobbies and interests while you eat.

[patronizing]

[ she can’t deny that she did feel a bit hungry due to all the different people she had to talk to, so she takes another riceball and starts nibbling it. the hobbies and interests causes her to pause and think, even though most of them weren’t that interesting. ]

Hmph. If you insist. I guess . . . my hobbies are practicing my penmanship. I also like classical music and literature, I suppose. [ nibble nibble ] And clothes. Gothic Lolita, I guess. Ah, and an old game called Lung Capability.

[giver]

Those are very cute hobbies. [ approved approved approved gothic lolita?? well why not approved except ]

Lung Capacity? That sounds like a dangerous game. I hope it isn't something like holding your breath until you asphyxiate, haha.

[patronizing]

That’s exactly what you do. [ yup yup yup ] It’s just to see how long you can hold it. [ ever so pridefully, she chimes in; ] I’m skilled at it.

[ GETTING KINDA KINKY UP IN HERE no but he does seem to laugh a little ] It definitely doesn't sound like a school-approved game. What if someone holds their breath too long?

[patronizing]

[ ONLY YOU ] Then they’re declared champion of the game. Hmph, it’s simple.

[giver]

And if they die?

[patronizing]

Would someone actually be dense enough to hold it to such lengths?

You'd be surprised at the amount of stupid people out there.

[ but shrugging he doesn't care about them ] You attended a strange school to invent such a game.

[patronizing]

. . . [ oh good lord kanba, she can’t believe you think it’s her schools fault ] You misunderstood me. It was just a game I use to play when I was younger -- my school had nothing to do with it.

Hmph. As much as I would’ve liked to of been the founder of the game, it already existed before that.

I suppose I'm glad I'm dating someone with such great lung capacity.

It's certainly a... marvel.
