OPEN; THE NEIGHBORS CLUB WELCOMING PARTY
Who: Anyone interested in attending the party announced a few days ago. Hosts of the party include Kodaka (
mishaps), Sena (
meatshields), & Yozora (
playerkills). This also includes those who signed up for the speed friend making activity and other club members! Anyone who is even slightly interested in the club may post in the log (but please, only those who signed up for speed friending event participate in it!)
What: The Neighbors Club is having a welcoming party/practice party! Hooray for activities and welcoming back Kodaka to the club. Please ignore my fail of typing the event as speed dating as it is speed "friending" my bad!
When: A few days after it the initial party announcement post.
Where: The Neighbors Club Room located in Sigyn.
Rating: PG-13 AFAIK!
[Kodaka had left most of the event planning to Yozora and Sena as it was actually something that kept them busy. Kodaka knows when those two are idle and bored, bad things happen and they just end up fighting. He's actually surprised how much Yozora has taken this party thing seriously... and he's still shocked that it's technically meant for him. He's had birthdays with family members and school members, sure, but nothing like this; he's never had friends throw a party for him. He assumes Yozora throws the party for practice mostly, though.
He places a tray of onigiri (with various stuffings such as salmon, chicken, and picked vegetables.) down on a table next to a bowl of punch. There are cups and plates also on the table. He hasn't made this much food since he was back at home, and he actually doesn't mind. It's something for him to do, and without school and Kobato around, it feels like chunk of his life is missing.
He looks at his bracelet and realizes people should start coming in soon.]

Hmph, of course it is. I use only the best hair products to make it this way.

She places a hand to her own locks, gesturing, then shakes her head, before typing: ]
You have those here, too?
no subject
still playing with her hair, she reads the text and figures she means if they sell shampoo or the like here in asgard. ]
Hmph. People can still take care of their hair, even here. It’s not hard, and only a braindead person wouldn’t know how to.
no subject
Oh, well it's beautiful. Do you like it here?
no subject
It’s nothing grand, but it’s entertaining from time to time. Especially after the ice fairies.
no subject
Yes. Did you like killing them?
[ It's such an awkward question, but she means it sincerely, because she thinks it's bonding over a nice experience. ]

Suddenly, she just fiddles with the device on her wrist, looking ready to give up. ]
no subject
. . . It was therapeutic.
no subject
Nodding, her eyes light up in familiarity and relation, as she types more: ]
It's a very nice feeling, to fight for something, or sometimes to just fight something.

no subject
Which she takes very seriously! ]

shortly before she speaks again, she lets out a ‘hmph’ while turning her head away as though she was some kind of superior being and this girl in front of her was of lower status than her. it was automatic, the way her speech was harsh and judgmental which she knew was one reason people found it hard to converse with her. ]
People usually exchange names when meeting someone, don’t they? Well, considering we’ve made it this far -- Ririchiyo Shirakiin of Odin house, resident of room 602. Nice to meet you. [ and that would be her hand outstretched for a handshake yup ]
no subject
She wasn't sure this interaction went so well, especially with the remarks this young woman had made and the air she elucidated, but she was willing to give Chane a chance, and ...she thinks they've bonded over killing fairies. So she holds out her gloved hand in return, taking ririchiyo's hand in a gentle grip and shaking it -- though she does cup her other hand over it, to show it's more a handshake of gratitude than greeting.
Her hands then retreat to type and display: ]
My name is Chane Laforet, of Sigyn House.
no subject
Chane Laforet, is it? Hmph, a french name which means. . . Are you from France, by any chance?
no subject
Chane nods, resting both of her hands at the table now. Her eyes widen in a questioning manner, and she gives a slight tilt of the head which causes her hair to bounce a bit. It seems she's asking her where she is from, in return. ]

letters were her way of communication. thinking it’d be easy for the other girl, and given she’d have less verbal abuse from her through her writing, she shows it to her. this was bonding right? ]
Is this better for you? I’m not use to these things...
[ after showing that message, she types up a new one and then, once again, shows it to Chane ]
I’m from Japan. It’s really beautiful there.
no subject
You didn't have to do this. Thank you.
[ The exhibition of this message causes Chane to feel quite bashful, as she tries to control her expression from blushing too much, which seemed to be something that happened far too easily when someone was being kind to her. She turns the device back over to herself, typing just a bit more quickly this time. ]
I've heard such nice things about that place. It's strange what you can miss about somewhere. The trees and plants that grow there or even the wildlife it has.
[ The final message she types comes with a deep breath, as if she's worried of overstepping a boundary. ]
What do you miss most?

fumbling around with the device and clicking letters slowly and precisely, it takes her a while to finish it so that she could show it to the girl in front of her. unlike with what she did -- glancing up every now and again -- Ririchiyo’s gaze didn’t waver from what she was doing and from an outsiders point of view it looked like she was new to playing on a new game or something like that. once finished, she turns it to Chane. ]
Don’t worry too much about it. Consider it a sign and act of friendship. I’m not very good at making friends, and I have more flaws than I can list. I verbally abuse people for no reason, and because of that I have difficulty with things like this. I don’t have any hobbies to tell anyone of either, so it’s easy to get bored of me. Even so, I would like to be your friend. I guess.
[ this was the first time she’d even told anyone this, so Chane was lucky in her telling her outright herself. she didn’t have anyone here to call a friend, and no one she knew from home was here with her which made it all the more harder for her. she wanted them to be here with her -- Watanuki, Roromiya, Miketsukami, and even that insufferable rabbit Natsume. she didn’t even realize how use to them she’d gotten, and them not being here with her despite everything, it was a huge reason on why all the effort she’d put in before had been setback so drastically and why she was back to her old ways.
then the question popped up -- what she missed the most. it wasn’t hard for her as the thing that jumped into her mind instantly was Miketsukami. the man who knew her inside and out, the man who accepted her for who she was, the man who didn’t care what her last name intailed. her heart thumps against her chest just thinking about him, and suddenly nothing else mattered. her cheeks turn a blaze of red when she thinks of all the times they’d spent together and when she tries to type it becomes harder and harder.
why wasn’t he here with her? why... why... wasn’t he by her side like he promised? he promised to stand by her, and if he didn’t then he’d swallow a thousand needles. she was lonely, so lonely it was suffocating. before she knows it, her fingers start typing without her taking any notice. ]
I miss someone. Someone very important to me. Someone who is certainly lonely that I’m not there and so they’re crying. I’m certain of it.
no subject
She's struck with a deep centering feeling of warmth at the declaration of intent for friendship, even if it was qualified with an amount of uncertainty after. It wasn't often that anybody who befriended her was lonely, just as she was. She understands the loneliness. She understands feeling unpracticed in the most ordinary of situations, and definitely understands feeling as if she could not properly engage or compel others. She was often told she had no feelings growing up; she was told that she was emotionless and came off as cold and unfavourable company.
Since it was her job to protect somebody back home, and she had already failed at protecting another she cared about, she frowns in empathy for the girl's last statement. Before she begins typing, she inclines her head, brows furrowed, with more emotion to her look -- she looks slightly upset for her, or maybe it's for herself.
What she types next is quick. Her fingers move more abruptly and precisely, perhaps because of how concentrated she was -- but it was more that she had been thinking of an answer immediately as she read the girl's thoughts. ]
I will not mind what you say to me, as long as you are loyal. I will be loyal to you, too. You do not need hobbies to be interesting
I think.
[ After all, Claire didn't seem to mind, and only told her that it meant she could discover new things about herself and with him, and expand her world. She wasn't very good with words like he was, so she didn't feel she could inspire this girl on the same level. ]
It makes me feel happy you are talking to me. I miss someone at home, too. I am worried that I am not there to protect them.
