OPEN; THE NEIGHBORS CLUB WELCOMING PARTY

[mishaps]

Who: Anyone interested in attending the party announced a few days ago. Hosts of the party include Kodaka (mishaps), Sena (meatshields), & Yozora (playerkills). This also includes those who signed up for the speed friend making activity and other club members! Anyone who is even slightly interested in the club may post in the log (but please, only those who signed up for speed friending event participate in it!)
What: The Neighbors Club is having a welcoming party/practice party! Hooray for activities and welcoming back Kodaka to the club. Please ignore my fail of typing the event as speed dating as it is speed "friending" my bad!
When: A few days after it the initial party announcement post.
Where: The Neighbors Club Room located in Sigyn.
Rating: PG-13 AFAIK!


[Kodaka had left most of the event planning to Yozora and Sena as it was actually something that kept them busy. Kodaka knows when those two are idle and bored, bad things happen and they just end up fighting. He's actually surprised how much Yozora has taken this party thing seriously... and he's still shocked that it's technically meant for him. He's had birthdays with family members and school members, sure, but nothing like this; he's never had friends throw a party for him. He assumes Yozora throws the party for practice mostly, though.

He places a tray of onigiri (with various stuffings such as salmon, chicken, and picked vegetables.) down on a table next to a bowl of punch. There are cups and plates also on the table. He hasn't made this much food since he was back at home, and he actually doesn't mind. It's something for him to do, and without school and Kobato around, it feels like chunk of his life is missing.

He looks at his bracelet and realizes people should start coming in soon.]

[ chane why..... but he does return to room-gazing before glancing over at her again and apparently getting a thought

because he leaves only to return with two glasses of water, one of which he is already sipping and the other he holds out to her ]

[ Oh good because he poured a lot of salt on that! She looks at the water and holds her hand out...

But when the transfer happens, she retracts her hand, because she's now suspicious of this man. The glass falls in slow motion to the floor. ]

[giver]

[ he watches it fall impassively, and then shifts his body weight to the equivalent of a sigh/shrug

he offers her his own drink, politely turning it so the part facing her has not been touched by kanba germs ]

[silentmode]

... [ She just shakes her head, even though she wants it because now she's thirsty. And slowly leans against the wall, folding her arms and turning away from him nervously. ]

[giver]

[ now he does actually do a small half-shrug and puts his glass on a nearby table

he leaves, and then returns, with some paper towels, and kneels to clean up the mess on the floor ]

[silentmode]

[ Oh no now she feels rude!

She wants to help, so she leaves to go get paper towels...but it takes her a while to find them so by the time she comes back it's probably cleaned up and he might be gone (?). ]

[ (un)fortunately he is rusty at cleaning up his own messes (metaphorically and literally) so he is still there, though he has managed to clean up most of it and seems to think that's enough

he does look up with some glimmer of surprise, though, he thought she left forever and a day

so one side of his mouth quirks into a small smile he doesn't realize he's giving before he pats his knees from kneeling ]

[silentmode]

... [ She looks down at his knees, then at her useless paper towels. Her fingers clutch them a bit tensely, crumbling them a bit in their fiddling as she's unsure what to do. ]

[giver]

[ he lets out a breath that sounds almost like a laugh, and then he reaches over to try and take her towels

though he is experienced now, and just holds onto the edge of it for a moment to see if she'll release them ]

[silentmode]

[ The look on her face is slightly like a bambi-in-the-woods-about-to-get-shot expression, and she gives a sharp intake of breath, looking at him inquisitively.

Before her fingers slowly slip in release. She wonders if she should offer to throw out the used paper towels for him...

She has already forgotten about the horrific rice ball incident. ]

[giver]

[ he gives another breathy semi-laugh, and then takes her clean towels and spreads them neatly on the table

he busies himself with them for a moment, before showing her the small flower he made from scrunching up the towel

his face instinctively does do the small half-smile again, since it reminds him of better times. he holds the flower out to her for a moment, a sign of reassurance he doesn't realize he's giving. ]

[silentmode]

... [ There's a look of disbelief on her face for a moment, before she regards him with narrowed, uncertain eyes. Her hand points to herself, and she inclines her head slightly. ]

[giver]

[ he extends it even further to her, that ghost of a smile still lingering on his face

he is more careful this time, though, not to drop it if she doesn't take it, because then they would need paper towels to clean up paper towels and this isn't inception ]

[silentmode]

... [ Her hands clasp over it, gently. She has no idea what to give him in return! There's a look of conflict on her face for only a moment, before she just blinks down at the flower like she's in a trance.

Does this mean she has to start killing for him now? Is it an offer of friendship?

She takes a step back, giving him a shy, thankful look, before glancing away and at the wall again. ]

[giver]

[ he gives a small smile, very small but with an honesty he hadn't shown in all the speed friending

he nods with his head to motion her to come forward a little to the table, where he steps back to give her some space, and then begins to deliberately fold another towel, except this time looking up to make sure she can see the steps ]

[silentmode]

[ She spots the motion in her peripheral, feeling flustered and overwhelmed by someone wanting to ...interact with her...

And not out of obligation.

She sidles up to him reluctantly, holding the flower in front of her at her abdomen, and sees he's trying to instruct her. Which was incredibly kind. Maybe she could make him one in return?

She watches carefully, her eyes reflexively meeting his every time he glances up at her, if only because it's out of battle habit. ]

[giver]

[ he pushes another towel in front of her, smoothing it out, and then returns to his own so she can follow along. it's a relatively simple flower, with a lot of repeating motions, but he still looks up to make sure she's following along, obviously faintly amused at flower-making ]

[silentmode]

[ Chane sets the flower he made for her down at the table, carefully (as if it's...delicate or something), and she watches with a very serious, determined face, beginning to follow his lead. ]

[giver]

[ he makes his folds crisply and efficiently, and occasionally does lean over to press down a corner even if the fold is already right, just to flatten it for a second

when he's done with his own, he ruffles the feather a little, and looks back at her with a self-assured expression ]

... [ She begins trying to refine the edges, too, eyes flickering quickly between his hands and her own flower. She looks frustrated, mildly, for a moment, thinking her flower isn't really coming out as nicely.

Eventually, once she's done with her mediocre flower, she attempts to do a last-minute revision on a few corners... ]

[silentmode]

... [ Before sliding it over to him, feeling ...too embarrassed to see his reaction to it, so she begins typing as soon as it's in front of him. ]

[giver]

[ he lets out a small laughy breath as he picks it up, but very carefully, holding it up to better light. he brushes over the petals to neaten it up a bit, but he seems pleased to hold it, and cradles it for another moment before glancing to see what she was doing, still wearing his lanky small smile of approval ]

[silentmode]

[ Once she's done typing on the feed device, she holds out her wrist to him, still looking away, but this time with a more far-away expression. ]

It was my first time. I will make you a better one next time. Could you show me once more?

[giver]

[ a low chuckle, then: ] This is for me? Thank you, it's perfect.

But I'll show you again, if you want. [ before he starts, he touches the flower with a more gentle motion. he then offers her another paper towel, and folding, though this time faster and with his eyes more focused on her hands, appearing amused ]

[silentmode]

[ She nods, and bows her head a bit to try and focus on anything but that little "thank you", which makes a bit of heat rush to her mostly expressionless face.

When she's offered the next paper towel, she smooths it out in a mostly useless motion, since it's already flat. It's just to appear ready and somewhat serious about this endeavor as she watches him, eyes searching for guidance. She's determined to make him an A+ flower! ]
