What: Two little brothers keep overexerting themselves trying to stick together, so the obvious solution is to rent a place without their knowledge. Logic!

The idea had been formulating for some time in the back of his mind, and following the events of Thrymheim Eyes has decided to put it into motion. Using the savings he'd accumulated and after investigating the possibilities, he has now secured a new residence in Sigyn. It wasn't extravagant, but it would serve its purpose and was certainly more convenient than enduring the unwelcome feelings of the halls or sneaking around curfew. His possessions are already packed in the small container he carries, and now it was a matter of getting the two little brothers to show up.

So the messages are sent, and all that remained was to wait for them to arrive. He waits outside in the meantime, keeping watch for the familiar heads of hair as his cat continues darting in and out of the open front door.

Hizumi shows up with a clearly reluctant expression, his hands stuffed deep into his pockets and his face half-hidden behind a scarf. We're not even going to think about the reason why he actually showed up instead of ignoring the message outright.

"What's the deal, Rutherford?" It's not like him to call Hizumi out, of all people.

It's moments later Ayumu shows up, practically on Hizumi's heels. The walk was shorter for him, but he'd been in the process of finishing lunch when he'd received the message.

He's rather surprised to see Hizumi there, too. "What's going on?"

Rather than allow Eyes a chance to speak up first, Charles dashes straight from her place at the door to the new arrivals, rubbing herself against Ayumu's leg briefly before running right back inside. Though this has Eyes raising an eyebrow, he motions toward the open front door, his own hands still planted firmly in his pockets.

"I'd suggest you follow her." Like he is already doing.

Hizumi shoots a glance Ayumu's way, half-curious and half-put-upon before he gives a shrug and follows. Hell if he knows what Eyes is getting at here.

After all, why would Eyes Rutherford ever suggest a situation in which he'd be living under the same roof as Hizumi? It's such an absurd idea, it just flat out does not occur to him.

Ayumu gives Charles a curious look, before glancing from Hizumi's gaze to Eyes' back in a similar state of confusion and following.

"So what is this place?" He might as well ask, if Hizumi won't. He'd always thought Eyes lived in Freyr's hall.

"A house." Obviously. He's not much in the mood for explaining everything, so he'll cut right to the chase as he stops in the midst of the sitting room, motioning for them to explore the area if they wanted to with a jerk of the head.

"You two have been needlessly subjecting yourself to the effects of the halls." Which he thinks is completely dumb. "Therefore..."

Perhaps a little too quickly, he pulls two small and silver objects from his pocket and throws one to each of them. "Consider this your new residence. Start moving."

It's probably a good thing he wasn't too busy actually checking the area, because his surprise at those words alone is enough to make him fumble the catch.

"--'Scuse me?"

He had to have heard that wrong. There's no way Eyes is seriously suggesting...

Ayumu manages to catch it, just barely, the object bouncing off his fingers into his palm, where he closes his fingers around it to prevent it from falling. When he opens them, he stares at the key before looking up at Eyes with a look that clearly says 'Are you serious?'.

"You bought us..... a house?"

.......Of course he did. Only Rutherford would make a leap of logic like this.

"It was either here, or another location in Hel." And, for all that he respects certain members of that house, he would rather not live there. He answers Ayumu's questioning look with a shrug, turning to face them with his arms crossed.

"Am I not being clear enough?"

Okay, Eyes does have a point. Sigyn is way better than Hel.

But still.

"It never occurred to you to maybe, I dunno, give us some warnin'?"

It's not that he's entirely opposed to the idea, but he could have used the time to prepare himself for the daunting future of living under the same roof as his dearly beloved nephew.

"Talking it over might have been a good idea." He crosses his arms, frowning a little. He's not opposed to the idea, either. It would make it easier to keep an eye on the both of them, But--

"Is the rent even within our combined budget?" Houses were expensive.

"Of course I thought about it. Then I determined it would take too long." Ayumu might have agreed to it, but Hizumi? He had to manipulate the younger just to have him come, and Eyes wasn't expecting any leniency or warmth from him soon.

"It is within our combined salaries, and even if I were the only one paying it would be manageable." Which is to say he would appreciate their contributions, and to some degree was expecting it whether it be monetary or otherwise.

"How thoughtful of you." Somehow, it's not at all surprising that Eyes would be just as filthy rich here as he was in their world. Must be nice to be such a great pianist...

He tosses the key up into the air idly, catching it again with a quick snatch. He could be difficult about the entire situation, but frankly, living in the same place as Ayumu works out well for him.

Even if there's a rather unpleasant relative to deal with too.

"...Guess we'll have to figure out the arrangements later. I'm gonna need to start packing." Since someone decided not to say anything until now.

"I guess we all should." Not that he had much to pack, personally. Mostly clothes, really. That's what happens when you're only in a place for a month.

"Should we split up and meet back here, then? Or go pack one room at a time as a group?"

"I already prepared beforehand." He holds up an opaque container idly, most of his belongings already within it. There hadn't been a lot to pack anyway, even with three years to accumulate new belongings. What was still left in his room he could go back and carry himself.

"Unless you two need my help. But before even that, pick a room."

Because just piling everything by the entrance would not be allowed.

So even Rutherford was learning new tricks here... But damn, it was actually a pretty good idea. It would make moving everything a hell of a lot easier.

"I'll just grab the room next to Ayumu's. That should work, right?" In other words, he's handing the decision-making off like a lazy bum. "I dunno about you guys, but I've accumulated some stuff-- it'll give me more time to pack it all up." He's already turning to leave as he speaks.

Ayumu sighs a little as Hizumi passes off the choice of rooms to him, glancing after him as he leaves. Really?

Oh well. He turns back to Eyes with a light shrug, before glancing around. "Where are the bedrooms?"

Eyes returns the shrug, setting the container down on the nearest flat surface. Hizumi agreeing to even be in the same house as he was already more than he had expected, honestly.

"Two on end of the house, two on the other, separated by the sitting room. Simply pick which side you'd prefer, and I'll be on the opposite." And they can have their privacy while Eyes can keep watch on any visitors who might spend the night over.

Not that he really expected to have any.
