The Grey Sickness is officially declared gone and Asgard begins tearing down its walls.

DAY 580 ( MAR. 5/6 )

Honir permanently opens the portal for travel between canon worlds and Yggdrasil. Henceforth, any character can come and go as they please.

DAY 583 ( MAR. 11/12 )

Frigg gives any willing Travellers the ability to redesign the earth through expressions of emotion or art. Asgard has a huge tree-planting party with blessed water to encourage faster growth.

DAY 585 ( MAR. 15/16 )

Small councils are formed with Travellers at the head of them to begin rebuilding the new kingdoms around the world.

DAY 590 ( MAR. 25/26 )

New Giants are born neutral of any bias for people to bring into the world with the Lokis as their Kings.

DAY 600 AND ONWARD

Grinning, Ellie nudges her elbow. "Besides, I'm not planning on dying any time soon."

"What did I say about making it weird?"

"Exactly."

Settling a hand over the back of Clem's shoulders, Ellie held on, finally letting go of all the lingering hurt and worry.

"... shit. We're actually both gonna be fine, huh?" Her voice gentled. "That's the first time I've said that in a long time and actually... felt like it might turn out that way."

[Honestly, her reaction is funny enough to make up for it. It gives him a good, short laugh at least.]

It's fine, it's fine. But I don't think it could ever be anythin' like that.

"Honey cakes, huh?"

Ellie leads him over to the kitchen, nudging back one of the chairs, then catching it with her toe to pull it back under her as she sits.

"You're gonna make her fat, and then I'm gonna have to roll her everywhere."

Beer wasn't high on Ellie's agenda for the day, but she was high enough on the excitement not to need it. Later on, after talking to Riley and a couple of the others, she spotted Tris in the streets and broke away from talking to someone to come running at her, waving one arm wildly.

"Tris! Tris, you heard, right?"

[Maybe Hizumi should have checked to see who was approaching before he spoke, but would it have really made any difference?]

I don't believe there is a proper protocol for how to celebrate these events, Hizumi. I haven't heard of one.

[He maintains the smile, at least, even if his heart isn't in it at all. If there's one thing he's good at, keeping a smile against the encroaching dark would be it.]

Still, I wouldn't wanna bring down the mood or anythin', you know?

That would depend entirely on your intentions behind it. [And so Eyes crosses his arms, looking toward the instrument in the other's hand. Whether Hizumi wanted him to or not, Eyes was going to stick around a while.]

The music may seem saddening, but if it sounds that way then there must be a reason, don't you think?

Hmm, I wonder?

[His voice remains pleasant, at least?]

[He will be your reliable jerk of a nephew to the very end, Hizumi.]

Then you do wish to bring down the moods of others?

[He makes a show of looking around, as if genuinely thinking there might be others hiding in the vicinity. Finding no one, he turns back to Eyes with an innocently curious look.]

Like who? As far as I can tell, the only one here is you, and it's not like I was askin' you to come.

No, but I'm afraid it isn't just the piano that attracts my attention. [He even raises his eyebrows a little at that.

Really Hizumi, he's a musician, and how wasn't that going to stick out when everyone else was being merry in the open?]

Huh, that so? My bad, then.

But it isn't like I wanted to hole up in my room, either-- besides, you'd just find me there, too.

Maybe I would have, but then you would have had a door. [There are reasons he sleeps at the other end of the house.]

So you would rather I leave this realm quickly?

You could. Looks like Ayumu's set on goin' back, so it's not like you've gotta keep watchin' anymore.

[He manages, somehow, to keep his voice absolutely calm as he says it. Flat, but devoid of the anxiety the thought still causes even these two days later.]

"I am" He agrees merrily "So you had best take that as motivation not to dawdle overly, lest she be unrecognisable on your return!"

She took a few steps toward her friend, but didn't have much of a chance of meeting her halfway with Ellie running like she was. She grinned.

"Is there anyone who hasn't heard?"

Maybe not. [He doesn't even question Ayumu going back—if that man felt he had the obligation, then nothing Eyes would say could stop him from going if he tried to convince him to stay. He had rarely listened to anything he had ever said.]

Do you think I'm postponing it only because of you two?

You're the one who asked me in the first place.

I know you've got a thing for Ayumu's playin', but I'm guessin' it's some loose ends you've gotta tie up that's keepin' you here.

I suppose I was. [And he'll ask again if he feels like it, but for now his expression becomes contemplative. That was mostly it, but...]
