Who: Morgana Pendragon & Mary Campbell
What: Shopping spree!
When: March 25th
Where: Freya district
Rating: PG
[ Mary's Campbell message left her excited. It's been so long since she's done anything remotely enjoyable. Dresses she loved and the chance to see how clothes go for women at Mary's world was a chance she wasn't about to miss. It was nice, there were so few girls in Camelot she found herself caring about. She remembered travelling in the market with Gwen, but Gwen and her always had to play the lady and the maidservant, with Mary there was more freedom.
She took care to wear the earrings Mary got here as she walked to Freya district. It was important, these gestures between friends. ]

[They come upon a store whose sign has two letters in full color; some color can be spotted farther back in the store through the windows.]
The shops around here have more color than the ones in Sigyn, and Heimdall barely has any.

[ small smirk. ]
After you, my lady.
no subject
Why thank you, my lady.
[She ~flounces~ up to the door and opens it for Morgana with a sweeping gesture, standing aside to let her in.]
no subject
In Camelot all my gowns were made for me - so this is a first.

Everything you had was tailor-made? You aren't going to like jeans shopping.

[Welcome to the joy of pants shopping. She tugs Morgana closer, drifting pass a rack of clothes critically.]
Do you... wear pants? At all?
no subject
[ rolling her eyes. ]
no subject
[Wearing pants in Camelot? Her imagination is full of screaming peasants and witch-burnings. Newts.]

[Said wryly, with a slight smile. Mary never especially appreciated being unusual, but she embraced it by necessity.
Okay, moment over, time for Mary to dart forward and start staring intently at Morgana's lower half.]
I wonder what size you are.
no subject
A bit larger than you are, to be sure.
no subject
[Grabbing a pair of jeans off the rack at random and holding them up to her- and they don't look obviously wrong.]
Cool, you can try these on.
Milady.

I would need a shirt, I think.
[ Her shift is too long to look good with these. ]
no subject
We can do that. [She gestures to the shirts that are just over yonder~]
I wouldn't worry about the color. If we take it home it'll probably get color soon.
no subject
[ She picks one for herself and a different one for Mary, grinning over her shoulder. ]
It's like a game of a sort. Guess the color.

[The HORROR. Mary draws nearer to peer at the shirts Morgana chose, holding a few in hand and a couple skirts she plucked at random from the rack.]
If you're really lucky, it'll say- [Checking one of the sales tags, then-] Aha! Look, it says, see?
[A small printed "GREEN" on the tag.]
no subject
[ She picks up one that reads "RED". ]
Amazing, the ways around this city's flaws.
no subject
Okay, I think that's good- it'll look good with the jeans. [Touching her arm lightly.] Come on, let's try stuff on.
no subject
[ She can only imagine how silly she'll must look, after everyone got used to seeing her in gowns. ]

[The most reassuring smile. As they weave through racks to get to the changing rooms Mary plucks some things off of shelves or racks at random without breaking stride, including a pair of intriguing tights and a scarf that looks like it might have a pattern.]
Okay, here we go.
[She hands over the Morgana-sized stuff she's holding and, with another smile, they vanish into adjoining stalls. Mary finishes first and finds herself outside, adjusting layers and arranging herself in front of a mirror as she waits.]
no subject
Well it looks well on you.

[S t a r e. Morgana in real people clothes. It's kind of boggling, actually. After a moment she shakes her head, snapping out of it.]
No, you look so good! [Coming closer to inspect.] The jeans look a little loose. You could try a size down.
[Yes, Morgana, the pants have to be tight.]
no subject
[ Mary, what's wrong with these? ]
no subject
[Thinking ahead! Etc. Mary continues to look her over, headtilting a little at how oddly the shirt is laying on her. Then it occurs to her- Morgana's probably wearing a corset or something. Okay, dealing with that later. Baby steps.]
no subject
I can barely move -
[ laughing, so unused to this. ]
no subject
[Leather's a good common ground, right? At any rate, she smiles back and beckons her over to the mirror.]
Come on, you look so good, take a look.
