(OPEN!) Nashi's first day out~

Who: Hanako (burntviolet), Hisao (seventeenpills), Nashi, and YOU!
What: They head to the Library again to search for pet books. Nashi, Hanako's new pet puppy, will follow along. Feel free to bother them~
When: Day 67, afternoon.
Where: Great Library, Odin district.
Rating: C for Cuteness overload??? But srsly tis a G story.



[Thanks to the help of the people in the network, Hanako could have some homemade dog food prepared, precious advices, a shiny collar with leash courtesy of Hibiki, and a name for her new pet puppy.

However, she thinks this is not enough to learn about keeping a dog, so she and Hisao decided to head for the Library again and research for some sort of "How to own a puppy for dummies" books they could borrow. That, and they also have to give back all the books they've read last time. Cool beans.

Because there seems to be no apparent policy against bringing animals in the Library, Hanako has taken the liberty to bring Nashi along. Right now she's sitting on a beanbag, book in her hands and another pile of volumes on the table nearby. She's still wearing the infamous hoodie that's covering her scars as best as possible, trying to ignore how crowded the place is at this time of the afternoon.

Nashi, in the meantime, is plopped on the floor at her owner's feet, with her eyes looking up at random, and her ears down. Hanako's just reprimanded her gently for trying to nibble on the beanbag.]

[There's a small figure slinking around, ducking behind the nearest bookshelf when she catches sight of the familiar face.]

Oh. [Rue gasps when the dog seems to look straight at her.]

[And Hanako hears the noise, startling instantly.]

... Ah?! W-w-who's there?

[airborn]

Me. [Rue peeks out from behind the bookshelf sheepishly.]

...will the puppy bite?

[burntviolet]

... Uh...

No, she w-won't. I don't think sh-she will.

[Nashi tilts her head curiously.]

[Hanako was nice enough when they talked last time. Rue decides to slip out into the open and approach her.

When she's close enough, she crouches, holding a hand out cautiously for Nashi.]

Did you name the puppy yet?

[burntviolet]

Ah yes... I n-named her Nashi. Someone suggested that t-to me.

[The puppy approaches and sniffs her hand carefully.]

That's a nice name! Does it mean anything?

[She scratches behind Nashi's ear just as carefully. There weren't that many dogs around in the orchards, and she's only seen the large, aggressive kinds that help guard the harvests from thieves. This one's calm and much cuter looking.]

"Born in the west", apparently. But it's also the name of a fruit.

[Nashi happily nuzzles her hand, once she registered the smell and considered that the person is no danger.]

Maybe not a flower, but still close enough!

Hi, Nashi. [She takes the nuzzling as a go ahead and begins petting the puppy in earnest.] Where did you get her?

Someone gave her to me... do you know Laurent?

[Yes good Nashi loves petting!]

No...what's he like?

[Rue smiles happily as Nashi allows her to pet, only withdrawing her hand to look through her pockets for food. Hmmm there's still some jerky from lunch.

She pulls the bit of jerky out and looks at Nashi thoughtfully.]

He was in my house... we had the same power, and we were... friends, I guess.

[Turning a bit gloomy.] He was sent back home right after he made this gift to me.

[Nashi stares at the jerky, then carefully sniffs it.]

Oh...that happens a lot doesn't it? I hear about people disappearing all the time.

[Carefully feeds a bit of jerky to Nashi to see if the pup will accept it.]

Do you miss him a lot?

[burntviolet]

I happens... and yes, I miss him a little... I wanted to thank him for the gift, at least.

[ Nashi would finally accept it! And then she'll nibble on it eagerly. ]
