[ the time has come: for all the reading claudia has done, and all the exploring during the days, and all her aggression in acquiring allies, a madame of roma must learn the night life of a city. particularly if she is considering becoming a madame of asgard. folkvang's extreme discretion, though, leaves her skeptical of the number of brothels she would find; and the locals are so lifeless, she is sure said brothels are lacking in many customers. the same goes for the bars, and as she has heard them called, "clubs." still, claudia is determined to learn of the vices available in asgard and who partakes in said vices.

even if she is slightly low on coin. perhaps she can add pickpocketing to her own vices because she may well do it, tonight, if needed... because it had been another day in a boutique, accepting fashion suggestions from the staff. they had insisted on heels for partying, and when they had found a pair stable enough, claudia caved. she remains unsure of the style, itself, but claudia is always very sure of her own body: she looks fantastic, her compliments to the shop's employees.

so perhaps she seems to plan on earning coin another way. you will be forgiven for mistaking her for a working prostitute. kaz. ]

[She laughs again, because it's pretty hard to tell, honestly. She was sure that Johan was grateful enough for her help, but whether it was for her or just assistance getting back to "normal" for him, that was hard to say. Either way, she wasn't too bothered.

Diva makes a thoughtful noise, then decides to just go ahead and say his name, since she doesn't think it will matter much. Also dancing around this is annoying ooc]

Johan shows his appreciation in different ways from most people, I think, but he does.

Johan? Liebert?

[She's not surprised that Claudia has met him, since Johan did have a magnetic personality. Still, she feels a small flare of jealousy, though her expression doesn't change at all and thinks to herself to ask Johan about it later.]

Oh, you've met? Yes, Johan Liebert.

Sì, at the Lux.

[ god, she will never say it without "the." smh. ]

[It's okay Claudia, it took me legit a year to realize it was just "Lux" and not "the Lux"]

Of course! Probably on the opening night, right? He was welcoming everyone, since he's a... manager, I think it is? I never quite asked what exactly it was that he did.

[She runs a hand through her hair lightly, an idle gesture] He must have made a good impression.

[ nods. ]

We've spoken more than once.

I'm not surprised. [She laughs] He has a very magnetic personality.

[Though, she thinks to herself with some satisfaction, that Claudia doesn't even know the half of it. She knew Johan like no one here except for possibly Nina did. All of that charm was only part of his appeal, and no one knew it or wanted it more than she did.]

It's funny though, because even with that magnetic kind of personality, he gets into trouble a lot! I've actually had to take care of him a few times. [She giggles] But don't tell him that I told you. It's a secret, alright?

[ she wouldn't call him magnetic, personally, but when she thinks of such personalities, the borgia are the first to come to mind. charming, when they chose to be, but dangerous. the sort you can't help but walk to your doom with. claudia doesn't know that side of johan, and while she is pulled to him like everyone else, she is the type of woman to make her own pull, too. no one has the best of an auditore. in that regard, at least. ]

Is he, really, so clumsy? I saw he burned his hand...

Oh, I wouldn't say clumsy... Just unlucky.

[Her smile quirks just a little] There was a person who had something of a grudge against him.

Was? Did this person... Leave Asgard?

[ if only because she knows death is not permanent in this place. of course, she is not stupid to think diva has clean hands, either. no politician is as clean as marble. and certainly not a queen. ]

He did, the other day.

[She looks to her drink with a very slightly rueful expression] It's for the best, though, since he was a nuisance.

But I cannot imagine someone angry with Johan...

[ which is a lie. she can. because otherwise, he is too damn good to be true, and after the spring party, claudia doesn't want that be true. he has faults; she will find them, but she imagines she won't mind them, either.

(this meta is killing me... slowly but surely.) ]

Of course you can't, she thinks. There's something annoying about this conversation, something grating severely against her now that the conversation has turned to Johan. Her smile is cool and elegant, not at all betraying anything other than the perfect and polite manners of a lady.]

Well, it's not as if he's perfect, you know?

[But she's wondering if Claudia is interested in Johan, and that's just not acceptable. She laughs warmly, shaking her head, and that jealousy and uncertainty is enough for her to abandon all the secrecy she'd been keeping.]

I mean, I guess I'd know that better than anyone else, since we're...

[Diva raises her hand, crossing her fingers of the hand not holding the martini glass] ...together, you know? But we both decided to keep it a secret. So that's just between the two of us, alright?

[She feels some of that jealousy ebb away having that out there, and certainly feels justified in any action she might take if Claudia might continue to pursue him. Well, in her nutso mind, at least.]

But Claire and Johan just had very... different personalities, to say the least. They didn't get along, and Claire was a very violent man. So it's better that he's gone, you know. I'm happy that Johan is safer, of course.

[ if she wanted to be, claudia could be cruel. funny, he seems to have diverting attentions. whether she means it or not and regardless of her own intentions. because diva may have airs of a lady, but jealousy is an ugly thing on her. claudia doesn't aim to play that way, though, not for men she wants — certainly, not for allies and appearances.

she doesn't skip a beat. ]

I'm sure the rest of us are safer for his absence as well.
