IT IS COMING. IT IS HERE. PLANT ALL THE THINGS, ALL THE THINGS!
Who: EVERYONE AND ANYONE EVER FOREVER.
What: ARBOR DAY IN DA CITY.
When: Day 109, from early in the morning to late in the evening!
Where: Beginning in the Sigyn Welcome Hall, and then EVERYWHERE ELSE!
Rating: Let's go with PG. If sexy or bloody shenanigans occur, please make a private post!
Note(s): Threadhopping, threadjacking and backtagging is absolutely fabulous and fine. EVERYTHING goes, and everyone can comment- even those who don't partecipate actively to the event.

[ 7:00 AM.
The big, city-wide holiday has finally come. For Hanako and Damien, it seemed like forever, but in actuality it was a whole ten days of preparing, planning, organizing, advertising, spending, and working. It was a hell of a lot of sweat and tears, but eventually they've done it. This is, without any doubt, the biggest achievement.
The crowd standing around the Sigyn Welcome Hall is impressive. They're more than they could ever imagine. The natives cover most of it, of course, and among them there are also the grey and faceless, sign that the general enthusiasm of everyone else drove them in somehow. Just as they thought, it worked. The ferocious advertising they had done the past days really paid off.
There were no particularly outstanding decorations, but there are fancy ribbons and strings spread here and there. This is not a party, although the table stands with food and refreshments may make it look like one. Those are all for lunch break, although they could be refurnished in case there will be an improvised party at the end of the day...
Standing at the entrance, there is a large sign with painted words written on them. Instead of an actual speech, Hanako and Damien decided on letting people know through something less pretentious. ]
WELCOME, CITIZENS! THANK YOU FOR TAKING PART IN THE ARBOR DAY! Please read this!
- Pick whatever gardening tools you need! If you brought them with you, all the better!
- Look for a companion to work with! It is not necessary nor obligatory, but planting is more fun when you have someone sharing their experience with you!
- Choose an area you want to fill with whatever you want to plant. This way, you won't have to scatter around the city messily and tire yourself out more then necessary.
- Please keep the tools once you finished your work! They may be important if you'd like to start a garden of your own.
- Refreshments and food will be provided to you during lunch break. Drinks will be distributed once every two hours, to make your work less tiring.
- You may bring your own seeds. Every type of plant is legitimate, unless it's poisonous or dangerous for animals or humans alike.
- Growth users may use their power to speed things up. Be mindful of your energies, though!
- Have fun planting!
[ Indeed, laying and occupying pretty much most of the welcome hall, set on either tables or the ground, there are plenty of gardening tools. Watering cans, shovels, rakes, hoses, dibbers, handling items, pots, whole packs of soil, and the list could go on forever and ever. They're just waiting to be picked and used, along with a great amount of seeds of any kind.
Come to Damien or Hanako if you need some pep talk before the planting, although they will sure totally suck at it. Just... talk to them, if you'd like. Other than that, enjoy and remember: you can be the star of today, it is you!
... I suck at ending posts, I'm so sorry ]

[Option 3!]
Who in the hell brought a chainsaw to this town, at a time like this. She looked around the corner at Kanaya, and her jaw just dropped. There was another of these gray-skinned, yellow horned things that looked like demons, mauling a tree in what she had to assume was a twisted version of trimming or pruning.
"Ummmm," was all she got out during one of those moments that the thing was down to puttering rather than revved up.
no subject
Her skin is a great deal lighter than those of her species -- in fact, it's quite white and pale. But those horns are always a constant, and a big tipoff that yes, she is a troll.
She's only in the middle of her work. It'll look better once she's finished, promise! She's put down the saw for a moment in order to survey what needs to be done, and that's when she hears Samantha.
"Yes?"
no subject
"Isn't that thing dangerous to go waving around like that?" she said, leaning against a tree and leaving the wheelbarrow with saplings next to her waiting for plantings. "What exactly are you trying to do?"
no subject
"Not if you know how to use it, which I do. Some of the fully grown trees required a more aesthetic touch."
She turns back to her tree, readying her chainsaw again.
"I suggest coming back when the product has been completed. I've only just started."
no subject
At the very least, maybe it would give her a better idea about these creatures. They looked like demons, but they didn't act at all like them, at least not the sorts she'd seen. They were too unpredictable and chaotic.
no subject
Cue the revving of her chainsaw, as she returns to her work. Unfortunately for Samantha, she's chosen the most odd of the trolls to study. Most of those in her species wouldn't even consider something of an aesthetic nature.
Eventually, the mass of green will begin to resemble some sort of cloud.
no subject
"Curious choice. So the trees meet the sky?" she said with a bit of a smirk, at least impressed that the troll had managed something like that with a chainsaw. Admittedly, that made her more than slightly nervous about the dangers of tangling with someone who used something like that.
After all, that sort of a tool almost screamed a violent personality.
no subject
It's not a lie -- her dreams on Prospit and the Skaian clouds were able to show her events that were to happen in the future. The hard part was reading them and filling in the blanks, but the fact that she knew at least a bit of what was to come was a reassurance.
As for violence? Well, that's only if she's angry enough.
no subject
"Samantha," she added, eyes regarding the woman levelly, trying to get a measure of her. For now, it felt like she was dealing with a modern art sculptor. That, at least made some sense... some.
no subject
She looks over her topiary masterpiece once more, deeming it sufficient enough for show. It's been awhile since she's sculpted, but she's still got it!
"Kanaya. It's a pleasure to meet you." she replies, shifting her chainsaw to it's lipstick tube state before climbing down from her ladder and giving a curtsy.
no subject
"That thing, how in the hell did you get that?" she said, motioning towards the tiny tube and getting up. She gave a lame sort of bow, being rather unaccustomed to that sort of motion. "I have to say it's... impressive."
no subject
She smiles, unscrewing the tube and putting the black side of the lipstick on her already naturally black lips. They can always be blacker, you know.
no subject
And yeah, the black of her lips was definitely something she could appreciate. She had an occasionally gothic sensibility herself after all.
no subject
A lot of people don't seem to know what those sorts of mechanics are. It's strange, but not surprising. She's learned firsthand that Asgard brings all kinds here, and Samantha is not an exception.
no subject
Samantha definitely had little to no experience with trolls or anything from their world. She only really knew that they existed, and was still struggling to believe they weren't just some screwed up version of demons. the chainsaw wasn't helping.
no subject
It's to be expected -- what human would be so ready to accept that aliens exist? It can be draped with the fact that they're in a world ruled by gods, but it's still a shock nonetheless, and Kanaya knows that.
no subject
no subject
"Several things, all of which are complications of a long and drawn out story. But the most obvious include my luminescent skin and requirement of blood to survive."
She'll let the girl draw her conclusions from that.
no subject
At least, as long as the vampiric troll kept her distance.
"But fair enough I suppose. You learn something new every day."
no subject
"I promise that I have any unfathomable bloodlust under control. You don't need to worry."
And she replies to her other observation, "In a world like this with the sheer amount of people from other universes, it's almost impossible to not learn something new. Wouldn't you agree?"
no subject
"Half the battle's figuring out what's real and what's fake when you're running into things in a place like that. The other half's figuring what it all means for you."
