it's okay to be afraid [open]
Who: Clara Oswald + Ensemble (no really, it's open)
What: Post Friendly Fire stuff and things
When: Days 404 & 405
Where: Thor 103 & around
Rating: Probably will keep around PG/PG-13
The feeling of being off was gone, she could feel a tug and then things went back to how they should be, power wise. Unfortunately, the damage to her body was done due to growth working her insides over, and she was still left with hardly any life in her. She remains in her position outside in the gardens of Thor 103, leaning against a tree to keep her sitting upright. As day 404 breaks, she can hear life around her going on, and manages a tired smile. She thinks that if maybe she could get someone's attention, they just might notice her, and a healer would actually be able to help her now. She had been too afraid before, what with the powers going absolutely mad, but now...
Well. Maybe things stand a chance of working out.
Her mouth drops open, and she finds her throat incredibly dry and her lips cracked and pained. She just barely manages a few hoarse calls for help, but she realizes that no one is going to hear her over the sounds of the city getting back to normal, and with a soft sigh she resigns herself to shutting her eyes and drifting off.

Day 404 - Jamie, Ril, & Six

His worst fears are realized the moment he comes across her, propped up against a tree and so very still, much like she'd been in the mirror city. There's something that looks like blood on the ground next to her, and he doesn't know if it is - or if it is if it's hers or someone else's, but the sight of it chills him to his bones all the same.]
Clara! No...och, not again.
[Kneeling down next to her, he looks for - and finds - a pulse - but it seems weak and thready to him, not a good sign at all. Her lips are cracked, like she hasn't had anything to drink for ages, and he's getting the idea that she's in very bad shape indeed. For a split second he considers picking her up and running with her to the hospital, but he doesn't know how badly she's hurt, or if he'll make it worse. And he's only just left the group at the gates. They'd not have had time to get far, and he could catch up with them just as easily. Biting his lip, he looks back over his shoulder and down at her for a moment longer.]
Hang on, Clara. I'll find someone for ye. Just stay here with us, alright?
[And he takes off like a shot, the thought of 'Please don't die' running through his head as he speeds towards someone - anyone - he knows with healing before it's too late.]

But besides that, he's as anxious as she is to check on the people who he's come to think of as 'his', if only in a technical sense. And if running ahead helps her to calm down a bit, that's just as well; she ought to have plenty of energy just now, so he isn't terribly worried about catching up just yet.]

[It doesn't take Jamie too long to spot them, not when his eyes are already half-scanning the people he's passing for the sight of one of the Doctors anyway. The fact that Ril's a little further ahead does mean that he comes to a sudden stop next to her rather than run over to Six, a frantic expression on his face. A moment later, his natural clutching instincts kick in, meaning he's doing his best to try and grab at her sleeve to get her attention even though he's already telling her what's going on.]
Ril! It's Clara. She's hurt, or...I don't know. But something's wrong with her. Really wrong. Ye have to come back with me!
no subject
I'll fix it, I promise.
no subject
Yes, of course, Jamie. Just show Ril where she is, and I'll be right behind you.
[Though there's not much he'll really be able to do aside from picking Ril up when she's done, but... he'll do whatever he can to help.]
no subject
Aye. She's back at the house. In the garden.
[He means Thor 103 in this case, but doesn't think to clarify which one. There's far too much concern about Clara right now for him to bother with small things like specifics. Instead, he tugs on Ril's arm once more before letting go, already turning to run back in that direction.]
Come on!

See? She told everyone she'd be just fine. And she is.
Mostly.
The second one of them scoops her up, though, she easily curls up against them. Up until her body gives out completely and she goes limp, but she's most definitely still hanging in there by a thread.]
no subject
Shh. Don't say anything, Clara. It'll be alright. You'll be just fine.
[Still, he can't but turn an anxious look towards Ril and the Doctor, the worry he's feeling over her still a very real thing despite his words. He knows on that Ril can help, but will it be enough?]
no subject
It'll have to do.
She releases Clara's hand, her own shaking.]
Jamie, get her inside. See if Eleven or Eight is available. [Her breath is short, labored, and she shivers as she struggles to keep herself conscious and moving.] I'm. Going to make tea.
no subject
When it's over, he steps forward to catch her elbow, helping to hold her upright.]
Oh, no you don't. I'll make the tea, and you'll sit down until you're no longer in danger of falling over. Jamie? Can you manage with Clara, or shall I come back once I get Ril settled inside?
[He'd carry them both at once if he could, but he can't quite manage that, and he wants to make sure Ril isn't about to pass out and make herself into another patient for Eight or Eleven.]
no subject
Aye, I can manage with Clara right enough. Ye take care of what ye need to, Doctor.
[And before he does anything else, he reaches over to take Ril's hand, just for a moment, squeezing it and giving her a grateful look at the same time.]
Thank ye, Ril. I don't know what would've happened if I couldn't find ye.
[He lets go then, turning back to Clara and kneeling down in order to gather her into his arms. He's carried her before, but not hurt like this - and if Ril is saying Eight or Eleven is still needed, he knows Clara's not completely better. Accordingly, when he goes to pick her up, he's as careful as he can be, cradling her with a gentleness that he doesn't often display in public. Hopefully the extra care will be enough so as not to make things any worse then they already are, currently.]
And I'll look for them, aye. But if either of ye happen to see Eight or Eleven before I do, let them know she'll be in her room.

There's a drowsy smile as she feels Jamie pick her up and cradle her close, and her eyes feel heavy as she forces them open an looks around. The motion dizzies her and she makes a soft noise of protest, but still attempts to look for Ril so she can offer her friend as much of a smile as she can manage.]
Thank you. I thought I was going to die.
[The words are soft and raspy, but she wants to get them out and in the open so the others can hear them.]
Take care of her, Six. Least until I can be up on my feet, making tea for her.
[And wow, those words were a lot to get out, and feeling incredibly drained just from that, she rests up against Jamie and falls silent.]
no subject
Clara's words stir her.]
No one dies if I can still heal. [It's quiet but fierce.] ...maybe a nap before tea. [Ril leans into Six, her arms around him, and her cheek against his side.] Just a little one.
no subject
[He'd been going to say the kitchen, but with the way she's leaning against him, and talking about a nap... he doesn't even bother to sigh resignedly as he scoops her up into his arms, bridal-style.] Try not to fall asleep just yet, mmm? You should probably have some tea before you sleep. It'll do you good.
no subject
Alright, then. I'll let ye know if I do.
[He has to fight the urge to pull Clara a little closer to him, because as much as he wants to, he also doesn't want to jar her too much. That small noise of protest could've been a noise of pain just as easily, and he definitely doesn't want to do that. It means he'll have to be extra slow with going up the stairs, but for her, he'll do it. At least he's able to manage to get past the doorway leading inside quickly enough that Ril won't have to lean against Six like that for very long. The sooner she's able to get off her feet too, the better, from what he can see.]
