[The morning after Zessica arrived, she found herself waiting on the front porch of Loki's welcome house for her scheduled company to arrive. She had spent a bit of the previous night altering her wardrobe a little. Coupled with a pair denim shorts, it would work for the moment.

Currently seated on the steps, she remembered she had no idea what Euri looked like. Hopefully she'd be easy to spot if they got separated later.]

Mm, that'd be great! I want to learn more about music I can sing. I've learned a lot of jazz so far and someone referred to my music from back home as 'traditional folk', but there's a lot more out there than those two genres.

[zessica]

There definitely is. Music's not exactly my forte-- it's more of a thing for a friend back home-- but I'd love to help you out with it.

[occulthymns]

Any help would be great, really. [And as Loki house was fairly close to Freyr to begin with, they'll be entering that district now!]

[zessica]

I'll do what I can, so I guess we'll start with the stuff I'm more familiar with. After that, we can both check out other things. [They were walking quickly!]

Sounds like a plan. [And small timeskip to the music store?]

[zessica]

[Yes please! They're outside it now, and Zessica heads on in, holding the door for Euri.]

Okay, first thing's first: don't get freaked out.

[Euri follows, glancing over at Zessica.]

Freaked out? Why?

[zessica]

I'm not sure how much you've seen before. It may startle you? [She shrugs a little cluelessly.]

[occulthymns]

I'll be okay! [She's been in a music store before!

For about five minutes.



....... It might have overwhelmed her. A little.]

[zessica]

If you say so. [Zessica goes on in, heading straight over to a wall of CDs and picking one up to inspect.]

[occulthymns]

[Yeah Euri is definitely sticking close, peering over Zessica's shoulder. She looked at CDs before, but they just confused her and she still has no idea how they work.]

What is that thing?

[zessica]

[Euri's proximity gets a glance, but she doesn't object. Instead, she holds the CD up for her to look at.]

It's called a CD. It holds recorded music. [Pointing to a pair of headphones hanging by a scanner.]

Those go over your head to cover your ears so you can listen. The barcode here [Point.] scans right there, and music on the CD starts.

[Euri is in awe, because there's nothing even close to CDs in her world. If you want to hear music you have to find someone willing to sing in person or just do it yourself, and bizarre metal circles certainly aren't involved in the process.]

Ah....

[Like the rest of the technology here, she's chalking it up to magic.]

How do you scan it??

[zessica]

[Once Euri had the headphones (partially) on, Zessica grabbed a CD and went to the machine.]

Like this-- [A BEEP is heard before some music starts playing through the headphones.]

[Euri's first reaction is to jump, but a split second later she's squealing with glee.

This is the coolest thing ever. It's as if someone is singing into the headphones! Oh god CDs are the best invention ever why don't they exist at home.

As soon as the chorus starts up a second time Euri will be humming the tune, then as soon as she's got the words down singing along.]

[zessica]

[Zessica puts a hand to her mouth to stifle the laugh that escapes her. Don't want to interrupt Euri after all! She can sort of hear the tune herself, so there's a little humming on this end, too.]

[occulthymns]

[She's going to listen to the song twice because it's nothing like she's ever heard and it's just so catchy. When it ends the second time Euri's looking over at Zessica, completely blown away.]

This is amazing!

[zessica]

It is pretty neat. [The second time, Zessica had been doing some looking of her own, and she'd found another thing the other girl might appreciate.]

Try another. [She holds out another CD to scan. Have some techno pop stuff.]

[occulthymns]

Okay!

[Aah, the next song! Euri is humming along immediately and once it picks up she's bobbing her head to the beat. It's so catchy!]

[zessica]

[She stands nearby waiting for it to end and Euri to speak once more, and there is a very smug look on her face.]

[In Euri's opinion that smugness is completely warranted. Recorded music is better than slice bread okay.

She'll only listen to this song once, pulling the headphones down when it's finished.]

That one was great too! It was really bouncy!

[zessica]

Hit the right arrow button down there. There are other songs on the CD, probably like that one.

- Really?? How many songs are on a CD?

[zessica]

[Zessica glances at the CD in her hand.]

This one has fourteen.

- That's so many! [she had been expecting one or two at the most.]
