NEW YEARS EVE FESTIVAL LOG (WOW GUYS, THIS TOTALLY ISN'T LATE OR ANYTHING...)
Who: Everyone!
What: New Years Eve! WUTWUT.
When: Err...New Years Eve. Wut...wut? (December 31st, Day 14, etc.)
Where: The Castle Plaza
Rating: Worksafe. If this changes, PLEASE INFORM THE MODS.
[Look down. Now back up! Where are you? You're in the Castle Plaza, with the Gods your Gods could God like.
[Lively, pleasant music hangs in the air around you as fireworks explode in the sky above. There is a tempting aroma teasing at your nostrils. Where is it coming from? Those long tables at the center of the plaza, overflowing with food you love. Craving anything from home? You'll be sure to find it there.
[Look around you. What do you see? Carnival games. Hundreds of Carnival games, including a dunk tank, and all for free! Carnival games not your thing? Why not give the dance floor a try? That music is awfully catchy, and just look at all those stunning lights!
[Enjoy yourselves, travelers. A New Year is upon us.]

So if you only have a bit, it's safe...?
no subject
Pretty much. Anything in excess is bad for you is all you need to remember, and that applies to alcohol too.
no subject
There's something else distracting her, though. She knows his voice... and the face isn't entirely unfamiliar, either.]
Um, are you in Heimdall?
no subject
Yeah, I am. I'm guessing you too, by that question. [Or if not, then she probably heard his message before.]
no subject
[A polite, shallow bow.]
I'm Mako Nakarai. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
I'm Zen, and pleased to meet you too.
How are you enjoying the festivities, then?
no subject
[But then she smiles a little, not wanting to concern him.] It's fun, though. I wasn't expecting things like festivals.
no subject
[As for him, well... Living with the Nura Clan meant there were demons looking at you from every corner, and parties were hardly quiet. This was closer to home for him than the quiet moments.] It's all right to admit that much.
no subject
Of course she doesn't get that personal with a near-stranger, though.]
I'm just from a small town, and I haven't been to many parties. We did go to the New Year's festivals back home, but... [They always came with their share of shunning and abuse.] ... they weren't like this.

The familiarity of his voice is still bothering her, though. If she could just place it...
... oh!] Um, are you the one who started the clinic in your room?
no subject
So you did hear my message, huh? Glad to know that.
no subject
I thought that was a really cool thing to do. Helping everyone like that, I mean. Everyone's got a skill, and if we all share our skills, we can function as a proper city until the townspeople come back to life.
no subject
Thanks for the encouragement, but it's not that big a deal. [He shrugs.] I figured it's better than staying idle here before those healer types run me out of business.
no subject
I - I think it's great. hope you can start up your own clinic. [Very serious.] I want to start a tailor shop with some friends when I've saved up enough for supplies... I don't mind working for the people here, but if I had my own shop, I could work on personal projects after hours.
no subject
He looks confused for a moment there, before something akin to being impressed imprints itself on his features.] A tailor shop at a young age? It's a good plan, and it can't hurt to start early.
How good are you?
no subject
[How good? Oh, she's not the type to talk herself up, but that won't exactly be very good for business.]
I... I guess I must be good, because the shop in Freyr didn't want to hire someone so young. The dress I came in is one I made, though, so I showed it to them and they changed their minds.
no subject
[... Huh. Interesting.]
Show me some of your stuff next time, all right? That sounds pretty impressive.

no subject
Oh - um - sure. All I have is that one dress, because I can't work on any of my own stuff while I'm at work. But I can show you that.
no subject
And that works for me. You're in Heimdall too anyway, right? So location's not an issue.
