[Look down. Now back up! Where are you? You're in the Castle Plaza, with the Gods your Gods could God like.

[Lively, pleasant music hangs in the air around you as fireworks explode in the sky above. There is a tempting aroma teasing at your nostrils. Where is it coming from? Those long tables at the center of the plaza, overflowing with food you love. Craving anything from home? You'll be sure to find it there.

[Look around you. What do you see? Carnival games. Hundreds of Carnival games, including a dunk tank, and all for free! Carnival games not your thing? Why not give the dance floor a try? That music is awfully catchy, and just look at all those stunning lights!

Well, I haven't seen anyone else wandering around in this kind of manner. So you're the first!

[ His polite manner seems to calm the laughing long enough for her to peer up at him. Because, goddamn is she ever short ]

[ whatever pride he has left after being seen by everyone lugging this thing around, anyway. her second comment does make him pause, though-- is it so unusual to not have seen someone around in a place as large as this? ]

I can only assume you are not of Thor district, then. [ because he does get around roam around over there a lot. ] My name is Lancer, Miss, though I doubt you have heard of me either.

Don't tell me you're one of those types who tend to find a good thing about every insult and make it about themselves.

[ Rin can take that pride and shove it where the sun doesn't shine if he likes. ]

No, I'm from the House of Baldr. Wait a moment, did you just say your name was Lancer? [ He's not the first Servant she's run into, but just to be safe. ] Are you familiar with that loudmouth by the name of Rider?

I did not take your words as an insult, Miss. [ though he kind of does see how it might have been one, now. ] If I am the first you have seen with such a large prize, then I have succeeded where others did not.

[ and there's a tone in his first sentence that says mmmmmaybe she shouldn't insult the much taller man with armor on, even if his two lances have been left safely back at home for today. he's a rather threatening presence, even without meaning to be. ]

Ah, yes. [ well, it's a reasonable assumption without even being a master. odd names are likely from the same place. ] He's an acquaintance of mine from home, and we share a house in this place.

[ God, how is she supposed to argue with someone who's nice in return? ]

I guess you can think of it that way. Geez, let's stop talking about your stupid toy for a moment and focus on what's important. [ Specifically that of his name. ] Right, so an acquaintance of yours.. that means you're from the Fourth Holy Grail War.

[ Familiar enough with the class, she gives him another look over from head to toe. Rider, Lancer, and Archer. ]

Sheesh, at this rate I'm going to question whether or not this city is the new hosting grounds for that war.

You know of the war, then? [ that puts him on guard (as much as one can be on guard while holding a giant bear), but not everyone involved in the war was a threat, or even bad... nor does that possessing that knowledge mean she was a participant. ] Were you a part of another, or simply a magus interested in such things?

[ it's not exactly a super hidden thing among them, from what he understands. he doesn't recognize this girl, but between meeting red saber and hearing of the experience of others, she might be from before or after his time. ]

I wouldn't have brought it up otherwise. Speaking of matters that don't involve me or that I'm ignorant in.. such acts are done in poor taste and I hardly ever submit myself to those kind of low standards. [ Sure is full of herself here. ] I'm told Servants are unusually honest with other Servants, but you speak to me without much restraint with such a bold question.

[ She didn't give the impression of a Servant, did she? While curious about that appearance, she does have to think on her reply. The name 'Tohsaka' resulted in a reaction from Rider a few days ago and she's without the knowledge of knowing just who her father might have fought against.

On the other hand, she's proud of who she is and her family bloodline. Neglecting to mention it may give the impression she's ashamed or overly cautious in a situation she shouldn't be. Well, she sees little need to lie at this point. ]

I'm a magus by the name of Rin Tohsaka.

It's not something you hear about in passing, Miss. I doubt it's possible to know of the war and still be ignorant in regards to it. [ looking at the standard of the masters in his war, it seems like the mages that did know about it were fairly well educated on the matter... even rider's master didn't appear to be a fool, just somewhat terrified of the other man. ] There is no need for secrecy in a situation like this, and it wouldn't suit my reputation to hold back in the first place.

[ if there's one thing he hated about the war, it was the fact he had to hide so much-- for someone who valued honor above all, it was a tough reality to deal with. her name does give him pause, however: while he never fought tokiomi himself, it's still one of the three great families. ]

There was a man by that name in the same war as I, though I never met him personally. You are related to him, I take it?

[ Humming as he spoke, she allows him to finish entirely before choosing to pick apart his points. It'd be rude stupid to interrupt someone who had knowledge she desired in some manner. With the confirmation that he's from the Fourth War set in her mind and the ease he never fought directly with her father, Rin can relax just a bit. Shifting her weight lazily on her right foot, she studies every one of his features, trying to gauge the kind of person he might be. ]

Your reputation is that important to you? Speaking of it to someone who remains ignorant to your true identity is no fun, but I'll understand if you keep it from me. After all, it would be a poor decision to just rattle your name off to every magi you came across. [ A shame others didn't exercise that very same restraint. ] If you're of the Lancer class though, I have no doubt you're a decent person.

[ Just don't let the Lancer of the Fifth War ever hear of that. She's certain he'd never shut up with the teasing then. ]

You're right though. I'm his daughter and victor of the Fifth Holy Grail War. [ Technicalities, who needs them? ] I thought I should inform you of that before you heard of it from Rider.
