[Closed] Let it all out
Who: Peeta Mellark and Finnick Odair
What: Having a private talk man to man
When: Afternoon
Where: Near the Park
Rating: PG-13 tops!
It was just like Finnick to let people know what they needed to and nothing more. But, honestly there were things that needed to be said. Finnick wasn't sure what he was doing was right, or even a good idea but if something happened he would have felt worse. Katniss needed to be protected, and Peeta had always been up to the task of doing that. However, could he protect her if he wasn't fully prepared?
The request to talk had been his alone. It hadn't been something he had sent out with too much of an explanation, hopefully Peeta would show up. Finnick had stopped and grabbed a drink before he had made it to the park at the allotted time. Taking a deep breath he sat on a bench and just enjoyed the quiet, making sure to put his thoughts in order.
This may have the opposite effect. It really might.
However, Finnick had to try. It would be out of his hands if Peeta failed to listen, and then they would definitely have problems.
"Ahhh." He slumped back against the seat as he let his head rest on the top of the bench back.

"You mentioned handcuffs when you first got here too. Why? Why should I get handcuffs? You're supposed to know more about what happens than the rest of us so tell me, what happens? What happens that would make me need handcuffs?"

"Here's my question to you Peeta. How much do you want to know?"
The other could only handle so much, and Finnick respected the boundaries because he knew that the other would most likely do the same. Peeta didn't seem like the type that would force anyone to listen to what he said, outside of Katniss of course, but then again those two were special. They had been close, and there was no mistaking the way they interacted. One day maybe Katniss would move forward and meet Peeta, but for now they had a lot of obstacles.
They would be very hard to overcome.

"I want to know everything you can tell me about what happens at home." It was something that would happen at home, that hadn't happened to Peeta yet, sure, but what if things took the same kind of turn in Asgard? Wasn't it better to be prepared?

Turning to where he was looking back at anything other than Peeta, Finnick held onto his cup and looked down towards the drink that was nearly gone. "When you were taken, Johana was captured, and I found out they had taken Annie things were bad. Katniss nearly clawed off Haymitch's face, and I just couldn't focus. But one day they brought you, Johana and Annie back. I've never been so happy to see her so I wasn't paying attention."
He paused and then looked back at Peeta, this was something he had to drive home. "The reason I asked you about the game, and told you to get handcuffs is because when you walked through that door your hands went around Katniss's neck and you hurt her Peeta."
Looking back down into the drink, he paused and took another breath. This was far more painful than he thought it was. "You meant to kill her, and Katniss had to rest even more after that. You were so spiteful and mean, but it wasn't your fault. The captiol had done something to you, and it was very horrible. You were crazy. Not like Annie of course, but crazy because they had poisoned your mind against Katniss. They did the worst thing to her that they could, and that was taking your strength away."

Eyes never leaving his hands, Peeta started to shake his head. "That has to be wrong. I would never do that to her."

Finnick let the silence hang in the air before he motioned around them. "Come on let's go for a little walk. It'll give you time to think, and ask questions if you want. I guess that's all I really wanted to tell you was that you hurt Katniss. It's the reason that we played, real or not real and the reason you wore handcuffs."
