What: Asgard Olympics Event Part 3
When: Day 113 during the day only (July 15)

The third day of the festival, characters will wake up to hear the same music again. In the park, the stage and the resource building have returned and the last events are ready to go!

When you make a thread, be sure to fill out your subject line! Make sure people know where you are and what you're doing. For the sake of making the log easier on browsers, we won't be posting category threads for each event, so try putting "talent show / beauty pageant / armwrestling contest" or whatever is relevant in your subject line.

The contests for the day are as follows:

First, the Talent Show. Characters will have the entire resource building to find instruments, costumes, and whatever props they might need for this show. Anything you'd take to a real talent contest can be performed here! NPCs (native shopkeepers from Freyr who've had their colour restored by now) will judge the talents and announce the winner!

The winners of the talent show will be:
First Place: Shiki Tohno and Shirou Emiya (Freya) (they both get individual prizes but share house points)
Second Place: Diva (Freyr)

Second, the Beauty Pageant. The resource building has every bit of clothing, make-up, or anything else you need to look your best! There are even NPC makeup and hair artists if you ask for them. Characters will get one chance to strut their stuff, and then a panel of native shopkeepers from Freya who have their colour back will pick the prettiest Traveller!

The winners of the beauty pageant will be:
First Place: Nezumi (Freyr)
Second Place: Caterina Sforza (Freya)

Third, the Armwrestling Contest. This is a contest of pure strength and stamina! The first two characters to arrive will wrestle, and it will continue with tournament brackets until the last two compete!

The winners of the armwrestling contest will be:
First Place: Kainé (Thor)
Second Place: Vanitas (Hel)

In the evening once it gets dark, the carnival setting will disappear into thin air, leaving only the stage. From this stage, one of your local Gods will announce the House that's won the overall contest and give out the prizes from the whole event (including the individual prizes for winning each contest). The prize info can be found on the event post! After that, they'll leave and take the stage with them.

Have fun, play hard, and good try to everyone who competes! Remember, your characters had to sign in for events ICly, but they're welcome to be thrown in even if you didn't sign them up already OOCly. Just jump into whatever you'd like!

Talent Show

[Euri is always eager to jump on the chance to sing, and the talent show is no exception. It's her drive to practice, practice, practice that her mother instilled in her that makes her sign up, and given that she's using this as a chance to practice she isn't bothering with music. Casting black magic doesn't require it and she's stronger without it anyway.

She'll be singing the hell out of this number a capella, and after she's finished she's heading down into the audience to catch the rest of the acts, curious to see what other kinds of things people will be doing and to find some of her friends to harass.]

[ ... This song. Hanako can't explain why, but it makes her eyes tingle a bit, as if tears want to come out on their own. Unlike that one time she was forced to sing against her will, though, this song is nicely soothing, and it doesn't remind her of bad things... however, it still makes her cry- and once the capella is over, she'll applaude heartily.

Euri can still find her on her seat, not moving since there are still other friends of hers that are going to exhibit. Maybe she could even catch her as she keeps wiping her tears with a handkerchief. Once she starts crying, she won't stop for a while... ]

[She'll be spotting her after her performance, while looking for anyone she knows in the audience. At first Euri is pleased to see Hanako there, but she hesitates when she realizes it looks as if Hanako is crying. So she'll feel a bit cautious when she approaches.]

Hey...! Are you okay?

...! Um-- yes I am... why you ask?

[ As if it's not obvious enough... ]

You looked like you were crying. Are you sure you're okay, Hanako? [She's pointing at the handkerchief for emphasis.]

I'm sorry- I... got carried away when you sang. [ Quickly wiping at her cheeks once again. ]

R - really?? [Holy shit, she actually made someone cry? That's impressive!

Euri's taking a seat next to Hanako, surprised and concerned.]

So - you're sure you're okay?

[burntviolet]

I'll be okay... I just get easily emotional.

[ She also wipes her nose with the tissue... well it wouldn't be polite if she just blew it in front of Euri. ]

[She nods slightly.]

If... if you're sure. But - thank you!

Um... [ She just nods at that, not wanting to refute that thanks- although she thinks she doesn't deserve it. Why is she so sensitive- she doesn't want to be this way... ]

You've done very well...

I've got to blame my mother for that. She never let me miss a chance to practice my singing, so it's become a bad habit.

... I don't believe that's a bad habit. It's actually beautiful singing. I wish I could be as good as you.

You could try! It just requires daily practicing.

[ When she won't be ashamed by the sound of her own voice. ]
