[OPEN] Asgard Olympics Day 113

What: Asgard Olympics Event Part 3
When: Day 113 during the day only (July 15)

Rating: G to R (take anything higher to a locked log please!)

The third day of the festival, characters will wake up to hear the same music again. In the park, the stage and the resource building have returned and the last events are ready to go!

When you make a thread, be sure to fill out your subject line! Make sure people know where you are and what you're doing. For the sake of making the log easier on browsers, we won't be posting category threads for each event, so try putting "talent show / beauty pageant / armwrestling contest" or whatever is relevant in your subject line.

The contests for the day are as follows:

First, the Talent Show. Characters will have the entire resource building to find instruments, costumes, and whatever props they might need for this show. Anything you'd take to a real talent contest can be performed here! NPCs (native shopkeepers from Freyr who've had their colour restored by now) will judge the talents and announce the winner!

The winners of the talent show will be:
First Place: Shiki Tohno and Shirou Emiya (Freya) (they both get individual prizes but share house points)
Second Place: Diva (Freyr)

Second, the Beauty Pageant. The resource building has every bit of clothing, make-up, or anything else you need to look your best! There are even NPC makeup and hair artists if you ask for them. Characters will get one chance to strut their stuff, and then a panel of native shopkeepers from Freya who have their colour back will pick the prettiest Traveller!

The winners of the beauty pageant will be:
First Place: Nezumi (Freyr)
Second Place: Caterina Sforza (Freya)

Third, the Armwrestling Contest. This is a contest of pure strength and stamina! The first two characters to arrive will wrestle, and it will continue with tournament brackets until the last two compete!

The winners of the armwrestling contest will be:
First Place: Kainé (Thor)
Second Place: Vanitas (Hel)

In the evening once it gets dark, the carnival setting will disappear into thin air, leaving only the stage. From this stage, one of your local Gods will announce the House that's won the overall contest and give out the prizes from the whole event (including the individual prizes for winning each contest). The prize info can be found on the event post! After that, they'll leave and take the stage with them.

Have fun, play hard, and good try to everyone who competes! Remember, your characters had to sign in for events ICly, but they're welcome to be thrown in even if you didn't sign them up already OOCly. Just jump into whatever you'd like!

[He thinks it is. It doesn't get as big of a reaction as he'd hoped, but eh. In a second, it just attempts to scale to the top of her head and use it like a spring board, leaping off into the crowd to go scare some unwary passer-by.]

[He's about a year (or is it closer to two, now?) too late and a lot of trolling too late to get that much of a reaction from her, though her arms do raise slightly from her sides as if she's almost considering interfering when suddenly there's a not!Unversed climbing all over her, and when it reaches the top of her head she ducks slightly, her shoulders rising, but there's no screaming and/or flailing involved; the closest thing is a sharp intake of breath toward the beginning.]

[The girl twists to look after the creature for a moment and assure she's really free of it - goodness, those poor innocent bystanders - then turns back to him, her arms slowly lowering to their original positions. She looks wary, yes, but also the tiniest bit exasperated. ... Well, perhaps she should be grateful they're in public.]

[She eyes him for a good few seconds, then, finally,]

... You could have just said 'hello'.

And you could've walked away.

[But she didn't. Which makes him a little more annoyed than is necessary. He remembers what she said when they were stuck together during the hugging event, and it makes him scowl inside, even if his expression remains neutral. He thought after he'd attacked Roxas, that she might've dropped her interest, but it seems like that isn't the case.]

What d'you want?

[She could have walked away faster if there hadn't been one of his little pets latched onto her leg, too, but she doesn't say that, even though her lips purse slightly as if she might be considering it.]

[Her interest isn't gone, no - though it is with a bit more anger than before. It's not like she can just stop keeping an eye on him after that; if anything, it's more reason to. (And it's still kind of hard not to pity him, whether he deserves it or not.) The question seems to require some consideration, and for a second it looks like she might just turn and go, but at last,]


To congratulate you. [She's not smiling, however.] You've been doing well.

You're a bad liar.

... You don't think you've been doing well? [Nope nope nope dodging that other meaning.]

[showmeanguish]

Oh, I have. I mean, congratulating me's obviously not what you're here for.

[lethechained]

[She straightens slightly, though apparently not particularly disquieted. Funny, her expression is almost pitying for a second there--]

... You might be surprised. [She wasn't there for much of anything, exactly, just keeping an eye on him without any actual intention of engaging, but... well. This is a much more productive way to spend his time than a lot of other ones, that's for certain.]

[showmeanguish]

[He catches that, but doesn't let his reaction show through. Instead, he just rests his arm against the back of his chair and flashes an almost-smile.]

What, my charming demeanor finally win you over?

[lethechained]

[Judging by the way her eyebrows raise ever so slightly, that's a 'no'.]

.... [And maybe the other day, she might have almost smiled. Now, though, after what happened, her mouth stays a line.]

Just giving credit where it's due, I suppose. [And encouraging him toward more productive pursuits... not that he actually cares about her approval.]

[showmeanguish]

Of course you were.

[Don't mind him if he still sounds sarcastic.] If you want revenge, go ahead and take it.

[lethechained]

[And the sad thing is she actually sort of meant it, even if it made her feel kind of slimy to say it.]

Revenge?

[She pauses, eyeing him.]

... I guess it's not surprising that you'd think that. [Just one more person who thinks little of her - not that she's even the slightest bit caught off-guard by that. After a moment, she shakes her head.]

I'm not you, Vanitas.

[Even if there are some unsettling similarities, sometimes.]

What good would that do? [Retribution, however, may still be forthcoming, though not entirely out of vengeance.]
