Who: Vanitas and YOU!
What: A late onset (or singling out) of a de-aging curse. Vanitas will be his newly created self for the next few, in-game days, and will have no memory of his previous life.
When: Day 128.
Where: Hel and later Gefion Park.
Rating: G or PG, probably no more than that.



[Scenario One: Morning in Hel. There's a kid decked out in the weirdest spiderman costume ever, complete with helmet, prowling around the lower hallways. He looks like he could be lost, and when he spots the nearest inhabitant (lucky you if you happen to be just stumbling out of your room from sleep), expect to be accosted with questions.

"Who are you, and where am I?"]

[Scenario Two: Sometime after lunch, the masked boy has managed to wander out to Gefion Park. His attention's been caught by some geese... or actually, accosted, after he'd accidentally walked over their nesting site by the pond. And they seem to be intent on driving him as far away as possible by flapping their wings and nipping at his back as he tries to escape. Little help?]

What...makes you say that? [ Wouldn't it be better to remember where he came from? He can still barely recall any memories from when he was in the Organization. ]

'Cause you can live any way you want.

[faints]

How does having or not having memories when you're made make that happen? [ Because as far as he knows, the fact that he knew nothing was what kept him there ]

[He just gives a small shrug.] It's complicated.

[faints]

Well...so's not having memories. [ He looks off to the side and rubs the back of his head. Is he actually having a semi-decent conversation with Vanitas, of all people? ]

A lot gets messed up.

[He's not denying that it must be hard, either way. But if Roxas only knew, well.]

Wanna trade places? [It's a little sardonic, but... he's half-way serious.]

[faints]

Haa??? You're joking--right? [ He's not that good at reading you Vanitas 8|;; and the offer disarms him again ]

Partly.

[faints]

[ ......omfg seriously SINCE WHEN DOES VANITAS EVEN HALF-JOKE. Excuse Roxas while he stares at you like you've grown a second head here, mister ]

[Relax Roxas. Freaky Friday was a couple weeks ago, and the gods wouldn't be so cruel as to double curse him. Not now, at least.

But Roxas' expression actually gets an amused little smile from him.]

Yeah, I wouldn't take me up on that either.

[faints]

No, that's... I mean, this is just really weird. I've never seen you actually...smile. Or joke around, or not be a total jerk to everyone. It's kind if surprising.

[showmeanguish]

[Lies, he was totally joking around the first time they met.

But then his smile disappears, and a little of that hardness returns.]

"Let your fear and anger consume you. Turn it into hate, and unleash the power inside you."

[faints]

Turn it to...hate? [ What is he talking about? It sounds rehearsed--like a line someone else has told him before ]

What's that mean?

[showmeanguish]

Nothing.

[But he looks a little agitated, again.] Just ramblings of an old man.

[faints]

Oh. Um...well--I don't know much about all of that stuff, but it can't be good to hold onto stuff like that.

[showmeanguish]

[He sounds like Ventus... It's annoying, but maybe they're both right. Maybe he should try to find his own life. It'd be... easier to do, here, so long as he stayed.

But he still has doubts. Insecurities. He's still flawed, and knows deep down that he'll never be truly happy.]

Why's that?

[faints]

Just being angry and hating everything all the time won't make you feel any better. All it does is make you feel worse about it. It's not that you shouldn't ever get upset or be mad or feel scared, but...if you only concentrate on that and none of the good stuff then it's overwhelming isn't it?

[ Is that why Vanitas is the way he is...? He just steeped in his own negative thoughts and emotions for years? ]

I...

[It is overwhelming, so overwhelming that he had to become it, completely, in order to cope. But he isn't to that point, yet. The first few weeks of his existence were crucial to his development.]

I don't know if I can.

[faints]

You can laugh and smile right? Then you're already halfway there. It's not hard to enjoy things...you just need to find something that's good that you like.

[showmeanguish]

[Sure, it sounded easy enough. The way Roxas said it, he was almost tempted to believe it. But there was still douubt biting at the back of his mind... The only time he'd felt anything close to enjoyment was when he's attacked Ven.]

What if the only thing I can enjpoy is hurting others?

[faints]

Well that's...um--you enjoyed that sort-of joke right? That's something other than hurting people isn't it?

Because it made you uncomfortable.

[faints]

Well, at this this time you weren't attacking me...

[showmeanguish]

[And have a blink and a stare again. He could attack you if you wanted. :3]

--Err. I'm sure there's other stuff you like! Like your favourite...food? [ ...would he even have that, being a day or two old? He probably doesn't even have a favourite game or a hobby or anything yet ]
