[Day: You survived. That was... horrifying. And you don't think you've ever been so happy to see the sun rise the next morning. Things are worse for wear, and you need to get more supplies just in case something else comes.

But wait- halfway through the day, and suddenly the sun is gone? Where did it go, and how is it night so early?

Night: Careful. The terrors of last night are back, and now are even in more of a frenzy than before. More crazed, more dangerous, and wanting to destroy everything they come across. Hope you can keep your eyes open.]

[Oh goddamnit here we go again- he really didn't need this. Alan is on the prowl and more on the offensive now, since people have a general idea to stay in the light when darkness hits.]

[It was really only a matter of time, with how careless Kate had been the night before and how quickly she threw herself back into it. She should have been more careful, more watchful, but with all these new horrors and nightmares.

But she had to save everyone.

Maybe if she'd been more prepared, less exhausted from the night before, but even then she doesn't know how it happens.

Kate Beckett has been taken, and is now moving around the Hel district in an attempt to find more victims, more meat.]

Every ounce of logic in his head screamed that he needed to turn around and run right back to the library for safety.

Sadly, love was stronger than logic.

Castle ran blindly through the streets, wielding his flashlight in one hand and his gun in the other. He found that the light kept the ravens and the ghost creatures back if he shined it at them, but sometimes he wasn't quick enough. One of the birds dive bombed him and he emptied two rounds into it. The bird's blood splattered across his shirt but he knew he had to keep going.

Where the hell was she?

Finally, after what seemed like hours of searching, he found her reloading her weapon on the side of a building. She was bruised and bloodied and Castle felt a tug inside of his very soul. He wasn't about to lose her like this.

"Kate! Come on!"

[On the border of Sigyn and Freya, actually. Euri is aware something strange is going on, but that's exactly why she's out so late. Her boss at the apothecary is old, really old, and stubborn as hell. He insisted on staying the whole day at the apothecary, though he agreed to her walking him home to make sure he didn't run into anything dangerous.

Unfortunately for her, it's already dark when she finishes that task and starts to head back to Freya. She's got her parasol but she's really wishing she had brought Dog along.]

[he had been struggling to fight whatever these things were all day. he wasn't sure what caused the attack to happen but he knew something was going on since the day before. on top of that, the sun disappears halfway through the day? that couldn't mean anything good.

sword unsheathed, Castor carefully makes his way to the Freya district. it was a little hard to get used to fighting when you have no idea what the hell you're fighting. as he turns the corner of Sigyn into Freya when he bumps into someone - or something. he's really hoping it's a someone]

W-Who is there?

[Fortunately it's a someone! Euri lets up a surprised squeak, darting back and holding her parasol defensively until some squinting reveals that it's just Castor. She lets out a sigh of relief.]

Castor! I'm glad to see you.

Euri? [on one hand he's happy to see her safe & sound, on the other he's not happy she's in danger outside. he doesn't doubt her ability to defend herself but she's much too precious to him to lose]

What are you doing here? You should be inside.

I was helping my boss get home. [She's stepping closer, eyes travelling down to his sword.]

Are you okay?

I see... Ah, yes I am alright. [save for a few scratches & a bruise here & there, he's fine]

Euri you have to get home. It is not safe out here. [for now it was quiet, but who knew how long that was going to last?] I will take you home.

[She gives him a small nod and turns to start in the direction of her house, for once not planning on being stubborn.]

Okay. I can give you something for your cuts at Freya.

Thank you. [he offers her a small smile as he takes her hand firmly. he will not allow another loved one to die, no matter what the cost] I promise I will protect you, Euri.

[he's been around the city enough to know where the Freya house is, but that didn't mean it was going to be an easy trip. he made it this far without getting seriously hurt but he knew better than to get his hopes up. so far so good though....]

[She smiles back, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. She feels better with him there.

Unfortunately that isn't lasting very long. The very first corner they're turning lands them on a street with a dozen ravens flying around aggressively.]

[ Jasmine is riding her Steelix today.

The protection of a giant metal snake keeps her safe from most attacks if it moves quickly enough, except for the ravens divebombing from above and the odd tornado, which she tries to hide from. But it's getting more difficult - tagging along with her is a bunch of survivors (she'll even save the innocent natives who she doesn't know), who she swaps in and out, leaving them in a safe place before heading out again to collect more.

After recent events the night before, her mind is almost blank. She won't think of anything except what is necessary to help as many people as possible. During a battle, she has to focus - to become immovable and unshakeable. Then that is what she must do here.

You can find her:

1. Dashing in or out of the clinic and hospital, gathering supplies (dangerously so - she has to leave her Steelix behind when going into buildings).

or 2. Roaming around, trying to dodge attacks with a couple of natives clinging on to Rusty's back behind her. ]

[he knew the silence was too good to be true. as the swarm of ravens dive toward them, Castor stands protectively in front of her, trying to use his sword to cut their numbers]

Get behind me! [it doesn't seem to be doing much good, unfortunately. just when he thinks he's got one down, another three takes its place. who would've thought birds could be so vicious in numbers?] D-Damnit... Get out of our way!

R - right! [She lets go of his hand, clutching her parasol with both hands as she move behind him. She'll try to smack the ravens he misses, but she isn't much better at hitting small, fast targets.]
